Music will keep on being produced because people love to do it. Before there was such a thing as a recording industry there were early country and blues musicians everywhere, and now bands can and do produce records just as great as Zeppelin and Floyd in their own home studios. So I don't agree with you that the internet will ultimately hurt a cultural product like music to the same degree. Film will utimately be impacted more due to the huge production costs involved. But porn on the other hand, few to none do just for the love of it, and production costs can't get any lower than the gonzo glut already drove it.
the old model is producers and directors exploiting and abusing young performers. maybe some of those guys have found a more lucrative business model. the scumbags who don't pirate yet may then complain about their exploitative work being exploited.
Why the hell are porn companies standing by and letting Brazzers run tube sites like Porn**b that are so clearly and brazenly stealing content, encouraging piracy and providing the content for their own benefit?! Why do the owners of the content Brazzers are stealing not all get together and get these sites taken down from the likes of Google? Brazzers are making (huge amounts of) money off the back of your hard work providing pirated content to direct more sales to their own network. I can't believe you guys are letting them get away with it to be honest. If I go on there I can see 30 minutes plus content from all the rival big internet networks and DVD companies and yet funnily enough there's not a single bit of Brazzers content longer than 5 minutes. It is so obviously they are essentially f*cking you in the ass with a rusty spade and laughing while they do it. I didn't know Brazzers were this unethical, they're essentially killing porn so that they can own it. Guys I hope you get together, work in harmony, and get these sites taken down both the ones run by Brazzers and the ones that aren't.
Not only are they standing by and letting it happen, they're in bed with them. Jules Jordan, porn's biggest hypocrite, is a poster child for this phenom.A lot of the companies are no longer. A lot are struggling to maintain their business and have no time chasing pirates. If you read some of Brandon's posts here, it's a very difficult game. Here's how it works: Brazzer's claims these are all "user submitted" videos. They place their DMCA on the site, and sure, they'll remove it if done with proper channels. And then, guess what? A few months later the content is back up again. Of course there's no full-length Brazzer videos up there. I'm starting to wonder now if part of the deal Jules cut with these guys is to make sure there's no "user submitted" Jules Jordan product up there. Who knows. This is the battle. This is the war. The only thing we can hope for is the business model implodes. Once the surfers figure out they're not getting laid off "The Facebook of Sex" and "Adult Friend Finder" and they're not gonna add 4 inches to their dicks overnight, maybe that revenue stream will dry up, and the bandwidth bills will kill them. But it's doubtful. And with big-named directors like Jules adding to their revenue stream by distributing their DVD's, it's gonna make things very, very tough. Jules -- I'm gonna say this again: don't you fucking cry-baby ANY more about Blacks on Blondes and what happened a decade ago. That debt's been settled. Time for you to do the same.

Plain and simple BULLSHIT You have been shown conclusively that brazzers owns some of the biggest tubesites on the net. Now either grow some fucking balls and say Ya Im doing biz with them and putting money in their pockets and Im not going to stop or Stop your denial is wearing thin, it either makes you look like a moron or a liar
I respectfully disagree. People love going to the movies, and as long as theaters are money makers the movie industry will be fine. Also, the technology to make Avatar will be available on your home pc in 10 years, so the cost of such a production will be driven DOWN by technology. Computer graphics are going to be the real game changer. No longer will you need a studio or actors and actresses. THEN the industry will die, because anyone with a laptop will be able to make photo-realistic CGI movies for next to nothing.
cry baby? you guys are still benefitting off my content as shown on links in my previous posts...I was never paid shit....you wouldnt be around if it wasnt for BOB previous infringement.....how long you wanna keep this up?.....I have no "deals" with any tube sites...what real efforts have you made to combat piracy, I spent $2.5 million in lawsuits for copyright infringement of my stuido and others......you werent even around to remember adultbouncer.com......I feel like a broken record....Billy shut the fuck up please...Billy you're real battle should be with the advertisers and affiliates of the tube sites......not dvd distributors...

My understanding is the majority of movies no longer make back their money and get decent profit in the theaters. It's a combination of theaters, home video sales, PPV and networks leasing the rights to show the movies that make back their money and get decent profit.
MOD: billywatson, MikeSouth stop attacking julesjordanvideo. You all have made the points you were trying to make and it's now straight out harassment.
Hollywood is very good at hiding profits: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hollywood_accounting Many of the films that they CLAIM did not make money, made tons of money. They do this in order to minimize payments to investors with a percentage stake or to low ball future contracts.
Somebody is making a lot of money, yet everyone is claiming that no one is making any money. There are billions of dollars in revenue from the sale of pornography.
In the case of porn, I think alot of the profit is NOT to be made by producers but by the multinational corporations that distribute porn to hotels and satellite providers. These middle men make much more than the actual porn producers. Also there are more people in the game. Everybody their momma wants to make some porn and a fast buck. With so many companies competing the pie is just smaller compared to the number of people eating it now.
MOD: Billywatson, this is the last warning. Stop the attacks or this thread is done.

