I find it pretty interesting that for the most part I found it sort of boring. It's nicely made, and I'm glad they made the effort, but I would have liked a little more in the way of creativity. Oh and also, what was in those fucking backpacks?? I know it was actual equipment and possessions for the actresses/crew, but it's pretty funny to see the women setting up a makeshift camp and lying on leaves, when they have massive backpacks crammed full of.....what? Also has to be said would have preferred if they broke the content into its separate parts, the feature presentation, the girl interviews and the panel, the panel might be interesting but I have zero interest in girl interviews which are usually brief and don't need or want to pay $/quota for HD of an hour of interviews. Tough one as really want to check this out and preview looks amazing.. TRAILER @ deception2015.com but am on data quota these days, and can't really justify 2 gig of interviews. Plus to release it as a DVD with 4k and 60fps these days seems to do it a disservice. Edit: Quick note I only looked at the top cover picture in the review .. which looked at the bottom of that pic with all the small print exactly like a new full feature release movie. Click to expand Hi Flash, Sorry for my rant just as often when expectation is set so high only leads to disappointment.. also I like Kink but not a big fan of the hogtied series, so when I discovered that it didn't help. Alrighty so after that thought I better buy it and see for myself.. The movie itself, editing, cinematography was superb and brilliantly done! +++++++++++++++++++++++++ WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD +++++++++++++++++++++++++ The opening sex scene was hot as often comment here I love intercut /dream sequences and it was executed perfectly. Would have liked more pervy lingering on the breasts and bikini bodies in the hot tub ;) Agree with Gore Gore Girl about the backpacks, they talk about camping and Cherry later even says she grabbed her from the tent, and how did the two of them build that shelter fortress :) Loved the ass cam throughout showing off their bums in the denim shorts. I think it may have been better if the attacker was faceless throughout, started that way then changed. Also Cherry's gag seem to be something she could easily get out of and she did at the end, kind of ruined that aspect for me. I would have loved to see some dildo action, and would have fit with the plot, and must say was thinking of Evil Dead. The snap edit and lighting change for Veruca especially the second time made it clear (for me) what the twist would be, and thinking afterwards the title too, but at the end of the day this is an adult film and the editing into and lighting of Veruca scenes was again brilliantly done. +++++++++++++++++++++++++ Overall the movie itself, editing, cinematography was superb, but not really into the hogtied channel but definitely going to take a much better look at their other features that are in channels I like as the movie was brilliantly done. The film looks great and the soundtrack is super groovy. Kay Parker, Aunt Peg, Dorothy Lemay, Tawny Pearl and Mike Ranger are captured in all their glory. The sex scenes in this film are very hot, no doubt that plus the intensity of the taboo breaking content and Kay's striking, melancholy central performance all contributed to this film's massive success. The orgy scene is full of very fine looking women as well, this may be one of the best shot orgies in the classic era. One is also struck by the simple earnestness of scenes where Kay spends the day looking for work (reminiscent of similar scenes in Scorsese's Alice Doesn't Live Here!) and then meets Aunt Peg for dinner and complains about how hard it is to find work when you're an older woman. How many porn films, or any films made in the US, would have such scenes today? In the commentary Helene mentions that her inspiration for the story came from an incest scene in the 70s TV movie Flesh and Blood between a lonely mother and her son. This film starred a young Tom Berenger and fades to black as the door closes on the mother and son. Helene's imagination was sparked by what if we saw what they were doing behind that door. She thought it would make a great story for a porn film and she was certainly proved right. [Link]

The transfer to DVD is pretty damn fantastic. Fievres Nocturnes stood out to me, but less because of the story, and more because it was her last movie. Seems to me that Alpha France has actually been overprotective of their brand, where a lot of US studios have handled their own catalogue recklessly. For example, it's rather hard to get the Alpha France DVDs outside of France these days. For classic/vintage material, physical media is important - both personally and to our customers. And for reasons I just can't fathom, the people who handle the AF collection seem unwilling to work with retailers outside their home country. We're lucky that we do have a good relationship with a wholesaler in France, allowing us to offer them at what we consider a reasonable price. As far as the American stuff, it's a shame so many took such a cavalier attitude towards their catalogue. Something is better than nothing, but fans of classic features like us deserve better than what we often times get. On the topic of French classic features, we've also been screening/listing some VHS era shows from Dorcel that are hit and miss in terms of A/V quality, but they do have a certain charm. Then again, I'm a sucker for 80's fashion/aesthetic/sensibility. The only real downside beyond unpredictable A/V quality is that they're consistently shorter movies, hovering around an hour long each. Ma Cousine de Paris stood out to me - telling that time-honoured 'country comes to town' story. [Link]

