I am aware of the archaic laws of these nations. Being a Jew, you probably understand why I do not endorse Islamic law. In their eyes they are not murdering anyone, they are punishing a non believer or a violator. But even there if you murder someone, you will be punished. They will probably chop your head off. I really try to stay out of Bagdad.
I don't know what to tell you when it comes to renting or buying from Blockbuster type or adult bookstores. To me, those places are either lost costs, or lack shelf space to interest me anymore. There are plenty of places to rent online though. Some with pretty large inventories. Certainly much large than the average storefront place. I think the porn companies can only sell to those places, maybe at a discount. It really up to them to decide how to get their money back. I doubt the bigger companies depend on those storefront places to survive. In truth, there aren't that many really around anymore. And most Blockbuster type stores are too afraid to sell/rent porn anyway for fear of backlash. You just gotta be creative (besides illegal downloads) to get what you want. IMO though, most porn is now distributed online. I find great (legal) deals on new, newer, or older porn all the time. Not sure why so others many don't. I don't expect to get a just released film for $5 though.

Woody has also chosen to ignore the polls he requested I share with him (and others following this thread) showing that illegal filesharers of music are ALSO the same people who spend the most on music. Apparently, he is only interested in data that supports the opinion that he already holds.
As a Christian (no, not the type that wants to bed Andrea Dworkin's dead body and get a blow-job from Shelly Lubben -- I like porn and believe in the first amendment), I stay away from Baghdad, Tehran and Detroit! I bet in any of those places I would literally lose my head very quickly. Since you are a Jew, don't read up on WWII history, you will be offended big time regarding Adolf and what he did. Everyone else, please learn about the Holocaust so we don't repeat it. Also, I would piss on Adolf's grave every chance I got for what he did to Jews, lesbians/gays, Gypsies and Roman Catholics if it were possible.
One doesnt need to be a rocket scientist to rightly make a logical analogical conclusion that the same would mutatis mutandis be the case concering tube viewers and the amount they spend on original content compared to non-tube viewers. Therefor; I think that the step that porn production companies made to post trailers and/or screenies on their official web-sites is a good thang. I purchased lots of dvds from evil angel after taking a gander at some of the movie trailers. And I must say, a whole lot more than if I only had the opportunity to watch the art work on both sides of the DVD. We certainly know that Vivid lied(s?) quite some time regarding the claims (extra scenes etc) on the vhs/dvd boxes or about scene screenies on their dvd artwork that dont even appear on the actual dvd. But lets not get into this again, lets let "sleeping dogs lie" (Haha, yes Len, I now know about the meaning of this "idiom" ;) ).
Nothing new. Otherwise its hard for him to keep up with one of his favorite discussion methods: argumenting "pour besoin de la cause". But I must give it to him: hes a pitbull and certainly the right man on the right place for vivid entertainment( yes this is a compliment and no I aint being sarcastic)....but unfortunately, even pitbulls know when to stop....when they get a bullet!, meaning in this case: other p.o.v.'s that bring a whole nother light to the discussion that dont seem to coincide with "Woody's" beliefs. I just checked vivids web-site for the first time since years, and I see that they also -just like evil angel- made trailers and/or screenies available for their latest releases. Even though Ive never been a fan of vivid (yes Ive always been a big time fan of lil' Jenna), but I think this is a good step of them. http://vivid.com/videos/nikkis-house Keep in mind to add the trailers a.s.a.p. once production is a wrap and release is imminent. I guess him being a good friend of Jenna cant make him all that baD....I think....