Came too late to this... it's degenerated into a bunch of silly threads and WHARGARBL... but I can sum it up in one problem: it's not worth watching. First and foremost, porn MUST be a vicarious experience. If it is not, everything else is pointless. The old school porn featured people who mostly looked like us (guys) or were stunning (girls). Porn had as many glamour girls as girls next door. People fucked like they wanted to and it bore some resemblance to the sex we have. Old school porn (and these days, 90s porn qualifies as old school) featured GND to beautiful women with modest plastic surgery having enthusiastic sex with everyman types (Byron, Mike Horner, Steve Drake, etc.) and I could relate and get into it. Porn today? Steroid-and-Viagra laden guys who could easily pass for a Colt Studios actor (gay porn that specializes in muscleheads), women who have more artificial ingredients than bologna (I detest implants, piercings and ink), having passionless piston sex in unnatural positions that none of us would ever consider. I look at modern US porn and see guys who look nothing like me having sex with girls I'd never fuck in positions that would kill my back and with all the enthusiasm of someone going to the bathroom. That's why I spend more time on the Vintage Erotica site these days, and about the only current girl I like is Sunny Lane. Even there, I hate her scenes because of the way they are shot. Look at a 20 year old Vivid movie vs. now. The angles, positions, everything, has changed quite a bit and not for the better, IMO.
there are two forces acting on individual consumers: the ethics of paying for a product, and the impossibility of paying for all the porn we want. anything that appeals to the base drive of sex is more of an impulse purchase than a rational budgeted expense. going the all free pirated route may seem necessary to many people to stay out of bankruptcy, if they're not already unemployed and bankrupt. even if all piracy is stopped, porn may die anyway in a dead economy.
In the interests of moving forward and creating workable solutions to problems, can someone -- ANYONE -- who represents www.pornhub.com explain their position? It seems that absolutely no one has a clue who is accountable. I am interested in hearing more about the stated policy on the site: Pornhub.com abides by the following procedures to ensure compliance: - Requiring all users to be 18 years of age to upload videos. - When uploading, user must verify the content; assure he/she is 18 years of age; certify that he/she keeps records of the models in the content and that they are over 18 years of age. I do not know who owns the site. All I know is that I do not have any business dealings with them and do not want content I own to be on their sites (tube8, keezmovies, pornhub, and extremetube). Since the same registrant runs filestube (and possibly others, too), this group is a serious threat to everyone's content. One clip I own has 1.1 million views. It's been up less than 6 months. Yikes. The DMCA route is frustrating as the same clips keep being uploaded time and time again. There isn't a more important thread on this board, in my humble opinion.
Brandon -- Brazzers won't even show up at industry events anymore. I dunno if you were at the LA Webmaster converntion a year or so ago, but it got ugly. Since then, you won't these dudes at them, or, if they show, they're misrepresenting themselves. No one from Pornhub is gonna say shit in their defense, because they have none. Here's their position: generate more traffic that anyone ever's been able to accomplish using stolen content whilst hiding behind a DMCA law. The End.
To say something nice, I can tell you that I did meet Keez (who, I'll assume, owns or controls keezmovies) at a strip club in Montreal. I had sent several DMCA notices to him prior to this meeting, all of which were ignored. The meeting was by chance as I was introduced by a mutual friend. He was friendly and personable....even shook my hand. The next day, my fresh DMCA notice got a reply and the content was removed. Unfortunately, all of it (as far as I can tell) is now back up on the site. I don't have the time, money, or resources to fight this alone.
Yes you 2 guys need to stop speaking the truth about Jules because he pays way more to ADT then you ever will. Neither one of you generate enough income for us so we will cut you off, if you speak the truth of our boy.
Well Brandon, a simple whois check has all arrows pointing to Brazzers, at least for two of the bigger ones. All of the domains are registered at same address and hosted on the same servers, I can't imagine it's a coincidence. Answer: Yes, Jules Jordan. BTW, Brandon you are being far to diplomatic. Truth be told you and others like you will be put out of business because of tube sites ripping off your hard work. You should be outraged...
I'm sure he is outraged but probably feeling a little helpless, i mean even people/companies within the industry are providing pirate copies of his material for their own gain.
Well this seems like a heated topic for me to make my first post, But I don't believe true porn is dying, I personally only watch porn on DVD, and am always buying new titles, I personally don't care for Brazzers as a company, But I'm a huge fan of Jules Jordan and his company, and I frankly don't believe he is doing any business with them other than DVD distrobution, it just seems highly doubtful to me, as far as I'm concerned, the real pornographers still making movies on DVD and blu-ray are the last honest people in the business, other than the performers, these internet franchises are way too convoluted to be taken seriously in my opinion, Companies like JJV, Evil Angel, and even Zero Tolerance are at the forefront of what I feel is the only "real" pornography out there, and I know i'm not alone in that, so so long as those companies and other like them are going strong, porn as we know it will be just fine, somewhere in the next decade a new business model will be created to allow these companies to continue making movies, even after tangible media has gone out of fashion.
That's all the business he's doing with them...and that makes it OK? And you're talking about one of the top guys in the biz moving a ton of titles for the pirates. Uh huh. How about you tell your hero to quit doing ANY business with pirates. People never cease to amaze me.
It has nothing to do with that. If Jules was speaking the same way about billywatson and mikesouth I would have warned him instead. It's all about the etiquette here.
I like Brandons stuff. But as a small business owner I told myself years ago that when my job quit being fun, it would be time to leave. That is what worries me. I see the fun factor dropping for a great many in this industry. They won't post arguments here, they won't get into fights with others. Instead, they will just leave the industry or quit making stuff I like to watch. People can rationalize getting porn for free all they want, but those who make great porn aren't going to make it for free and aren't going to stick around much longer if they have to spend more time protecting their livelihoods than they do furthering it. I wouldn't and neither would anyone else. I'm sorry Brandon, Billy and others. I have no solutions. I buy your stuff and hope you continue to make it, but I understand if the frustration eventually overshadows your passions.

