Just haven't been in the right mood or staying up late, which seems the best time to watch these kind of films. Can't imagine popping it in for a viewing at 11am. Did stay up a bit late recently and caught (hur hur) CAUGHT (2014) on late night cable starring Asa Akira and Capri Cavanni. I'm always interested to see what they decide to show on regular late night cable when it comes to porn. This Jonathan Morgan directed 'film' is a pretty slight and purposefully campy story about a detective agency headed by Capri with Asa as her assistant who are hired to seduce spouses to expose their infidelity. Essentially a bunch of mediocre vignettes follow after the clumsily established setup. It could have worked as a amusing comedy back in the early 80s, classics have been built on less, but it just lacks any spark or wit. The camp is too broad and as usual for these days the camp feels like an excuse for not trying harder. However, Capri Cavanni, despite the too-phony breasts for my taste, is quite smoking sexy, she is one of those performers who has a great naughty look about her and projects natural heat. Wasn't familiar with her before this but will be seeking out more of her from now on. Of course Asa is always good in her sex scenes. Unfortunately a potentially good threesome scene is ruined as everyone is dressed as clowns for some reason I couldn't be bothered to pay attention to. However, there is a great g/g scene between Asa and Callie Calypso near that end that is quite hot. In Canada they oddly allow full penetration and blowjobs to be shown but always cut the cumshots. Not sure that that's about. Who is watching late night cable porn and watches penetrative sex for 10 minutes but if it ends with a cumshot is like 'they've gone too far! Aphrodisiac!: The Sexual Secret of Marijuana is an early whitecoater that masquerades as a documentary trying to show how pot, not alcohol, makes sex amazing. As with most whitecoaters it is an excuse to put hardcore material on the screen without getting an obscenity prosecution. There is very little actual hardcore material and the film isn't that great. An easy pass. Justine & Juliette is a funny and well worth seeing Swedish version of two of The Marquis de Sade's novels. This film is more lighthearted than The Marquis de Sade ever was the sex, story, and production values make this well worth seeing.

JUSTINE & JULIETTE sounds stronger in story than most Europorn, which is a good thing. I quite liked Ahberg's BEL AMI and I'm a bit in love with the lovely Marie Forsa. I didn't keep up on Impulse's releases, their catalogue is probably worth a revisit. Speaking of the previously mentioned SCORE when is the amazing softcore lesbian melodrama THERESE AND ISABELLE getting a Blu release. Hand Jura's B&W cinematography in that film is some of the best in any Metzger film.
Palm Springs Girls is a complete mess of a movie that has got to be one of the worst adult movies that I have ever seen, which is saying a lot. I'm not sure if I should even post it in a feature thread but at one point it was obviously supposed to be a feature movie. Don't watch this, ever. Even on a bet. Don't even give it to your enemies. Plan 69 From Outer Space is supposed to be a spoof of the Ed Wood disaster however this movie actually manages to make itself worse than Wood's disaster. The sex is average and the plot is bad. Really bad. To top it all off, it really isn't funny either.

Naked Eyes is an awful threadbare of a plot quickie from the 80s that continues about five minutes of story into another volume and apparently had two volumes prior. The sex scenes are around average. An easy miss.

Bella and Robins Nest Bella is an amazing film that, despite not having the name recognition of films like Behind the Green Door, Debbie Does Dallas, or The Devil in Miss Jones, all fans of classic adult cinema should check out. The film has a great story, excellent acting, and some hot as hell sex scenes. Not to mention it was beautifully shot by Carter Stevens. Robins Nest on the other hand looks nice and features a great cast but the story meanders and bogs down the film. Robins Nest isn't horrible and is worth a watch but it is no where near the caliber of Bella.

