I do appreciate the feedback/advice. I really do. It feels like a David/Goliath battle at this point. I called a different representative of Brazzers today (Josie, who contacted me last year to license content. I refused the offer, politely. It appears that some people use content with or without a license.) I was assured that the principles are very well, "principled" and that they would never knowingly be caught misusing the content of others. All I care about are results. If I can gain control of what was bought and paid for by me, it's all worthwhile. I just wonder if that's even possible. I left my number with Josie and asked for a return call from the person she reports to. No return call....same as Keez. The problem with people like this is the wide gulf between what is said and what is done.

I’m late to the party, I’m a lurker on here, but let me give you an honest take on why this industry MIGHT be dying. Although, in a sense I feel this word “dying” is overfabricated and people just aren’t making the big bucks they used to. Ie, the porn owner can no longer drive a Rolls Royce, so he has to downgrade to a Bentley. - First off, I’m gonna ruffle feathers, but it’s just my opinion. Porn is immoral. No way to sugarcoat it. Lets just be frank. The average person feels porn is immoral and wrong, therefore the need to hide it, have discreet shipping, not tell people they watch, I could go on and on. If someone is already indulging in something that’s immoral, how big of a deal is it to download a file w/o paying for it? You guys call it stealing, and you’re right, it is…but it’s just an extension of another wrong the way many people see it. - Secondly, the industry has been taking advantage of it’s customers for a long time. Why in the world, would a porn DVD need to cost $35? I know people have overhead and such, but if I can buy a brand new blu-ray Hollywood movie for $17, why would a non-HD porn movie still cost $35? Or why buy a 90min DVD for that price, when I could sign up to a web site and have access to thousands of hours of their entire library for $25/month? It’s like high dollar prostitutes complaining about their lack of customers, b/c women at a bar will give it up for free…or at least the cost of a few drinks. In the past, if someone had an affinity for Jenna Jameson and wanted all her scenes, that’d be a nice profit for the porn companies, but the customer would be out of thousands of dollars and a left with a bunch of scenes for other girls he cares nothing for. I just don’t see how any of you guys can think that fantasy world could continue. Hey, face it. People addicted to something(and porn can be/is an addiction), we all know what addicts do. Anything to get what they want. Look at what so many girls in porn over the years are willing to do b/c they themselves have substance abuse issues…but that’s another story. Point is, addictions and the “need to have something” make people do just about anything at the moment. Let’s also consider that porn has always been on the internet. It started as just pictures, then it progressed to 5 sec video clips as teasers, then trailers, then hq pictures, now it’s hq movies. To the average viewer, it’s just a natural progression, and to a 15-16 year old kid(who shouldn’t be watching anyway), a tube site or torrent is the end all, be all and its all they’ve ever known porn to be. Thirdly - to build on what I just said, porn is an impulse thing. Now maybe 15+ years ago, you had ZERO alternative, but to buy the DVD/VHS, then wait for it in the mail several days, then get it and watch…or face the shame of walking into a adult vid store and hoping no one sees you. Now, the internet feeds into the momentary urge that sex is, and the privacy aspect. Example, if someone wants to see a big butt Asian chick, they can search for it on the internet. They see it, they download it. To me, it’s kinda like rappers complaining about people illegally downloading, burning rap music. You’re in a business that promotes thievery, rebelliousness, illegality, defiance. So yeah, some of your customers, if given the chance, are gonna act out in that same manner. I don’t see country music with that same issue…no other genre has that problem bigger than rap music. While your plight is VERY real from a business standpoint, you're not going to convince some random guy who is stealing porn that they are the ones who are immoral when they're dl'ing a scene where a woman has multiple shots of semen on her face.
Lastly, who wants to have a drawer full of porno in their house? The average male does not. Heck, maybe if my old man didn’t have that copy of “Debbie Does Dallas” hiding in the closet when I was a kid, maybe I’d be a little less lighter in the pocket and this whole porno thing would’ve never began for me. Brazzers really? I learn something everyday. Brazzers owns most of the torrent sites? If that is true, that should be an easy one to shut down. I have known Jules for a very long time, since he started, and he has always been a really stand up guy. Somehow I doubt that he is involved with torrent sites in any way shape or form. I can see why the industry is going down. Porn consumers have been jaded for a long time. We do not trust the box covers to accurately portray what the contents will be. That is the studio's fault. Pirates allow us to see something new without risk of purchasing something that sucks. I made a mini tube site a while back. It a had a few videos for download. No one was downloading my content. It wasn't until I included streaming links to the same clips that I got some downloads. It wasn't popular but I did learn a few things. People want to look at porn. It takes something extra for them to want to put forth effort or money for it. Low Quality streams of good scenes have always sent me looking for the HQ versions. If you make a DVD with 7 scenes. Stream 3 or 4 in Low quality right there on your own website. Customers will want to purchase the DVD's or hq downloads because they just got turned on by the scene they just saw. You can put ads in the middle of the free streams as well. There are lots of ways to give away free streams of your content, protect it, and encourage purchasing it. Pirates do what they do for props, there's no props in pirating readily available media. Example: Before the networks started streaming their own shows pirated TV was popular. Now most streaming tv sites link back to the network sites. I just think that DRM and all that crap is never going to be the answer. The only way to beat pirating is to make it unnecessary.
What you just described is immaturity. That is likely as big of a contributor to piracy as anything else, to be sure, but anyone who feels the need to hide their sexuality from anyone other than children just isn't a grown up. The piracy of it is just an extension of this immaturity. The immorality you speak of is inside the person who does it, not the content they steal.

