I compared regular BG content with incest and phallus GG content because more people view those subcategories, just to highlight how even the big subcategories of GG are still not BG level. As far as phallus GG, if you ask performers about what GG content sells for them, or look at something like Adulttime or SLAYED, phalluses are very important to draw in viewers (and upvotes). [Link]

If I have to guess, the biggest (in terms of subscriber base) porn site/network is probably Team Skeet, and their biggest draw is their massive step sister/mom/daughter content. On the other hand, as I've mentioned in a post in the Slayed thread, among the main g/g studios that I watch, no one else cracks 10%. In fact, most have less than 5%. I can only speculate this is a sort of bootstrapping thing: because AT is rich, they can afford to shoot so many scenes with more than 2 women; because they have so many such scenes, they are more popular with the fans, and so they get richer. So sad to hear that, one of the great studios from the golden era, the early 00's, it's kind of an ominous sign, the future doesn't look bright when a major studio of this caliber rides off into the sunset, many have come and gone over the past decade but none of this magnitude, to be honest there are several big sites I've been expecting to bite the dust, and I don't mean to sound callous saying that, I'm devastated when a site closes it's doors.

Their folks didn't get together because of the times, but now they can. That's a good concept for a legit "The Notebook" kind of story that I would probably enjoy.

My favorite Elle Alexandra scenes:

Elle & Bree Daniels for Reality Kings would be #1. It's in the RK Vol #32 dvd. This is the one where it is just those 2 girls performing. They are wearing perverse workout clothing & most of the scene is done on a white mat floor.

Ditto on all of those. Bree Daniels and Elle Alexandra were great together. Interview is the best format overall, besides simply starting with the sex directly. The Lesbian Sex series at GFF (before the last 2 or 3 iterations) and WeLikeGirls from Girlsway, before Girlsway pretty much gave up on being at all genuine with that concept.

The intros can be cool even if the women don't have a prior connection because, hey, it's still neat to find out what made the one woman pick the other. Gimme that over "incest mom/I've never done this before/stuck in a washing machine blah blah blah" any day of the week. Give the performers leeway to have sex as themselves instead of having the distractions about doing a character.

Totally agree. The step/incest stuff might be hot to some but I've never been into it. If the performers are good, I'll just skip that stuff anyway and enjoy the actual sex part.

Sadly, lesbian porn isn't popular compared to everyday BG, unless it has incest or some other kind of quasi-rape element. The incest subcategory might keep closer to the pace of BG content than benign GG does, but probably doesn't match it. Apparently, under current trends, it does help to have objects that can be imagined as dicks, as that pulls in people who usually stick to BG, but numbers on lesbian phallus content don't match real BG either.

The fauxcest theme should make no difference when it comes to comparison, as this sort of content is present for both straight (Mommy's Boy, Pure Taboo) and lesbian (Mommy's Girl) genre. As for sex toys in lesbian scenes, only 7 out of 50 scenes, or 14%, have them. As for your assertion that having phallic shaped sex toys help to "pull in people who usually stick to BG," I'm very curious to see what evidence you have for that.

Anyway, it seems like you believe straight porn is ranked higher than lesbian porn. Do you believe this is true across the board in terms of views, likes, and comments? And where do you think trans porn rank?

p.s.: just to be clear, for this little exercise, I'm referring to all Adult Time original scenes (excluding all partner and solo content) from the months of April, May, and June. These include a total of 170 scenes, of which 94 are straight, 50 are lesbian, 26 are trans. The numbers (views, likes, comments) are accurate up to when I entered their data, which is around 8pm USA Pacific Time, 7/12/2023.

Likes are generally not useful data as probably less than 1% of viewers actually click the thumbs up/down.

As far as views, BG generally will get more. I don't know about Adulttime specifically, but the sheer amount of content out there will tell you BG is viewed more. I compared regular BG content with incest and phallus GG content because more people view those subcategories, just to highlight how even the big subcategories of GG are still not BG level.

As far as phallus GG, if you ask performers about what GG content sells for them, or look at something like Adulttime or SLAYED, phalluses are very important to draw in viewers (and upvotes).

^ There might be some validity to the "sex toys pulls BG viewers" hypothesis. Not all sex toys but strap ons? Definitely. Penetration is very crucial to a lot of people I assume.

Also, the premise of the scene is a far more of a turn on for me than the actual sex. Basically, 2 random people, not so great but the same people with some hot premise, great!