SuperCock is a repackage of 1972's High Fashion Models that wasn't good then and still isn't good. The intent behind the film seems to have been to create as much footage to be broken up into loops as possible instead of on trying to actually make a feature film. The Image may not have a lot of hardcore footage but is an absolutely amazing adult film which shows why Radley Metzger (Henry Paris) was one of the greats. This film has more eroticism in it than most of what is being churned out today and is a must see! Robinson Crusoe on Sin Island is your average Private feature movie. The movie looks glossy, has great production values, but the story is neglected and the sex scenes look like all the other Private sex scenes.
Ten Inch Mutant Ninja Turtles (2016): Amusing enough, I suppose, even though it consisted mostly of a single scene with Casey and April (played by April O'Neil, natch). THE SINFUL DWARF (1973) Blu Ray - Watched the Severin XXX cut of this and the bonus 16mm Danish feature THE BLUE BALLOON. About a demented or simple dwarf who along with his former club singer mother kidnaps girls, turns them into heroin addicts and 'sex trafficks' them. A young English couple moves into their building as lodgers and the attractive blonde wife soon grows suspicious of the goings on in the attic but the mother sets her sights on her. There is a subplot about drug smugglers using stuffed bears to hide the heroin that the mother and her son traffic in that eventually loops back into the film. Certainly sleazy in a typical 70s roughie exploitation style, with forced sex turning suddenly 'groovy' there is little actual explicit sex in the XXX cut of the film (the blu includes the softcore ABDUCTED BRIDE cut). More 'valuable' than the brief XXX shots are the extended shots of the dwarf abusing the protagonist with his cane. The opening sequence where the dwarf lures what is supposed to be a young or simple girl who is clearly a full grown woman into the attic with a toy dog (the extras identify her as Jette Koplev of various Color Climax loops) may be the sleaze 'highlight' in that regard. Jaded exploitation and roughie fans won't find anything here too shocking but it is the performance or more accurately presence of Torben Bille in the titular role that lifts the film above the routine with his never explained accent and incredibly OTT, bug-eyed, drooling performance. THE BLUE BALLOON is a more explicit XXX melodrama from the same producers (and starring one of the girls locked in the attic from SD) and while grainy and unrestored it looks far better than any previously available version. It is an incredibly downbeat story about a woman who is drugged and pimped out by a predatory lesbian. She then decides she is now 'ruined' and can't return to the loving boyfriend who wants to marry her. As you can tell from that outline the storyline definitely feels like a throwback to a 60s roughie but outside of the first love scene between her and her lover the sex in this film is intensely (and appropriately) cold and joyless. It may just be a cheap melodrama with the heavy handed morality and sentimentality a cover for the exploitation but inadvertently or not the film evokes a real sense of despair that must have shocked its intended audience of porn hounds. On Private features.. I've never bought a Private feature for the feature side of things, is always pretty thin, I buy them for the sex, I know I am a huge fan of the 90/early00s, but I love the Private sex.. 1. Stunning - I mean truly STUNNINGLY gorgeous women! 2. Sex - Fake or real, looks like are genuinely enjoying themselves. 3. Location - If its on a beach it STAYS on a beach. 4. Scene - If she is in fetish gear she STAYS in fetish gear. 5. Video - I love their style and angles, eg. switching from the sex to her face in pleasure. 6. Editing - I love their sometimes artys dream like editing, eg. slow motion and black-and-white etc.

Definitely, originally planned to make a smart aleck comment that the Recently Viewed Feature thread is not really the place for Private features, as their feature is the sex :)
Getting back to the Private Features I did buy four of their titles in the 90's on VHS Anal Manor (1993) with Danyel Cheeks directed by Steve Perry (a.k.a. Ben Dover), Virgin Treasures 1 & 2 (1994) with Kitty Yung (R.I.P.) directed by Frank Thring. These received Hustlers Highest Rating. I also purchased Xtreme Desires (1998) directed by Tanya Hyde I bought this title because my of love for Silvia Saint and Laura Angel. I do remember really enjoying these films and I was very happy that I bought them.

Blonde Goddess is a series of vignettes built around comic books and a Walter Mitty storyline. The fantasy sequences include a Doc Savage like character tangling with a lost civilization of Aztecs, WWII fighter pilots grounded with some lovely ladies, a B&W noir sequence and a very charmingly animated sf sequence. The male star David Messa is in very good shape for the period and the film, perhaps inadvertently, shows off his body quite a bit for a straight feature. Lacking a bit of zip that would put it over the top but with way more effort and imagination pored into it than one would expect this stands up pretty well. Ron Jeremy shows up and is in good shape doing a purposefully corny German accent, the women are all quite attractive, particularly Loni Sanders, Misty Reagan and Heather Young. There's even a very surreal sex scene in zero gravity.
Red Account: My Bloody Angel (1988): A Japanese flick that dances on the line between cheesy and disturbing, starting out as hardcore (albeit pixelated, which is almost always an immersion ruiner) pornography before suddenly turning into a Guinea Pig clone with heaps of dissection gore, followed by more weird blurred sex acts (including an inspired bit with a fake-looking severed forearm). There's English and German subtitles for it, but the plot is so loose and nonsensical (a woman and her husband's friend believe that the husband's organs have been tainted by the Devil because... he's been obsessing over his music a lot lately) that they aren't exactly a requirement.