No. I didn't say that. There's a big difference between Tubes and torrents -- just like there's legal and illegal tubes. Brazzers owns/operates three of the biggest Tube sites, which account for hundreds of millions of impressions each month. They are illegal tube sites. (I might add the legal tubes, which are used by affiliates to resell sites, don't usually show full scenes, and they content on them is either licensed and / or made available by content owner...and these legal sites are WAY LESS TRAFFICKED than illegal tubes -- for obvious reasons) Surfers, while still using Torrent sites, are leaving them more and more and going to Tube sites due to speed (no DLing) and ease of use. In fact, one of the biggest torrents -- Rapidshare -- will actually respond / remove content when notified (which, as apparent in this thread, separates them from Brazzer's tubes). I have to correct you here Billy. Rapidshare is not a torrent site. Rapidshare is a file-hosting site. It's a bad bad site no doubt, but it's not a torrent site. Also, from my experience the Brazzers' owned tube sites do take down content when sent a proper notice. Now whether or not they were actually the ones that uploaded it in the first place is up for debate, but when notified they do take down content. What's not really up for debate is whether or not Brazzers owns those tube sites. Don't try reasoning with the in-denial Jules Jordan. Even if you showed him hard evidence, he'd still continue to deny it. He'll call you a "stalker" if you show overwhelming proof. He's the king of denial. Jules I appreciate your "open door" offer, however didn't we already try this? If I try to talk to you like an adult will you send your heavy over to whisk me away again?

I have been following this thread and have found the relationship history and convoluted business associations very interesting. It's like high school all over again. However, one thing is glaringly apparent, Jules Jordan thinks that he has single handedly taken on this problem on behalf of the "Porn Industry". The reports of the death of porn are greatly exaggerated. As pixel density and resolution dimensions increase for most viewers, high quality, high bit-rate media will be in higher demand. "tube" type content distribution will have to evolve significantly just to keep pace with real content producers who will continue to be able to charge a premium for fresh, high quality content