Revenues in the porn industry have been exaggerated for decades, google the Forbes article that shows what the industry was really making, and this was before the massive turn down in DVD sales.
Y'know why He is my hero? Because he has always been real about what he does, and he fought and won a multimillion dollar piracy case a few years ago, so why would he knowingly turn a blind eye to piracy? I don't disagree that Brazzers is a scuzzy company, but Jules isn't to blame for that, I think you just want to blame him because he is successful and changed the industry for the better, you can't deny JJV's popularity, as I said before, they along with Evil Angel and Zero Tolerance are the only brands that matter today. So Screw Brazzers and Screw piracy.

It's seams to me the only reason Jules does not have as harsh of words in reply to BillyWatson & MikeSouth is because they are speaking the truth & calling a Squid a Squid. It's hard to reply back when people are calling you out with what could be true facts. like BillyWatson pointed out, The #1 way to get out of a topic that you cannot win because it is based on facts is to deflect. "Yeah But (Pause) quick look over here I think you did something 10 yrs ago, What about thaaat" The edicate rules stat to speak to the person as if you are in there presence. I think they have done just that, but sometimes there are no real ways to soften the facts when speaking badly of a King that cannot defend.

I haven't read every post in this thread but it's very interesting and important. I believe I have workable solutions, and I thought I'd share them. 1. Brazzers, BangBros, Vivid (and others) all need to sign legal agreements and front money to create the iTunes of porn. The big companies need to make it easy (and realistic) to buy single porn scenes. $2.50 per scene is an attractive price. Everyone's product gets loaded on this version of iTunes and let competition decide the winners/losers. Porn producers who aren't "big enough" to join in the upfront development must share a percentage of profits for 2 years so the upfront developers don't get stuck "footing the bill." However Apple manages songs/vids rights, use it. 2. Stop signing pornstars to exclusive contracts. That old dinosaur hollywood model didn't work in the 30s. It doesn't work today. You're only driving A-list talent to construct their own sites/content anyway... 3. If the porn industry is serious about having Gov't involvement to policy piracy, then the only way for the Gov't to acknowledge the porn industry is through unionizing the creative talent. A union will actually take away the cigar-smoke, backroom shady aspect of porn and legitimize it.
You know something, bro, I looked up to Jules, too. There's no denying he's one of the best. Maybe the best. There's no denying he's fought piracy, either. It's just a shame to see one of the best partnering with the beast. Jules is making a bad business decision...ethically. He's going to profit from his partnership with Brazzers, and, in the meantime, sink the industry even further. Maybe that's the plan. Who knows. Less competition means he keeps the Bentley. In the meantime, he's going to point his finger at others and cry about things that happened years ago...and then, when confronted about it, behave like a kid on the playground. Compound that with constantly referring himself as "a legend" and reminding us all how his "name alone sells DVD's", and it's easy to see why people are on the attack. Oh wait. We're in porn. Shit. I almost forgot. Who's ethical? Who's humble?
LMFAO Let me tell you a story, MOD. Yesterday afternoon I was talking to Male Talent in my parking lot. Male Talent who, like most of the other people in this industry -- both male and female -- have had their jobs slashed. Male Talent has been working his ass off to get shooting gigs. He's good, too. I know, cause time to time, when I have a few extra bucks, I'll hire him to shoot a bj scene for my site. His main gig as a shooter comes from someone who's contributing to this very thread. I won't name names, but I will say he doesn't shoot for Jules. Male Talent just got a text. From his producer. No more funds to shoot. Male Talent was just told to start looking for something else cause Producer can no longer sustain his business due to rapidly diminishing DVD sales. It's tough to compete against free, and when Keeze Movies, Tube 8 and Porn Hub play your ENTIRE movie for free, well...no wonder people are losing their jobs. Their livelihood. No one who reads this can compete with free. I don't care what your business is, if someone can get what you're offering for free, YOU'RE DONE. So, EXCUSE FUCKING ME IF I TEND TO LOSE MY TEMPER WITH JULES MOTHERFUCKING JORDAN AND THE CREW HE RUNS WITH. End of rant. You may continue. Edited by - billywatson on 1/19/2010 12:28:25 PM