I dont get that part with them pictures either.... Dont know who Stephanie is, but censor is lame: So is snitching in that thread about whos gonna be the next deactivated member. I said in a previous post, that the person who illegally downloads is a lost customer to the mainstream/adult industry. Why that person is a lost client they are unable and more to the point unwilling to address. I don't frequent tube sites and what have you, but it is a window nonetheless as to what is available. Some scenes are very brief, some a little longer. By and large they are ALL of poor video and audio quality. Nobody would want to own any of that crap. Nearly all is mislabelled and there is no clueas as to what is what. Without some of those clips and sites, it would be difficult to know what is out there. Perhaps the porn industry should support and set up one such (joint) tube site and upload brief clips of some scenes of their movies. It would help clients make more discerning choices as to what they would be willing to plunk down good money for. Woody suggested VOD downoads. But again that's plunking down money for something you have not seen or have any idea of. Music has a good window in radio stations. You know the song, you have heard it. Mainstream movies are well advertised, with movie trailers of varying sizes well before their release dates. A movie ticket is still another good window to see the product before you may be willing to spend 2-3 times that amount on the DVD when it comes out. The porn industry has no such exposure. They are unwilling to address that issue. Again do they understand the reasons why that particular person is sitting in front of his computer downloading an adult movie? Easy? (is it that easy? Not really, it takes software, hardware and some knowhow to work it out, you get no tutorials). Is it cheap? (not any more so)? Is it quick? (has Woody tried to download a 2 1/2 hour adult title via torrent or P2P to see how long that takes?, and then possibly to burn it on a DVD)?
This site ADT gives you all the information and all the links to the company sites with the trailers. This is all the exposure an honest customer needs to make his decision.
I see, o.k., I dont need to figure out anything, cause all of this doesnt make me think otherwise for one bit. And to speak in juha's terms, it will be very lonely for an owner of a house if nobody wants to visit that owner due to reasons that said owner is constantly ragging on his/her visitors and laying down sets of rules of language. The lonely house owners will remain lonely, cause potential visitors will be thinking twice before coming by for a good ol' cup o' joe- private house or not. Off course, we all need to try to behave like well-mannered people, and more specifically we all need to try to do our best to make adult performers feel like home here in the best way we can, but no need to butter up to them. If they cant take critism well (in regards to their performances), or if they dont like the type of questions or suggestions that are being made for upcoming projects that people here might want to ventilate about in their "appreciation threads" or wherever, then they just might better stay out of this "house". It can be a mean harsh world out side, and this also might sometimes be the case in little communities called forums. Besides, from what I've read from other peoples post, its always hard to tell how to talk at some of the female performers (not for me personally, btw); some girls have a pretty foul taste for vocabulary here themselves, and like to get talked to in words, you dont get taught by your momma, ya know.
@ADT44: His avatar is an inverted US flag. An inverted flag is meant to represent anti-patriotic sentiments, and not pro-patriotic ones. Also, in regards to your discussions regarding free speech... Please familiarize yourself with the ADT forum etiquette, in particular this sentence: "Posting a bunch of crazed nonsense about democracy and free speech will only lead to the deactivation of your account."
@Big_Mike: Similarly, they likely couldn't care less if you stopped posting here, which is likely something that will happen if your aggression continues. Please remember that a large portion of the posters here are in fact industry personalities, whether they be performers, directors, company owners or publicists, crew, or whatever else. I assume you wouldn't enjoy people saying they could care less if someone doing illegal activities caused you to lose your job; so please don't say the same thing to them. And while we're talking about your behaviour, please take a moment to read the ADT forum etiquette, as I've noticed a few of your posts don't follow in the spirit of what ADT is supposed to be about. Pay close attention to the 2nd and 3rd paragraphs in particular. Thank you both for reading. [edit: added user names to be more clear] Edited by - killbillvol69 on 4/4/2010 2:05:21 PM
Are you serious? This thread doesn't even make my personal top 50 of threads that are likely to scare away the talent. Unless you're meaning to include people such as hollywood woody in the term, but then his participation in this thread has arguably been a net negative for the industry's reputation with his incessant "let's just hand-wave away and ignore all inconvenient facts underlying the piracy problem so I don't have to think about it too hard or too in-depth" approach.