Take for example this scene featuring Ariana Marie and Kendra Lust called "Almost Caught" on Girlsway. The premise is that the milf (Kendra) is hesitant while teen (Ariana) is the dominant one. Upon re-reading my original post, my wording may sound like I'm raising this question just to Lezzyist. This is not what I intended at all. This "quiz" is open to everyone. If I have to guess, I think I agree with aclayfan. Note that for now I have not yet combined the data for April to June, and I have not even entered the data for Jan to March yet, so I genuinely don't know the answer.

Lezzyist seems to believe straight porn has more views than lesbian porn, but that's not a complete answer. I look forward to reading about other's guesses.

As for Jay Sin's comments, I think this hints at the both the strength and the limitation of this analysis. On one hand, because we are looking at one single network (Adult Time), we can assume there's some uniformity in terms of production value, mix of sub-genres, models involved, etc., so a comparison between these three broad genres makes some sense. On the other hand, any extrapolation of this analysis to the broader porn landscape is very problematic, precisely because we are then comparing across networks (e.g. Adult Time vs. Evil Angel), where one can assume there are significant other differences.

Another thing about the "quiz:" I have included some additional categories into my table of data, such as "family roleplay" and "toy" (they are easily found using Adult Time's own filters). This way some additional questions can be answered.

1. Is there a "fauxcest bonus effect" for lesbian porn? If so, how much? And how does it compare to the effect for straight porn?
2. Is there a "toy bonus effect" for lesbian porn? If so, how much?

Alright so here are the results of my “quiz.” Just to reiterate: I looked at all the scenes on Adult Time during the past 6 months, focusing on the three broad genre/types of straight, lesbian, and trans, with the main goal of finding out the following:

- Which type has the most views, the most likes, and the most comments.
- What role family roleplay has in lesbian porn.
- What role toy has lesbian porn.

The main results are:

- For Views: TRANS > STRAIGHT > LESBIAN, though the difference between STRAIGHT and LESBIAN is negligible at less than 1%.
- This pattern is essentially stable across all 6 months.
- For both Likes and Comments: LESBIAN > TRANS > STRAIGHT.
- The presence of FAMILY ROLEPLAY is correlated with a significant boost of views for lesbian porn. This boost is even bigger for straight porn.
- The presence of TOYS has essentially no effect on the views for lesbian porn.

First, an overview of all the scenes is as follows. Note the number of straight scenes outnumber lesbian scenes by about 2:1, and lesbian scenes in turn outnumber trans scenes by about 2:1. My guess is Adult Time probably has more non-straight porn than most, if not all, large porn networks out there.

Second, the detailed results for views, likes, and comments are as follows. The “DIFF vs Straight” column means I treat the views for straight porn as a baseline, and compare lesbian and trans porn to it. As you can see, basically there’s no difference between straight and lesbian porn, but trans porn is a lot further ahead at about 17% more views. For likes and comments, the separations of the three types are big.

I’m not suggesting that for porn in general lesbian porn is equally as popular as straight porn, or trans porn is the most popular of all. But for the Adult Time audience, these are true. Judging by likes and comments, lesbian porn fans are the most engaged, appreciative of the videos, and opinionated. Trans porn fans are somewhat less so, and straight porn fans are the least engaged -- or their engagement is simply more diffused across many more scenes.

Also, this trend in average views (trans > straight ~ lesbian) is stable over time.

For lesbian porn, only about ¼ has family roleplay in it. These scenes have on average almost 30% more views than those scenes that don’t have family roleplay. Interestingly, for straight scenes, only about 13% have such, but the boost in views is a massive 60%. These increases are also reflected in likes and comments. It’s curious that Adult Time has produced so few straight scenes with family roleplay.

Finally, sex toy use in lesbian porn is uncommon (only about 15% of scenes have them), and it has essentially no effect on the number of views (very minor “penalties” in views, likes, and comments). If pressed, I would guess most of Adult Time’s lesbian porn fans are rather agnostic toward toys. They probably care more about who are using them and how they are used.

All the data are entered on July 12 and 13, so the numbers for views, likes, and comments are only accurate up to that time (assuming I have not made any mistake -- not a safe assumption). Anyway, I just did a review of a Jennie scene from Twistys. She's gorgeous. Kylie is a personal favorite. Also I just posted a response in the "Lez Be Bad" thread commenting on how I like to see the magic wand used -- and the preview matches it exactly!

