Voters Reject Prop 60 (Xbiz) --- FSC Issues Statement on Defeat of Prop 60 (Xbiz) --- APAC Celebrates Results of #NoProp60 (Xbiz) --- Chanel Preston: Thank you to everyone who helped make the Prop 60 defeat possible. I am so happy to see performer voices make such a difference. I hope we can continue this momentum and work to create an even stronger, more well-informed, and proud community. @apacsocial --- Tasha Reign: I'm really proud of our industry for coming together and our #voices do matter. |

The state of CA takes election results from all counties, combines them, and arrives at a total (yes or no) for the entire state. For a proposition to become law, it must get a majority of yes votes. Prop 60 did not get a majority vote: 46% yes -- 54 % no. Edited by - cubbiefanoc on 11/9/2016 2:41:04 PM |

| pringles All-Star Member 1351 Posts 2/08 | The win was the result of more than social media. They really ramped up other avenues in the last few weeks. Tasha Reign's college tour. Dozens of performers marching to AHF headquarters. Perhaps a dozen performers writing articles in various publications. Radio debates and appearances. Public events to answer questions. The coordinated blocking of visitors to adult sites coming from California IP addresses. Handing out leaflets and talking to shoppers at L.A. farmers markets. Many of those above generated their own press coverage. --- Stagliano: Prop 60 Defeated Thanks to Porn Activists (Xbiz) |

FSC is holding a meeting with industry stakeholders tomorrow to discuss the upcoming Cal/OSHA regulations and the possibility of obscenity prosecutions under the Trump administration. |

| pringles All-Star Member 1351 Posts 2/08 | Trump signed The Children's Internet Safety Presidential Pledge (PDF) in July. It calls for more obscenity prosecutions and a Presidential Commission on internet pornography. The Obama administration disbanded the Obscenity Prosecution Task Force (OPTF) in 2011. It was created in 2005 under the Bush administration. New obscenity prosecutions were stopped but existing cases were allowed to continue. Max Hardcore, Ira Isaacs and John Stagliano were among the cases brought by the OPTF. President Reagan had the Attorney General's Commission on Pornography, also known as the Meese Commission, in the 1980's. President Lyndon B. Johnson had the President's Commission on Obscenity and Pornography. |

| Goldstein All-Star Member "You have sacrificed nothing and no one." 3689 Posts 8/10 | I'm sure the red states have many venues who would welcome a good old obscenity trial witch-hunt. And, now that Trump and the right-wing will get to appoint the next SCOTUS justice, and possibly more, they will have it in their power to impose their views on the rest of us -- and sustain it in the courts. |

| pringles All-Star Member 1351 Posts 2/08 | In a nutshell: 1) If Prop 60 had passed, a litigation plan was in place, financed by John Stagliano. 2) Cal/OSHA is the next fight. 3) A new effort to initiate discussion with the L.A. County Health Department with regards to Measure B will be lead by FSC's Eric Paul Leue. 4) Vivid's Steve Hirsch expressed disappointment that some "major, major" players in the industry "let us down" with regards to funding to fight Prop 60. I have to believe he was referring to Larry Flynt. Xbiz didn't report any discussion with regards to potential obscenity prosecutions. |
| pringles All-Star Member 1351 Posts 2/08 | Mark Kernes' article has more details. FSC Holds Meeting to Recap Prop 60 Fight & Discuss Plans for the Future (AVN) Steve Hirsch was referring to Larry Flynt. Hirsch: "The main person that comes to mind for me is Larry Flynt and Hustler. They gave exactly zero dollars, and that is after numerous attempts were made, begging, cajoling, asking to please support us. ... There were others, but to me, that just stands out." It also sounds as if the FSC is considering strengthening the industry's testing standards, to require rectal and throat swabs, as a bargaining chip with Cal/OSHA to allow for condoms. These currently aren't done because of the cost. I'm not sure how they get around that. And who pays? Mark Kernes expressed disappointment that only 60 people showed up. That's pretty good given the short notice. |

Hang tight. --- jessica drake, Verta, Veruca James and Siouxsie Q represented the industry at yesterday's Cal/OSHA Standards Board public meeting. There was no scheduled discussion of the issue, they were just there to show they are engaged and to ask for their help in January. |
| pringles All-Star Member 1351 Posts 2/08 | Where contributions are related to a particular organization, they are listed together under that company name people are familiar with. For example, the donations from Adam & Eve's founder Phil Harvey and parent company PHE Inc. are listed together as Adam & Eve. Clips4Sale is used rather than Tropical MBC LLC, etc. Where contributions came from someone apparently unrelated to the industry, OR the name appeared to be the real name of a performer that couldn't be identified by a stage name, I've left them out. ##### - There's a 497 filing for these entries but no matching entry in the State's spreadsheet & online listing of contributions. It's unclear whether these are monetary or non-monetary donations. There should be one more 497 filing coming to clear things up. ***** - This money appears to be related to MindGeek (formerly Manwin). The AHF has filed a complaint with the California Fair Political Practices Commission over it. Major non-monetary contributors include Kink, the California Democratic Party, the Free Speech Coalition, Treasure Island Media and Vivid. Others include Dee Severe, Penthouse Global Media, Evil Angel, AEBN, Wicked Sensual Care, Clips4Sale and Amateur Allure.
