^ It's given good feedback by members, myself included (Christmas Eve will be my third year there). Material and Methods The following primarily lesbian content websites are examined: Adult Times (AT), Girlfriends Films (GFF), Sweetheart Video (SHV, part of the Mile High/MH network), Sapphic Erotica (SE, part of Sapphix network), Lesbea (part of Sexy Hub/SH network), All Her Luv (AHL), Slayed, We Live Together (WLT, part of Reality Kings/RK network), Vivid (part of AT), Vivid Classic (part of AT), Wicked Classic (part of Wicked). This author wanted to include Viv Thomas as part of the analysis, but unfortunately that website's tag system is much more difficult to use so they are not included. Only those scenes that are present on these companies' website are included; those that are not available online (much of early GFF, for example), are not counted.
The specific types of content are identified by using the tags supplied by the websites. The following should be noted about the use of tags in this paper. 1. Scenes are not always correctly tagged. However, at present there is no way to reliably estimate the direction or size of error. Nevertheless, this paper will err on the side of caution by trying to avoid undercounting (as discussed in point 3 and 4). 2. Not all sites use the same terminology. In some cases, one-to-one matches can be found. For example, GFF uses "scissoring" instead of "tribbing." The author's best judgment is used to find such matches. 3. In other cases, combinations are used. For example, for SHV, this paper adds "anal toys," "dildo," and "sex toys" tags to count all "toy" scenes. This almost certainly results in some double counting. This is done to avoid possibly missing some scenes. 4. The "family roleplay" (FR) tag for GFF is especially problematic. If only "family roleplay" and "step sister" and "stepmom" tags are included, there are only 144 scenes. Yet the "Mother Daughter Exchange Club" (MDEC) series alone has 247 scenes. This author decides to simply add them together, resulting in a certainly inflated figure. 5. In some cases a tag simply does not appear as an option for that website. For example, no "squirt" or similar tag exists for Vivid Classic. This may or may not mean such scenes don't exist. One exception is Sapphic Erotica where the "peeing" tag exists but there are no scenes (likely they are on the solo-oriented Give Me Pink part of the network).
For Adult Time, non-AT scenes (about 30% of all scenes are licensed from other sites), non-lesbian, solo, and interview scenes are excluded.
For WLT and Lesbea, they no longer exist as separate subsites of RK and Sexy Hub respectively, but RK and SH still produce lesbian content, so all lesbian contents from these two networks are included in this count.
For Vivid, Vivid Classic, and Wicked Classic, these contents mostly seem to come from the 90s to early 2000s.
Results For toy use, 43.37-59.38% of all scenes have them on the three classic sites. For more modern sites, the highest is Slayed at 39.71%, with AHL lowest at 6.08%.
For strap-on use, no data exists for Vivid and Vivid Classic (they certainly were used but no tags were available for counting purpose). For Wicked it was 13.51%. For modern sites, they range from 1.51% for SHV to 4.07% for SE, with Slayed being somewhat a high outlier at 10.29%.
For tribbing, it was likely nonexistent among the classics, but now they range from 5.23% at SE to 69.58% for AHL. For squirting, it was nearly nonexistent among the classics, with Wicked being the highest at 1.08%. Today they are more popular but remain quite rare: they range from 0.46% at Lesbea to 8.40% at GFF, with Slayed again being somewhat a high outlier at 20.59%.
For family roleplay, it was also absent in earlier videos. Today, they are still very much a minority, ranging from none at AHL (which has much older/younger content, but not family roleplay), SE and Slayed to 10.92% at best at GFF (which is almost certainly an overestimation as explained previously).