I fell behind on this thread, so some of these reviews are older. Farmer's Daughters is a roughie from Zebedy Colt. The film has some good aspects but the lack of a plot and a weird ending drag the film down. At least for me, a roughie needs to do more than just be a roughie, and that is where Farmer's Daughters falls short in my book. If you like roughies just for the hell of it, you'll probably get a kick out of this one. Beach Blanket Bango is a film that tries to do too much in its short run time -- yes a comment I know most adult films don't get. The film is a spoof of the old beach party movies and there are too many subplots running in the film causing each one to be thinned way to much. After reading the Rialto Report on the film Centurians of Rome my interest was piqued. Unfortunately, Centurians of Rome isn't as fun as it sounds in the article. However I have to give it to John Christopher, he did do a lot very well here. A word of warning though, this is a gay film, so if the sight of two cocks and no pussy will disturb you for life you will want to stay away from this one. I also got the opportunity to screen I Always Said Yes: The Many Lives of Wakefield Poole. The review will go up after I receive the final information from Gorilla Factory Productions. However, the documentary interested me in Wakefield Poole and his work. I'd only seen his softcore film Bible! prior. Boys in the Sand was talked about heavily and called the landmark film in the gay adult film industry. In a lot of ways it is very similar to Bible!. Boys in the Sand isn't the best film that Wakefield Poole made, but it is a visually beautiful film. Like with Centurians of Rome, this is a gay film, so if the sight of two cocks and no pussy will disturb you for life you will want to stay away from this one. And last is Private's Indiana Mack 2: Sex in the Desert, which somehow actually manages to be worse than the first Indiana Mack movie. Thanks for the Farmer's Daughter review, Flash. You and fu_q are doing a great job. Farmer's Daughter is one of those roughies with no redeeming social value I find fascinating. At least during the scene where the girls dominate the farm boy with the extreme verbal abuse, pissing, etc. One of those, 'what the hell am I watching?' moments. I think the ending is trying to suggest that the rest of the film was just a revenge fantasy by the boy who has passed out while he was being abused by the girls (believe it ends with him getting a face full of water to wake him up) but it isn't edited well enough to make this clear and it would probably be a lame ending regardless. Worth the watch for that early scene which feels really primal and the few xxx roles by Spalding Gray. Will pick up this legit release sometime in the future. I saw Centurions of Rome a while ago and it was disappointing. Great article from the Rialto Report though. Still waiting for the Wakefield Poole doc to become available as a paid stream. I'll be away on vacation when it becomes available so it will be a bit before I get to watch it. His film BIJOU is the must see I think, although I really liked Boys in the Sand as well.
You must be able to read my mind BlackSix, because today's starts out with Wakefield Poole's best film, Bijou. Bijou is an amazingly crafted film that tells a story, which can be different for every viewer, yet only contains one line within the entire film. The film relies on visual narrative techniques to tell the rest of its tale. Assuming that the sight of two cocks together doesn't throw you into homophobic fits, this is a must see film. Bad, Bad, Gang! is a roughie that something went horribly wrong with. There appears to be some sort of attempt to tell a biblical type of tale from the references that are shown and used in the beginning of the film. However, the plot quickly disappears and the film descends into mayhem. This is one of those films where I wish I knew what the director was trying for, it might help to explain the mess that resulted.
I'm enjoying every minute of it. The Golden Age classics are far superior to modern-day features in most instances, and the AdultDVDEmpire Unlimited site seems to have an endless supply, particularly now that they're adding VCX titles, too. I've been on this kick for over a year now, and I intend to keep going on it for the foreseeable future.
Fu-q, you seemed to really love TAXI GIRLS. I've only seen a chopped-up video version with a really incoherent finish--- footage repeated twice, etc. Does that double rape finale make much sense in that version you reviewed? Spoilers: The double-rape scene was basically the rival cab company (Ranger's) getting revenge on Nancy and one of her girls, Serena, for taking their business and leading to layoffs by Ranger. They caught Suiter before she could make an appearance at a comedy club at which her estranged husband, Holmes, was waiting for her. Holmes ultimately put it all together, and he and the other girls from Nancy's company came and beat up the rapists. Not sure what's been cut out of other versions, but the one on Adult Empire is about 82 minutes in length.
Today are two from Fred J. Lincoln. Oui, Girls is a fun and amusing film with some excellent sex scenes. The plot unfortunately is quickly tossed away and mostly forgotten for most of the feature only popping up now and then as if to say, "Oh, ya it is a feature film." Serena: An Adult Fairy Tale also tosses away the plot but it lacks the charm that Oui, Girls has and instead just comes across as a lazy one day wonder, in all aspects. Even a good cast can't save this one.
Thanks, fu_q! I need to get a hold of TAXI GIRLS. It may be the only flick that really features Nancy Suiter. Almost all of her titles listed on IAFD are comps, which means her few scenes are pretty popular. She also looks incredible in a couple of scenes in 800 FANTASY LANE. Meanwhile, I am checking out a French actress named Marilyn Jess, who also belongs in that "too beautiful for porn" category. Helps that the French shot her in an array of well-photographed scenes on film over a period of 8 -10 years. I'll report back after I see more of Marilyn but the film that got me started in my is PENSIONNAT DE JUENES FILLES that is under some crazy German title on IAFD. ---TBOne---