Absolutely. In one thread the so-called fans tell the girls they have to take three 10 inch cocks up their ass to be a real star. And in this thread they basically tell the girls they don't give a rats ass if a porn star gets paid. If I was in the industy I would have left ADT a long time ago. Every second newbie's first thread is a question with a link to pirated material. And even many long time ADT-members seem to prefer stealing their porn. This thread is full of rationalisations. I ask every downloader: If you produced a book, CD or DVD, do you want to decide to whom and for what charge you give it? The answer ist most certainly "yes", if you are true to yourself. And if the answer is "yes", stop the downloading. Remember the central sentence of Immanuel Kant: "Act only according to that maxim whereby you can at the same time will that it should become a universal law." Edited by - juha on 4/4/2010 4:35:04 PM

In the old days of Hollywood people were basically making movies by shooting from the hip, just look at any of Demille's epics. The danger of anyone copying that were completely impossible, as there just wasn't the money to made as there is today. Today you are talking billions of dollars, and that's a huge incentive. Then there’s the factor of where you live. It only occurred to me the other day that only about ten years ago it was totally illegal to own porn in the UK! Even now it’s almost impossible to get hold of in the shops, unless you pay extortionate prices in the occasional sex shop that’re dotted here and there around the country. And when you do find the odd sex shop they tend to have a mediocre selection (even then they might be pirates). Yep, unless we want to go through the bother of sending off to the States or Euroland and still pay above that of Americans or Euros through extra postage, possible import duty and the possibility of customs still confiscating the disks through ignorance, we are pretty much buggered. Nope, there's absolutely NO question of renting either. And don’t get me started on returning damaged or incompatible cheap disks.
Please can it, Mike! The tagline under Lucy's (Killbill69) screen name is "moderator". That tagline has been under her name for many months now. That means that there is a 99.999999999999999999 per cent possiblilty that she is a moderator. She has even taken the time to put her legal name under her picture/avatar, which as a moderator is taking lots of chances with her safety and well-being. Making comments unbecoming to a moderator and essentially telling her to fuck off will only get you thrown off the forum and if asked I will back that decision if Stephanie asks for information. If I see another flippant comment from you toward a moderator, I will contact Steph or Drew myself and see to it that you are done on this forum. This behavior would even get you kicked off of the forum that Lucy has referred you to, and that forum is very loose with the rules!

Yeah, I don't think I made a flippant comment toward her. Sounds like your panties are up in a bunch. Keep watching my posts though and go ahead and report me if I say something rude big guy lol...
I will admit that I have downloaded porn and (1) only came across certain content because of pirate forums, (2) because of the childish re-encodes poor quality ended up (spending several hundred dollars USD) purchased the DVD's. In fact, if I like the porn, I purchase the physical DVD's or join the site in order to get the highest quality. I then rip the DVD's to hard drive based storage. So I'm one example of piracy directly filling the porn moguls coffers with cash.
I did not know about that flag and its meaning. I thought it was some sort of joke. Thank you for the heads up. I guess it now makes sense why he wanted to know about the title of that book ;) As for the second part, I think that your subtly refined warning [mentioning of the second part of that sentence by you of: "will only lead to the deativation of your account"] is coming way to early! Regarding ALL of my 581 messages (you can check them out yourself if you want), I did not ONCE posted about democracy casu quo free speech. As for my last 2 posts in this thread (this message #584 not included); those certainly do not fall within that forum etiquette stipulation that you've quoted, saying "posting a bunch [meaning more than 2] of crazed [I was ONLY responding in a very polite manner using this guys own house metaphors] nonsense [what nonsense?] about democracy and free speech". I was not *advocating* free speech (post 582) I simply said that I dont think own needs to complain with the owners of this site to let them remove those "funny" obviously polarizing pictures that dont add shit to this discussion. Again, as for post 583 (being NON-crazed and NON-rioting ), its only function was to state that for certain people it might be difficult to know how to behave towards female performers who post here, if and as some DO speak in a certain "slutty" manner that I would not dare to speak with elderly people around. I mean, did I not say in that post that we all need to behave like well-mannered people and try to make the performers feel like home? One can behave civil and well-mannered and still neednt kiss ass in a fan-boy-kind-of-way, right? It only helps the performers if you give them some justly non ass kissing critism or suggestions to make there scenes more likable. I mean, thats one of the reasons why their here, right?....to interact with their fans/buyers to figure out what makes and keeps them fans etc. They are not here solely for all the ass kissing fanboys (i hope), if they would only be here for that kind of anonymous attention and appreciation (which I think would make them sad individuals) by people they dont know, then I would say to them, that they'll certainly get a more "real" fuzzy feeling if they wud go out to some local club or bar in a sexy lil' dress to receive all of them compliments of people they might actually be friends or lovers with. Can we now please get back on topic???? At least for those who like to discuss pirating and such? I have said everything I wanted, I want to move on to other threads, if that is okay....