One weakness of the Eurofilms for me is that the male performers are often unattractive and lack the charisma of the American male performers. I wonder why that is. [Link]

It starts off promisingly enough with Scudder interviewing people camped out on the street for the parade that suggests it may be an odd docu-porn hybrid like Overnight Sensations but soon shifts to a party that Scudder attends with his buddy Holmes which becomes an extended 70s orgy scene. Later this scene which apparently was recorded is accidentally broadcast in the middle of the parade and inspires one housewife to have spontaneous sex with a family friend (IR) while her husband sleeps on the couch, awakening occasionally to demand she bring him a beer. After that a series of vignettes are intermixed with the parade sequences that are rather randomly edited into it all. There is one interesting and odd sequence where a man tries to wake his partner up for sex but when she won't awaken he jerks off to Johnny Carson on the TV! Then in the morning the husband won't wake up and the wife masturbates. The women are all very fresh and unpornlike in a refreshing way. Some of the scenes end without cumshots and begin with flaccid penises, definitely locating it in the earlier part of the 70s before those conventions had become requirements. There's some thoughtless era-typical forced sex near the end. Set in a gym and loosely plotted around a bodybuilding competition. Very much done in the style of 80s sex comedies with a broadly played pair of goofy 'bad guys' trying to subvert a rival gym for the big competition. The humour isn't bad for this type of film and starts off with an extended scene of the two baddies caught by Lee and the gym girls, who are then tied up for some light BDSM punishment. This scene seems to suggest something pretty perverse but the pegging/rape of the big guy in the duo is faked and the promise of a kinky sex scene doesn't materialize. Maybe all those Colt/De Renzy movies have desenitized me. :p Lee looks amazing here, as does Shanna McCullough and Erica Boyer. Appropriate to the setting of a gym the guys are all pretty buff and attractive too. Tigr has a small role but is paired with a guy who has wood problems. Eric Edwards has a small but well done role as a TV reporter. I kinda wish the promise of a slighly kinky and broad 80s sex comedy was sustained through the whole film as it kinda just breaks down into a stream of sex scenes but with the likes of Erica and Shanna in the cast it is hard to complain. It does manage to have an amusing and coherent finale though. PS. Pretty clumsy title here (and even worse title song) and the film ends with a line about 'Let's get physical' that is either a lead in to the Lee film with a similar name or it was intended to be the original title. There used to be a TV show called SevenRock here in Australia similar to MTV and sometimes featured uncut adult music videos to close the show, one Friday night my folks had a single Mum friend over for dinner and her son and I happened to be watching this part of the show in the family room next door when they walked in and Mum got quite upset they were showing this kind of thing on TV. She's also terrific in a starring role in WOMAN IN LOVE (1980). I was able to watch a few more of her obscure films so here is a short list of more from Laurien Dominique: That's her in the last sex scene of Bob Chinn's HOT LEGS aka GAIL PALMER'S HOT LEGS (1979) that's more of a starring vehicle for the lovely Jesie St. James, who stirs up trouble for Richard Pacheco's ad agency photo shoots on the front end of this solid production---!!! 1/2, Laurien and Serena show up for multi couple-action at the end of ANTICIPATION (1982) in a production with a many one hit wonder starlets---the good news is that Vinegar Syndrome has done a terrific job restoring the film to its wide screen glory---the bad news is that these other performers are pretty bad at delivering dialog so I never quite made it through this odd film, Eric Edwards and a starlet named Drea are DOING IT (1982) as the duo takes to the road on their motorcycle for many adventures including sex with some sort of religious cult that includes Laurien as one of The Followers. Really washed-out outdoor photography hurts this one---!! 1/2, Laurien gets a rare starring role in CALENDAR GIRL aka CALENDAR GIRL '83 (1983) that also contains a rare 30 minute long, dimly lit, sex scene highlight between Laurien and a one-time performer named Russell Gray, who plays a leather clad biker guy that handcuffs Laurien to a wall and has his way with her. Too bad most of Laurien Dominque's screen time is poorly photographed---!!!, Laurien seems to have a great time starring in HARD SOAP aka HARD SOAP, HARD SOAP (1976) as she plays the wife/secretary of Dr. John Holmes and takes it upon herself to cure his patients of their sexual problems in his absence. Holmes returns in time to bone a blind woman that restores her eyesight (!) while Laurien Dominque gets ass fucked by the janitor (Paul Thomas), sucks and fucks the milk man and finally hooks up with Holmes for the finale. DOUBLE.. is the second and final film Carter made with the Taylor twins, this is a much more competently made but also way less