First, an overview of all the scenes is as follows. Note the number of straight scenes outnumber lesbian scenes by about 2:1, and lesbian scenes in turn outnumber trans scenes by about 2:1. My guess is Adult Time probably has more non-straight porn than most, if not all, large porn networks out there.

Second, the detailed results for views, likes, and comments are as follows. The “DIFF vs Straight” column means I treat the views for straight porn as a baseline, and compare lesbian and trans porn to it. As you can see, basically there’s no difference between straight and lesbian porn, but trans porn is a lot further ahead at about 17% more views. For likes and comments, the separations of the three types are big.

I’m not suggesting that for porn in general lesbian porn is equally as popular as straight porn, or trans porn is the most popular of all. But for the Adult Time audience, these are true. Judging by likes and comments, lesbian porn fans are the most engaged, appreciative of the videos, and opinionated. Trans porn fans are somewhat less so, and straight porn fans are the least engaged -- or their engagement is simply more diffused across many more scenes.
Also, this trend in average views (trans > straight ~ lesbian) is stable over time.

For lesbian porn, only about ¼ has family roleplay in it. These scenes have on average almost 30% more views than those scenes that don’t have family roleplay. Interestingly, for straight scenes, only about 13% have such, but the boost in views is a massive 60%. These increases are also reflected in likes and comments. It’s curious that Adult Time has produced so few straight scenes with family roleplay.

Finally, sex toy use in lesbian porn is uncommon (only about 15% of scenes have them), and it has essentially no effect on the number of views (very minor “penalties” in views, likes, and comments). If pressed, I would guess most of Adult Time’s lesbian porn fans are rather agnostic toward toys. They probably care more about who are using them and how they are used.

For those who are interested, you can see the raw data here, which are on the first "AT JAN-JUN" tab. All the data are entered on July 12 and 13, so the numbers for views, likes, and comments are only accurate up to that time (assuming I have not made any mistake -- not a safe assumption). The "family roleplay" and "toy" category are determined based on Adult Time's own filter. On the "analysis" tab you can see the pivot table I used. If you are familiar with Excel, you are welcome to monkey around with it and see if there are other things of interest.

Impressed with the amount of work you put in, not sure there is much of an appetite for the subject matter around here.
1. No surprise with the stepmom etc info, there is a reason everybody churns that stuff out.
2. To get the straight porn crowd activated, you got to narrow the area of interests. The anal hounds,interracial & blowbang folks are as nutty & involved as any fan groups in existence. I think those groupings have minimal use for Adulttime.

I appreciate your response. Good to know at least some people find what I do interesting.

1. The "family roleplay" stuff is definitely huge. The only surprise I find is how it's not even bigger at Adult Time. If I have to guess, the biggest (in terms of subscriber base) porn site/network is probably Team Skeet, and their biggest draw is their massive step sister/mom/daughter content. Part of the reasons is the "taboo," but I think another part is simply that a lot of people do like to watch their porn with some plot/drama, and the fauxcest thing provides a simple and cheap way to do that.

2. Adult Time is definitely highly unusual in its content. My calculations have not even included their (admittedly small) gay and bisexual (male) content. Add those in, and around half of their content is non-hetero. Bree Mills and its root in Girlsway may have something to do with it. Such tradition may also explain why its audience does not favor straight porn over other types.

3. As for straight porn and its relationship with things like anal and interracial and blowbang, I think there's a minority of people who are super into those stuff and are very loud about it (or "nutty and involved" as you put it), whereas the majority of straight porn viewers don't care much about it one way or the other. This is not pure speculation. I actually have some data behind it, but I'll not clog up this thread with it.

4. One more data point on what makes Adult Time lesbian scenes popular. I mentioned how scenes with family roleplay have 28.79% more views than those without. You know what makes a scene even more popular? Those with more than two women. Such scenes get 38.97% more views. No wonder nearly a quarter of their scenes have 3 or more women. On the other hand, as I've mentioned in a post in the Slayed thread, among the main g/g studios that I watch, no one else cracks 10%. In fact, most have less than 5%. I can only speculate this is a sort of bootstrapping thing: because AT is rich, they can afford to shoot so many scenes with more than 2 women; because they have so many such scenes, they are more popular with the fans, and so they get richer.