@duefuss: Officially, you're correct. But when not at sea, in more colloquial settings, it has taken on the meaning of expressing various forms of unhappiness with the country whose flag is being displayed inverted. @mharris: hahahahaha!!!!! I am a mod, you're correct, but I am not Lucy Pinder, nor am I female. Lucy Pinder is the lovely woman whose pic is shown in my avatar. I only put her name there because when I initially joined ADT and was using the pic, I had so many ppl asking me her name (and for good reason - she's fuckin hot!) that I decided to include her name beneath the pic. For you, and anyone else interested, she is a British glamour model, and a google image search for "Lucy Pinder" with the safesearch options turned OFF will give you enough jerkoff material to last you the week. @ADT44: My message to you was only meant as a preemptive warning; not to suggest you were facing deactivation currently, or even any time soon.

I am going to pursue this and see if it is doable. A free site that gives you a little more than a trailer and not as much as a movie, for free. A good taste of what you would be buying. Great stuff Len. I have never tried downloading any movie from a share site, I heard it is quite a process, quality sucks and viruses are rampant.

If we lose our jobs because of piracy, you will no longer be jacking yourself off to your favorite porn star, you'll just be jacking yourself off. In other words, if I can't generate revenue from a movie, they will stop making movies to produce on dvd, if there are no dvds for you to pirate, you start paying from sites that cannot be pirated. No more copies, no more copying. So settle your little self down there Big Mike. I wonder what Big Mike does for a living? Would Big Mike get butt hurt if someone took food out of his mouth, and then told Big Mike, if you don't like it, tough shit. I bet Big Mike would be mighty upset.
howard, i commend you on your patience. you must know by now that most of the people who contend that piracy is not the problem are (a) not in our business and (b) have no idea what they are talking about. i doubt they have ever considered why lingerie and adult novelty sales have not suffered in the same way that adult content has. could it be because lingerie and adult novelties can't be digitally replicated and distributed?
I suppose the quality depends mostly on the quality of the material the original uploader had to begin with. If he is using some old VHS 2nd-3rd generation copy, the upload will probably be shitty (even a 1st generation copy from the old days was generally crappy). The older the movie, I would suppose the poorer video/audio quality it may be. Then (and I am not a techie) it depends how compressed the movie file is and what software was used to analyse, etc the file. I would suppose (and I do not know) that vuruses may creep in some files by people who just love infecting other people's computers for the thrill of it all. I believe some sites may perform some virus inspection of the files that are uploaded, but nothing is perfect. Whether it is rampant, I have no clue. But I don't think it is either easy or quick to generally download a 2 1/2 hour movie via conventional means. I don't think your average 16-year old would be able to manage it that easily. You can't go to your local library and pick up a copy of "How to illegally download in 10 easy steps". I think generally a youngish person who is into video piracy may want to possibly get his hands on a good DVD original and run off copies for the people around his neighboorhgood and charge something like $5-7. But even at that he is not making a lot of money when you consider the material and time spent on (re)producing that illegal copy. He could not charge that much more as a person would spend that same amount of money just renting it from his local video store. I am talking about pirating on a very small local localized scale. If you get bigger, especially in North America you get discovered very quick as the word gets around fast. The small scale operator does not inflict that much damage to the industry in light of the period of time he may be active (not very long), the number of illegal copies he could be making (not that much either), or the small sums he may be making. Large scale illegal duplication is more rampant in othe countries where governments either turn a blind eye, corrupt or ineffectual law enforcement/judicial system. You would need a high speed connection, lots of hard drive space, some software (which would either have to be bought or again improperly downloaded), lots and lots of time to download (days, weeks probably), then burn it all on a DVD or have the file clog up your PC. Downloading a full-length movie is definitely not the same as downloading a 4 1/2 minute song.