Threatening to close the thread doesn't do justice to anyone. The question was asked why porn is dying, you are given good answers, you don't like the answers so you threaten to close the thread....nice. Im not attacking Jules, simply pointing out that he is a part of whats wrong with porn, he made a deal with the devil and his deal hurts everyone in porn. Sadly the real answer to tubesites is probably going to come in the form of legislation, but even at that it simply moves offshore. eventually all video will be streaming, encrypted and it will work, as I speak streaming players are being developed that will put the users id and ip address into the video, so if it isripped, the identity of the party will be known. So these guys are going to fuck the consumers too because download and play is going to disappear as a model. Jules should be ashamed of himself, I have known him for ages, I know his history from working in Fishbeins video store in Philly to where he is now. Jules owes a certain debt to people who helped him along the way and that debt would not include aiding in their demise.
A current search of one of the popular Usenet indexing search engines reveals over 250 adult websites, in their entirety, have been fully ripped and made available for download in just the last 15 days. 2 weeks, 250 websites ALL CONTENT totally free. Fucking unbelievable.
They also state: Adult DVD Talk is a Friendly Community Treat fellow posters as neighbors. Please be respectful of each other and each other's threads. If what someone has posted angers you, wait until you calm down before you respond or simply don't respond. Think before posting. Trolling (baiting people by intentionally posting inflammatory messages) or incessantly harping on an issue/person will lead to the deactivation of your account.
Given the following, what tone would you suggest is appropriate for someone in my position? 1. My entire library online has been siteripped and made available via links on www.filestube.com. Their motto is "Download everything" and they are not joking. 2. www.filestube.com's own policy is: You can submit your UserId from Rapidshare.com or links for single files, uploaded previously on one of the following systems: rapidshare.com megaupload.com megashares.com yousendit.com savefile.com filefront.com badongo.com You can also submit a link to direct file. 3. Registrant info for www.filestube.com: Domains by Proxy, Inc. DomainsByProxy.com 15111 N. Hayden Rd., Ste 160, PMB 353 Scottsdale, Arizona 85260 United States 4. I don't know these people but there are 46,668,827 files indexed on www.filestube.com. Mine are amongst them and it absolutely, positively kills me after I've invested a fortune (well, a Brandon Iron-sized "fortune") in my content. 5. Anyone who has anything to do, directly or indirectly, with whomever owns or controls this site is contributing to my demise. While that may be a good thing, I would ask what a reasonable person should do in response. I will be careful to keep a respectful tone, I promise.
I'm not against anyone here. I'm honestly looking for help/advice and I'm pro-porn all the way. Just making that perfectly clear. Also, to be fair, Jules' content is available as a siterip, too. Most sites probably are or soon will be. I'm just stunned that nothing can be done to stop this. Someone, somewhere, is convulsing with laughter.
1. No. 2. You can't stop piracy without infringing on existing privacy rights. The porn industry needs to adapt to the situation as is and stop living in a dream world where people rely on retail stores to fulfill their needs. The way to make money with copyrighted stuff is niche content with reduced popularity. The way to make money with popular stuff is generating income streams that don't rely on copyright, instead of throwing money at a lost fight. Offer services related to content instead of content. Music and games have largely shifted to this model (iTunes/Steam), the movie industry is in the process of shifting. Porn has gone towards the subscription-based model, but this is also crackling. 3. People wouldn't buy most of the stuff they pirate. The idea that piracy is the only culprit or that any pirate gives a shit about uploaded stuff getting pulled off a server is a grand delusion. 90% of cases nobody will go out and by something just because they couldn't find it for free. It's just porn. Even if you can protect your own stuff, your paid content is still competing with other people's pirated content (free), so the weakest link in the chain effects everyone in the industry. Unless YOUR protected content is unique (niche) no pirate will pay for it. Edited by - unkwnusr2 on 1/19/2010 6:09:39 PM