I am six feet tall and almost 500 pounds and could take on most people, I think that qualifies me as a goon. Unfortunately, I live in MI, you live in FL and Jules lives in his gated CA home. Just an FYI, Brazzers is the biggest target of another type of theft out there that hasn't even been mentioned in this thread yet. Their scenes get downloaded *directly* off their main website non-stop from guys out there who never paid for a subscription. You can rid the internet of all the tube sites, torrent sites, filesharing hosts, p2p networks, newsgroups - and Brazzers content will still be stolen in mass on a daily basis. But the problem with Brazzers operating tube sites is that it legitimizes the practice in the minds of consumers. You guys would be surprised how large a percentage of people think Limewire is a fully legitimate software program for obtaining music. Take those people, plus take those who look at tube sites owned by Brazzers, and people will say "Brazzers' name is behind it, the content owners must be being adequately compensated from the subscriptions and ad revenues." I have never heard of Limewire up to today, I assume that it is similar to the old Napster before they went to subscription status (free to use and "free" downloads). I guess the RIAA (as well as the porn companies) has another problem on their hands, and it is spelled BRAZZERS! While I have your attention, I have a question. I have been subscribing to emusic for a few months now at $11.99 monthly for 24 songs or 2 albums. I had assumed it is legit and the producers of that music get paid. I would like to confirm it with someone in the know (that price is in the gray area of knowing their legitimacy) and you seem to be up on the industry in making your claim about Limewire, Just Me. Is emusic legit?
As I am sure you all are painfully aware, copyright piracy is not the main obstacle, its effect is in direct proportion to not only the popularity of content, but the ability of said content to inspire comment. If your content is well received but not controversial, you may lose more to "real" interest in a more widely discussed topic, than you do to piracy, even if the more controversial content is of less interest to the "core" majority of niche users who support the market.
Why am I not surprised? You know the proper way to leave this thread Jules is to just say, "Yea, I'm Jules Jordan, and I fully understand and realize Brazzers uses pirated content to drive their traffic, and I have no problem doing business with Brazzers because, in the end, all I care about is my bottom line." End it that way and maybe you'd get back a little respect you've lost since all this came to light.
i will probably subscribe to one or two sites this year for one month each. first site is $30/month, or one shoot for 11.45 "kinks," so then i need to know how much kinks cost. one dollar per kink. they could have just said $11.45 per shoot, which no way in hell would i pay for just one half hour shoot. so i am tempted to watch a pirated download of a complete scene to decide if the site is worth a subscription. the other site i might pay for has more options, like $3 for 2 days, $30/month, and $90/month, but the site maintenance team is very slow to get anything done.

I have to chime in here. I have known Jules for a long time. He is really one of the good guys. He has earned the respect of all major studios as well as the distributors. I have never known him to be anything less than responsible and reputable. I know when I am under attack here, it is usually one or two guys doing the attacking. He puts out one of the best products in the business. I am sure most of you, I certainly don't, know what his business arrangements or deals are. How could you? To call him out on speculation is kind of wrong.

I have sent Vivid Video an email list of their Movies that have been put on tube sites. In May of 2009, I sent emails to Marci and Jackie. On January 10th of this year, I sent Howard Levine the same email. I have not gotten a response any time that I sent the email to people representing Vivid Video. I have found more of their movies since I wrote the email but I'm not going to send them more information unless I know my emails are being read. Adella of Digital Playground, Tricia Devereaux of Evil Angel Video, Janeen Gensen of New Sensations, Robert Interlandi of Arrow films, Brandon Iron, Heth Mares of Wicked Pictures and Jeff Mullen of All Media Play are examples of people who have responded to my emails. Brandon Iron emailed me back hours after I sent him an email yesterday. it may come as a surprise to you Jules, but I enjoy this. yup I have lots of time. My sites do well...you obviously didnt notice between writing checks to brazzers that I havent released anything on dvd in years. My ROI is way way better on the net. But thanks for your concern. As to legal recourse, are you really that fucking stupid? I mean Jules you can sue someone for doing something wrong but you cant sue someone for doing something foolish like supporting tube sites.