The early days of the VHS/BETA wars were extremely profitable for porn companies. All of a sudden people didn't have to go into some disgusting publice theatre to watch porn and the porn market suddenly increased 10 fold. If a broadcast company decides to air movies and does not take actions against recording of the air it´s their problem. What would be the reason to buy a harddrive recordingdevice if i can´t record what´s being aired or what comes via cable or dish ? What i do not like and what i will never support are any restrictions they (the broadcast companies, studios, etc) may take against the audience. If "they" choose to send "anti-record" bits i will not watch those channels ... on a technical side ... you would have to get special hardware anyway to watch those channels in the first place. But when i read about "anti-fastforward" pvrs during play (so you can not bypass the commercials) that´s something i wil never buy. And if they choose to only produce stuff like that than they fucked themselfes. No money from me :) Maybe the whole piracy stuff will get better when HD becomes more and more the standard (not that i need it or want it though) I mean downloading DVD iso files takes a lot of time but who want´s to download BD iso files ( i know there are crazy people who even do that) And another point ... quallity ... i know i´m in the minority here but if a guy from work offers me one of them camrips i tell him i don´t watch them. Not that i´m not interessted in the movie sometimes but people who watch camrips on their pc or phone or whereever have probably never been in a cinema and "felt" the movie they way it was supposed to be.

=That was the video revolution, and it started with porno. The mainstream movie industry was opposed to it and fought it all the way to the Supreme Court. They lost the battle, but eventually reaped unheard of profits from it. That decision in the 1980's allowed legit taping of TV programs off the airwaves as they were considered public). For the porn industry which was facing continual attacks for cinema theaters across the nation (Boston, New York, and other larger cities), it was a godsent as well. The Porn industry embraced the video format. People no longer had to sit in a seedy theater watching a porn movie, and it could be done in the comfort of your living room. It was not easy to either find or acquire an adult video tape in those early days. They initially cost about $80-$100 a princely sum in those days. By the mid 1980's everybody and his mother was making hc movies on video. It cost generally no more than about $15,000 to make, whereas a hc movie (of higher quality) shot on 35m was generally around $100,000. Video stores were sprouting eveywhere. The format was new and possessing a movie (mainstream/porn) was a heck of novelty. =Broadcast companies cannot take any action against anyone for taping of their programs, because of that Supreme Court decision in the 1980's. It is considered fair private use. Duplicating and selling that material for profit is considered illegal. DVR has taken over the "recording for later viewing" that the VCR enjoyed for several years. I have not seen any legal actions against that format, although the networks balk because they allow people to flip ahead and not watch the commercials. =I find regional coding and blocking certain portions of a DVD very insidious. The entertainment industry professes and unjustly claims the DVD is a world format, but it isn't. A DVD made in France cannot play in a DVD player sold in the USA. Porn knows better and by and large there is little or no regional coding for porn product, but mainstream is very restrictive. Then there are sections of a DVD that you cannot flip through (annoying trailers, etc). You are forced to watch seveal minutes of something you neither want or asked for, before you get to the main menu and play the movie. I find that despicable, but even in the days of VHS videocassette most studios (Disney and others) would put several minutes of trailers before you got to the movie. While you could fast forward through it, it was still annoying. While at first the mainstream movie industry was crying to the sky the the Beta/VHS machine was killing their business, they soon enough embraced and now they make much more money out of VHS/DVD platform that they do for cinema release. For many many years they pocketed the profits from VHS/DVD release without sharing it with talent. Now they cry to heaven again that millions of people are stealing their product by illegal downloading. How many dogs/flops they make release vs a half decent or decent movie in a given year? They complain about Blockbuster's avaricious tendencies to extract a large share of the DVD releases, but 80% of the stuff they put out you do not either want to rent or even want to buy or watch. Sure, Hollywood always made dogs even in the old days, but they could bury them in double bills. Now they fill the shelves of DVD stores that nobody wants to rent. It fills up the shelf space of a video store, but it is hardly uplifting to see those direct-to-DVD release you never heard of. =Camera rips are absolutely stupid. It has the same result as videtaping in front of your TV monitor. The framing is off, the video and audio quality atrocious. Why people do it? I think it may be a vanity issue for a techie/hacker/pirate to be able to post/upload a camera rip of a movie that was just released in a movie theater, and see how many people bite into it. To some extent it may annoy studios, but as we have noticed from studios press releases, it seems to be a "badge of honor" that thousands/supposedly millions have downloaded the camera rip, or how fast it has hit the torrent sites. There is no money involved for the uploader or anyone wanting to traffick in that type of quality rip. It is a vanity issue for both the uploader and the one who might download it to brag to his friends at work that he has seen the movie on his computer monitor. It's basically bragging rights, like the kid on the block who gets the first technical gadget from his old man. Edited by - Len801 on 4/5/2010 10:24:54 AM Edited by - Len801 on 4/5/2010 10:42:52 AM

