I know there are some who believe the turnover rate hasn't increased but I think it has. I suspect many new performers are entering with the intention of using porn to boost their escort and feature dancing income. In the past those were sidelines or post-porn careers but with the industry being so in the doldrums I think they've become the main source of income. And/or they enter the industry, realize all this 'bigger than US steel' talk is nonsense and that they can make more money escorting or stripping.

Good question. Probably hard to know for sure unless an old school industry member could share their view. Performers always escorted on the side, although there were those who didn't do it, but it has always been on the DL. Less so these days due to the use of the net to get dates.