odd film than their first. The storyline is pretty ragged with a detective hunting down a pair of twins who ran away with their Dad's money to NYC. Lots of sex scenes with the twins though, including some sister-on-sister action if that's your thing. I kinda dig their plain Jane looks and it is always fun to watch people eat fondue in 70s porn but things do drag. Bobby Astyr pops up playing a broad gay photographer and the subsequent group scene features a young Hershel Savage (the film was released around 78'). The film perks up a bit when the smoking hot Rikki O'Neal does a scene. Need to seek out more films with her, she did several NYC films. The ending is undeniably something to see as the Taykor twins literally meet their match in the form of a male pair of twins, the Hartman brothers, their only appearance in xxx or anywhere for that matter. Black 6, Your assessment is spot on. It's well crafted by Carter plus enough other performers grab the spotlight from the Taylor twins, who I find pretty scrawny and kinda dull. Their encounter with the Hartman twin brothers interested me most and Carter blew a chance to end this flick with a freeze frame of the twins switching twin partners. I was a bit surprised the twins did not switch twins (then switch back) during the actual scene so maybe one or both sets of twins had nixed that idea? I like Rikki O'Neal, too, but I'm guessing she never stayed around long enough to land a starring role. Her bookending sex scenes in SECRETS OF A WILLING WIFE give that film a needed boost. Not sure that I've seen much else with her except DEBBIE DOES DALLAS. Edit!---I watched parts of ANGIE, UNDERCOVER COP with Rikki as the title character but this flick is incredibly inept plus there's this raving lunatic priest or pastor character that forces use of fast forward button! INDECENT EXPOSURE (1981)---A Robert Mc Callum production from 1981---R Bolla plays this goofy photographer character who takes to the road with Veronica Hart, Jessie St. James and Eric Edwards as assistants. Along the way, Eric hooks up with real life love Arcadia Lake playing a liberated new age chick. Bolla's Italian shtick gets old fast but that mostly disappears for the finale when a mysterious woman (Georgina Spelvin) manipulates the couples upon their arrive at her mansion for a photoshoot. Well-crafted but the intercut duo of sex scenes for the finale is a bit predictable then that's pretty much it---!!! or !!! 1/2 outta !!!!! THE PLAYGIRL (1982)---A Robert Findlay film from 1982---In this mostly terrific NYC production, Veronica plays Laura, who has a "Pygmalion complex," so she loves and leaves all these aspiring creative types including an artist (George Payne), a rock and roller (Bobby Astyr, who looks hilarious here), all the while being married to a book publisher (Ashley Moore) plus she finds time to team with a girlfriend (Tiffany Clark) to suck and fuck an under aged young guy. Midway through, Laura begins molding an aspiring writer (R Bolla, whose in most of the remaining sex scenes) and after molding him, Laura inexplicably falls for the cocky novelist just in time for one of those romantic sex scene encounters for the finale She should have kicked him to the curb like the others!---!!! 1/2 or !!!! outta !!!!! LITTLE GIRLS LOST aka DEEP INSIDE HOLLYWOOD (1982)---Wow, what a surprise! This flick basically takes the Veronica Hart character from ROOMMATES (1981---!!!!!) and drops her into this cynical tale of three actresses sharing an apartment and trying to make it in the movies. Gena Lee plays the aspiring actress-turned-slut who sucks and fucks her way into a relationship with a slimy producer, who also supplies her with ample blow/cocaine. Veronica's sordid plight begins with her being drugged on a photo shoot to a doomed relationship with her acting teacher to an escorting gig that gets a little rough. The new girl in town, Tigr meets John Leslie in an acting class and those two have a difficult go as Tigr tries to avoid the casting couch and make it on her acting abilities alone. Will she give in to the sexual demands of a producer dangling a huge role for the finale? Splendid performances. No extraneous girl/girl sexual encounters. This one is almost impossible to find (oop and never on DVD), so thanks to the dude on adultdvdmarketplace for making DVD copies from a VHS tape. This one is very much like PARTY DOLL A GO GO in approach and aesthetic. It isn't just a retread, though. It has the weird editing and speaking to camera (which I really like) but there's something else to it that feels more subversive...can't quite put my finger on it. [Link]

Not sure I can really call myself a fan of the Dark Bros. in general. Rewatched BABYFACE. Just kinda blown away by the quality of the print, water damage later on aside. Paul Thomas and Desiree West's intense racial psychosexual scene is both creepy and hot. And of course Kristine Heller's rightly legendary gang bang, easily the best ever shot. Depressing to think that the same director capable of capturing this much erotic energy on screen would be reduced to the life-denying gonzo of Rex Borsky by the 90s. De Renzy's black humour always bubbles with overt misogyny and misandry but Seagram's bizarre Morrissey/Warhol/Waters-like performance pushes past mere mockery of a blue nose to a disturbing pathos by her final scene. Little Sisters may be more subversively perverse; Femmes De Sade may be nastier and Pretty Peaches more note perfect but this is still one of the finest porn comedies ever . [Link]
