There are some Girlsway scenes that knock my socks off and then there are those that are clearly overdone. By overdone, I mean I can tell that both women are faking it and all the potential heat leaves the room. I am a Girlsway fan but a scene between Chanel Preston/Sydney Cole was very disappointing - if women were as easily orgasmic as men, there wouldn't be plethora of articles and diagrams so men everywhere can earn an authentic orgasm instead of her having to fake it to get any kind of sleep. Another equally disappointing scene was Abella Danger paired with Emma Hix, a superstar is only as good as the talent they are paired with and in that case, not nearly enough steamy, sizzling chemistry. That's the problem with G/G gonzo fast paced approaches because inevitably, you end up faking bliss instead of building up to a satisfying finish. I haven't seen all of GW scenes so I don't think this is too widespread an issue but it would be nice to see performers with real chemistry being put together instead of a rip off of a scene that makes you turn the DVD off. ^ Yeah, it's just a product of how much content each studio puts out per month. If Sweetheart do 2-4 anal or squirting scenes a month, that's almost half of their content per month. If you aren't into older/younger or anal, there was only one scene in December that potentially could interest you. But, if GW does the same, it's around 10-20% of their overall content per month and there will definitely be something else that interests the typical fan coming out in the next few days if you don't like today's offering. My bigger issue with Dana's work is that while the stories are typically fun and in some cases a lot better than GW, something almost always gets lost in translation and the sex feels like it never gets out of first gear.

^something has definitely changed compared to Mason's previous body of work from the club59/elegantangel era. What was so good about those scenes was that literally just the performers and the camera were enough to create extraordinary passion and chemistry. There was a good mix of softer more sensual scenes and harder ones. They never needed all these toys or extreme acts. I find these latest scenes from LesbianX to be bit forced and not as authentic since the scene feels dictated by a theme and the focus of the scene becomes about "gaping" or "strapon dp" rather than chemistry between performers and them focusing on each other (not that this is absent, just less than it used to be)
YES, Julia Ann definitely needs to work with GW again. She recently did a scene with Elsa Jean and I can't stop thinking how perfect those two would be for a Mommy's Girl scene. Actually, Julia Ann paired with any young blonde would be enough for me; she fits into that motherly role so naturally it doesn't really matter who she is paired with, she knows how to make the scene great regardless.
^^^ I don't think it's a shock that even with the nature of porn awards, LX got completely shut out last night. For every scene so far that's felt authentic, there have been four others that feel like they're solely gimmicks and g/g for people that don't like g/g. Even the authentic feeling scenes for the most part have an older/younger or big boob gimmick. Tori's scenes with Aidra and Adriana are the only two scenes on the entire site that are just two girls without any sort of gimmick having sex with each other, and even then one of them is on a couch in an empty warehouse and the other on a mattress on a floor of a nice house instead of somewhere where people would actually have sex. GW definitely isn't perfect (and really, no studio is), but there is absolutely no question that their aim is to make porn for the g/g audience and if the b/g audience likes it too, that's just a bonus. That's the same way Club 59 was and it's a shame LX is the opposite. In other news, Vampires won for best thriller last night and Sara Luv won best actress for The Faces of Alice. I'm not surprised that Vampires won as GW has done very well at the award shows the past few years, but I was honestly shocked Sara won. I haven't seen any of the other nominations from other studios, but I thought Alexis' role in Fantasy Factory was the strongest lead performance on GW last year.
In other news Jillian Janson is rubbing down Jill Kassidy for All Girl Massage in The Tired Client. Hopefully this means she will make her long-awaited return to Girlsway soon as well.

Mason & company realize the vanilla lesbian porn market is pretty much saturated. They figured if they were going to get in, they had to be different. I'm not a fan of the direction taken by LesbianX, but do understand the reasoning. As for porn awards, the explanation as to who or what won won't be easily found with your eyes. But, there is no harm trying to come up with a rational reason. I was pleased to see Jill Kassidy winning the AVN newbie award. I think she is deserving, but don't pretend to know that's why she won.

I was referring more to the fact that outside of the Tori showcase, there wasn't anything that really generated buzz for the brand after the launch. Meanwhile, there were other brands in the Gamma/Mile High family that did, thus why those brands/films/scenes got the awards push.
My only comment on the comparison debate above between Girlsway/Sweetheart and LX is that Mason seems to be the only mainstream g/g director producing any anal scenes on a regular basis. I hear so many contributors to ADT saying how LX should be more like Girlsway or other 'softer' sites but spare a thought for those like me who prefer anal (and I discount Kink which is way more extreme than what I'm talking about); we get practically nothing.
Is it really wanting Mason to shoot softer stuff or is it more a wish that she would shoot scenario driven lesbian scenes that include anal in them? I appreciate that Mason shoots g/g anal porn but while I enjoy some of them. Most don't do much for me because it's still pure gonzo porn and it suffers from the same issues I have with gonzo porn. I would like it if Girlsway would give Chanel more serious erotic scenes to work with: so far I've seen her with Charlotte Stokely & Sydney Cole - both scenes were more fun than erotic and far more faked than real. How can I tell? Because if you can talk through the throes of a powerful, toe curling orgasm; odds are you aren't actually having one. ^ To be clear, I could care less who someone votes for. However, if you're actively calling people who disagree with you losers and being strong in your support of a party that fought so hard to keep gays from having basic rights, you do not deserve to rep a lesbian website. Period.
I'll leave the political discussion to others. Yes, she is a staple of a site that depends on older women for many of their scenes. So, certainly see her as a worthy choice. As for the future GOTM, they are now 3+ years into the selection process. Most of the favorites have been selected. One possibility going forward: Scarlett Sage.

^^ It's a little rough around the edges (setup is really rushed and there's too much tribbing), but Nia showed a lot of potential to me that makes me hopeful that GW found another WOC performer that the fans will like alongside Chanell Heart. I saw Scarlett Sage in a scene with Jelena Jensen once, I tried to enjoy it but it was so incredibly dull. There are some scenes for Girlsway that draw me in like a moth to a flame, others just leave me wondering why they put two stars together who have no spark between them. I usually find Charlotte to be a reliable performer but Chanel trying to play the straightlaced mom was a joke, they could both form coherent sentences with serious oral going on? Although we may have a different opinion of a particular performer here, our viewing of lesbian porn scenes may be quite similar. Often if I don't feel an attraction to either/any of the performers, don't even bother to watch the trailer. As for your last point, there is often no way of knowing what the spark is going to between many of the pairings. It's not feasible to only pair up women who have worked together before. Porn depends on new faces, always has and always will.
And Moka Mora who I've been waiting on awhile has made her Girlsway debut with Mindi Mink in The Wet Dream. She's one of the recent debuts I hope returns soon.
