For the last couple of days, I've finished reading a book called Tryst Six Venom. It's written by Penelope Douglas and published last year. There are several things to know about this book.

- This is the first Douglas book I've read, but apparently she is a major best selling (New York Times, Wall Street Journal) romance author.

- For genre, it is explicitly described as "female-female bully romance." Yeah it's exactly what that sounds like.

- The story is essentially this: it's about two students in a Catholic high school. One is Clay, who is rich, blonde, gorgeous, popular, ostensibly straight; the other is Liv, who is poor, has black hair, also gorgeous, but shunned because she is poor and an out lesbian. Clay bullies Liv, who either shrugs it off or gives back as good as she gets. Then of course things take a turn exactly as you expect. Below is a fanart of the two characters which I got from here

- I don't want to make it sound like this book is all about sex, because it's not. It has a lot of family drama, high school drama, and social drama. The romance between Clay and Liv is full of ups and downs, with literal fights, tears, secrets, breakups, reunions, and the big high school prom finale.

- But -- and this is why I'm posting this here -- this book is very smutty. It has a lot of very explicit lesbian sex, much more than I expected. Perhaps I'm just not familiar with the romance genre (maybe that's just the norm for that genre). One very amusing aspect of the sex is that the two girls try tribbing quite a few times. In fact the very first time they have sex is in the high school locker room where they somehow manage a pussy-to-pussy tribbing while standing! I was literally laughing when I read that, thinking to myself "Goodness gracious Ms. Douglas which porn movie have you watched as research for this book?" Other than that however, the other sex scenes are generally quite realistic and well written and very hot.

- Another connection to porn: as I was reading the book, of course I immediately start thinking about porn that I've seen that is about "bully romance." There are a few from Girlsway about bullies, but with its general tendency toward comedy, they are not really bully dramas. Nevertheless I thought about "Opposites Attract" between Charlotte Sartre and Scarlett Sage. That's not really a bully scenario, but there are some physical contrasts that echo the Clay/Liv relationship.

Onto some speculations/fantasies:

- I'm struggling to do a porn fantasy casting of this novel. Clay and Liv are both very strong athletes (they are the two best players on their school's lacrosse team) and physically evenly matched (they are described as having the same height, and in the fights they get into there are no clear winners). Bella Roland keeps popping into my mind as Liv, but I think that's mainly because I really admire her acting ability, she looks athletic, and her dark hair. The problem is that Bella is really tall, and in a fight it's just not credible that someone like say tiny Scarlett can get through without getting a severe beat down. In fact in g/g scenes I think the directors often make a specific effort to minimize any height difference lest the scene look comical. If unsuccessful, well, this is what it can look like (this is the 6 ft tall Bella and the 5 foot 1 inch Natalie Knight)

- Any suggestions? We will need one blonde, one brunette. They need to be young, athletic, have good acting skills, and physically evenly matched.

- One of the key things that make the book really hot is the sexual tension build up. Between the time they realize they are sexually attracted to each other to when they finally have "full" relaxed sex, they have multiple "partial" sexual encounters that have to be cut short due to lack of privacy or emotional insecurity from one or the other character. Both Girlsway and AllHerLuv do mini-series: I wonder if it's feasible to actually do a multi-part series where there is no "full" (i.e. to completion/orgasm and reciprocal) sex for one or even two episodes just to build up the tension. Or will the viewers feel cheated?

The movie as a whole seems to have a larger plot, but this one has none. It's just the two of them having sex in bed. I've never seen a Stormy directed movie, but these two actresses are obviously top tier g/g performers so I was expecting good stuff -- and it is very good, sensual, sweet, and hot.

The whole scene is about 18 minutes. The first 7 minutes or so are devoted to very sensual foreplay of kissing and touching and licking. The early morning lighting is nice, and both girls look beautiful.

I saw one last night that is easily the standard to which all G/G scenes should be at minimum. It was the scene with Sara Stone and Avy Stone in "Women Seeking Women 82" for GFF.

Thats something I dont see anyone doing these days is cross referencing scenes, storylines, etc... in different movies to keep the storylines more connected.

Im probably living in the moment but it felt like its the most kissing that Ive seen in a scene ever. That's a problem you can encounter sometimes with AHL/VivThomas, yes their lighting and the shots look good, but the scene is already ruined when 1) the actual camera angles we need to see the action are so bad that we only get the backs of their heads, 2) the girls are obviously uncomfortable with how they're being told to position themselves or 3) the girls are giving bad/unnatural performances and the director either doesn't notice or doesn't care.

To me it just comes down to the director. That is what made GFF back in the day so great. Dan had great direction on he wanted GFF to be done and the late great Candy Girl being behind camera also did a fantastic job. Plus on GFF set there wasn't all these different people trying to do everything. It was the performers in the scene, Candy Girl behind the camera, and maybe Dan and another performer sitting in hanging out.