That is quite true. I don't know how I get myself into these things. The LAST thing I want to be is an explainer of people with whom I disagree, but I think they would say that theirs is a very patriotic use of the flag, expressing their deep concern for their country that it is headed in a direction that is antithetical to its founding principles. The inverted flag is a symbol of the distress they believe their country to be in, and their love of their country the reason for calling attention to that distress. Personally, if I thought it would do any good, I would dispute nearly everything they believe, in that regard, but, clearly, our minds, theirs and mine, are made up

If dildo and adult novelty ites sales/revenue far outstripped adult videos, Vivid and other companies would have closed shop and gone into that business long ago. Certain things cannot be reproduced/replicated cheaply and quickly (or even well), while other things can be. That is the reality of technical advancement. You cannot stop progress. If you were a bit savvy I suppose you could build your own bicyle in your backyard (perhaps with little regard that certain workings of the machine may have some patened application) but it may not look or ride the same as a manufactured one. Movies that used to be exhibited theatrically until the early 1980's, had a certain lifespan (the better ones used to be reissued from time to time, and later they were sold to TV), but until the video revolution of the arly 1980's that was basically it. The studios controlled the product worldwide. While they now reap a lot more money on DVD sales than they do theatrical exhibition (which is still going strong worldwide, for a medium that started about a 100 years ago!) they weep endlessly about "pirating" and "downloading". Like I mentioned before, when video cassettes and DVD sales were in full swing, the studios basically kept the WHOLE money on old(er) and even new releases. You did not hear them weep when they were raking in the money, and they were not weeping if an old and little employed actor/actress had trouble paying his bills when they were making money off an older movie of his/hers. Walmart does not stop selling merchandise (at low prices) just because people may be shoplifting (or because of internal theft). In the old days your parents may have told you that they never locked the doors of their house. Now you need to have the latest alarm system, and thugs/thieves get around that (and with home invasions). But let us be frank about certain things. A number of prints of "lost" or banged up movies have been found in the possession of collectors (who definitely were not making money off of them). Many private collectors have rescued old classics from oblivion by the carelessness of the producing/distributing companies. A lot of music has been similarly preserved. What do you want to say? As long as Vivid can work profitable it is okay to steal from them? G.W. Pabst would have never been able to direct his masterpiece "Die Büchse der Pandora" with the lady in your avatar if Nero-Film hadn't produced it. If we want entertainment we have to support the production companies. Edited by - juha on 4/5/2010 4:01:05 PM

And you know this how? If you RAN Vivid, I doubt you would be able to say at what point, if any, the company would forsake DVD's for selling novelties, etc. Never mind that ANY company would be foolish and stupid to discontinue any product that was making money, even if it WASN'T making the money iit once did. Also, if you RAN Vivid, you'd be saying how uncompensated downloading was hurting you, instead of the reverse. Which is ultimately the gist of all this endless debate and spurious justification for helping yourself to what is not yours. You are getting something for nothing and that presents a dilemna. You can admit the truth that you are stealing but that makes you uncomfortable with yourselves. You can rationalize that it isn't stealing but something else. I call this the "Judge Judy Defense," because every defendant on that program who's ever sued for a debt he owes comes on and claims it wasn't a debt at all, it was a gift or an exchange for services rendered or manna from Heaven (THEY never get away with it either). The other thing you can do to molify your stealing is to justify it, i.e.say something like the victim of your theft deserves it or isn't harmed by it. This one you hear a lot from shoplifters (I know, I heard it when I was briefly in retail sales a million years ago). WalMart makes Billions of dollars a minute. Who cares if I steal one little CD? or Wal Mart's stuff is all this cheap Chinese shit; they rip us off, why shouldn't I return the favor All of these ratioalizations and justifications have been repeated many times. none of them change the original poster's accurate admission that what he, and all the rest of us do when we download or copy without fair remuneration is stealing porn. I'm only disappointed that I haven't heard anything REALLY original. I've had a couple of pretty good ideas myself. Maybe I'll log on as someone else and try a few here, just to liven it up.

Every time somebody says a word and make a statement, to certain people it means the poster (I in this instance) is advocating stealing. Lighten up a bit, will you? I was saying that certain things cannot be duplicated quickly or cheaply or at all, while some others can be? That's the physicality of things. Like I said I could put together a home-made bicycle in my garage, a boat or what have you. I may have taken the design(s) from somewhere and not paid anyone. What does it all mean? Someone can make a pair of shoes or a purse and someone can replicate it rather easily. Film shot on 35mm could not be easily duplicated unless you or someone were able to get hold of a 35mm (or 16 mm) print, have access to a lab and duplicate a copy (at a considerable cost). For the average citizen this was an impossible/expensive task. Pretty much the same thing for a vinyl 45/LP. When audio and video tape came along, while it was easier and cheaper for the producer to distribute that material, and make more money, it was also somewhat easier for the dishonest person to duplicate it. With the digital era, it get even more so. That is the price of progress, whether you like it not. Military secrets are stolen every day of the week. Military weapons are altered illegally by any nation of the world and not pay anyone (who may have and may be spending milions of dollars to develop and manufacture) any rights for them. Do you see governments suing each other over this? Yet if you were working for a military company that made certain weapons and found that what you or your compnay had developped had been lifted and altered by another foreign power, you would say hey you are taking food from my mouth and my employer will send me home and I will not be able to feed my family because of what you are doing? Does a bank stop making loans because a certain number of debtors fail to repay their debts or become skip debtors?

The job issue is what no one gets. This entire conumdrum affects more than just porn. If the Chinese eventually succeed in knocking off every product line we produce, then it is more than just a job issue, its a defense issue also. But ou are wrong on many fronts. . Firstly porn folks don't have to go after torrents/file sharing sites. The film and music industries are already after them. If they can't stop them with the vast resources they have at their disposal then there is nothing the porners can do. Tubes, on the other hand, are porn-specific problem. And they are much more dangerous than torrents and file sharing. Everyone is just a few clicks away from a free porn database containing thousands of full movies and scenes of all genres. How can anyone compete with such offer? For established porn companies there is simply no way that will allow them to survive alongside the tubes for longer than a few years. They are the part of the adult entertainment industry that will be utterly crushed by the new market environment created by the appearance of the tubes. Porn as a whole will survive. Some small producers can protect themselves against tubes by specializing on one particular ultra-tiny niche in which they can establish themselves as the sole provider of content and then carefully protecting it. Porn girls can offset some of the lost income from shooting scenes by concentrating on webcams/featuring/escorting. We the customers can always rely on amateur/semi-professional porn to satisfy our needs. But the companies are doomed, IMO, all of them. Even those who align themselves with tubes(brazzers), or try to do business with them (Jules Jordan) are fucked. Gigantic traffic that the tubes generate is a clear proof that the customer has learned that porn doesn't cost a thing. The only paying customers left are most likely mainly veteran raincoaters. Heck, I'd bet that half of the folks on this board who are regularly kissing the girls' asses in star crossed and maybe 9 of 10 of local IR junkies hasn't bought a single DVD or subscribed to a single paysite during the last 24 months.
