^ I would love to see a full cut of Gums.
I watched Anyone But My Husband (1975)
anyone but my husband.jpg
What a weird film. From the outset, the music never matched the tone, and there was some seriously weird and funny dialogue. A mess, but a mess that I watched to the very end. :)

Last one I saw would be "A Clockwork Orgy" for the simple reason that "A Clockwork Orange" by Stanley Kubrick happens to be one of my favourite movies and I just had to see it based on the title alone.
The concept was pretty stupid and there's something about hearing Anthony Burgess' Nadsat coming out of the mouth of people who don't know what the words mean is a little off putting. That and with very little exception, the sex was just kinda meh.
It's good for a watch if you happen to like the source material, but not worth seeing if you want something hot or something to stroke to.

GGG, I can likely hook you up with GUMS.
As for ABMH, it's really grown on me. It is a mess but, as you say, an intensely watchable mess.

Yes, we will be releasing TOUCH ME at some point. Not sure about GUMS right now.
As for TTLG, nothing has happened to the plans to re-release in fully restored. It's still gonna happen. Money is just tight so the plan is to get some smaller scale projects out on the market first to try and generate more press for the label and raise extra funds to do TTLG right.

John Seeman's TEN LITTLE MAIDENS (1985)
It's a shame that X rated murder mysteries never caught on because sex and death have always enjoyed such a friendly relationship in 'mainstream' cinema that it would have been nice to see a few such successful ventures with more explicit encounters. Chuck Vincent tried and succeeded in his criminally unavailable gem, FAREWELL SCARLET, and there are a handful of half baked one-day-wonders that flited with giallo material (COME DEADLY being the best example) but so few other X films, even the bloody ones, bothered including a 'whodunit' angle, making TEN LITTLE MAIDENS perhaps a bit unjustly unique, considering how ordinary and average it is in every other way.
Fitted with an all star cast, the film opens with Kitten Natividad in the guest role of "Mail Woman," who, through strange projectile powers, sends a bunch of letters flying across a room and onto the screwing bodies of Harry Reems and Ginger Lynn. After they finish, Reems discovers that one of the letters is an invitation to Bacchanale Island for a weekend orgy. He and Lynn jump at the chance to go and soon find themselves on the secluded island with only husband and wife/butler and maid duo, Jamie Gillis and Nina Hartley as well as a group of other guests. No one, including Hartley and Gillis seem to have any idea where the mysterious host, U.N. Ceen is.
A tape recorded message played after dinner informs them that none of them will survive the weekend. One of the guests promptly dies - poisoned by eating an arsenic laced pussy (!). No one really gets too freaked out, except Hartley, and the guests continue wildly fucking each other and dying as a result.
The biggest problem with TEN LITTLE MAIDENS isn't its uneven narrative, plot holes, or lack of credible characters, but the fact that no one really seems to notice (or care) about the fact that they're supposedly doomed. The deaths are mostly played for laughs but still, the movie feels aimless. Its heavy handed "we're all immoral hypocrites" motive for the killer doesn't really gel with the rest of the stupid goings on and feels contrived. And when coupled with how cheap the film feels, trying to give it any substance seems laughable.
Camerawork is pretty terrible as is the jump-cut happy editing. It's strange that this film was advertised as a big budget extravaganza as it's purely middle of the road. John Seeman's directing is extraordinarily flat though he still offers more flair here than he did in his massively overrated 1983 yawner, VIRGINIA. His finest directorial output still remains his delightful live action R. Crumb comic inspired debut, UP IN FLAMES (1978) , and his big(ger) budget screwball comedy, BLONDES HAVE MORE FUN (1979). This is just second rate.

Maid For Love, a couples-friendly feature from Adam and Eve's "Romantic Encounters" line, and directed by Lee Roy Meyers.
I watched the trailer a while ago and was intrigued, so when I saw it on AEBN's newest additions page, I decided to give it a watch. It must have been filmed a while ago as at least two of its stars currently aren't performing, but it was shot very well. The high definition camera makes it totally watchable, better than a lot of releases these days.
It's an all right story, enhanced by Tommy Pistol's acting mainly. Victoria Lawson stars, and starts out a bit uneasy, but finds enough comfort to act somewhat more naturally as the film progresses. It also features Lily LaBeau, but not much. Ritchie Calhoun gives a fine effort as well.
So I'm glad I watched it. It's a couples film and I watched it alone in a darkened room, but I enjoyed it. It's a job well done, no masterpiece, but I think we'll see it make a few "best couples/romance release" lists at the end of the year.

I'm catching up still on things posted when I was on a trip. Anyway, I don't know that I would call Anyone But My Husband a mess, but it hardly matters; this is the movie that made me fall seriously in love with C.J. Laing. I thought it was very funny and very sexy -- it ranks high on my all-time favorites list, but admittedly that is mostly because of Laing, who is probably responsible for me losing any real judgment about the film. I do remember laughing a lot and being seriously hot and bothered most of the time, which is good enough for me.

Vista Valley PTA (1981) - I rented this film back in 1982 and I meant to add it my collection. What a truly outstanding performance turned in by Jesie St. James no one could have done a better job than Jesie.Barbara Eden had the starring role in the movie Harper Valley PTA (1978) as well as the TV Series (1981 - 1982).Jesie St. James was an excellent choice for the Barbara Eden role and turned a truly amazing performance.

Jessie is great but I found Vista Valley PTA to be particularly mean-spirited, an unusual thing for later Spinelli.

Just about every Spielli film has a mean streak. VISTA VALLEY is definitely one of his more cruel-minded and cynical films. I also think it's one of his strangest of the period. THE DANCERS is his best work from the 80's though.

Code of Honor from Digital Playground.
More of an ensemble piece than one featuring a leading lady and a compelling story line, a porn 'parody' of The Expendables, if you will. Even then, Kayden and Stoya's obvious talent comes through. Stoya's transfers to an anal scene. Kayden's paired up with the best actor in the film, Tommy Gunn, but despite an emotional exchange, the sex the follows is not all that hot. Manuel's a big drawback, not serious enough to be a villain, not emasculated enough in the resolution. Then the vanquished gets to fuck his vanquishers? The climax is reserved for a three-woman black-ops mission that must have been fun to shoot, and I liked seeing the girls get dirty and killing bad guys. It's DP and you should know what to expect, but I thought that, aside from a few flaws, it was great.

The Submission of Emma Marx featuring Penny Pax in the title role written/ directed by the team of Jacky St. James & Eddie Powell. Well done and I couldn't help but note the similarities between this and 50 Shades more in the initial stages than later on. Penny proves to be a good dramatic actress here and I hope she gets more roles in this vein in the coming year. I'll be curious to see what she does with Grease when that's released.

Haven't posted anything in this thread in a while; here's a bit of catching up.
Firestorm
This wonderful Cecil Howard drama is told in flashbacks within flashbacks, the story seeping out in pieces. The movie maintains a tension that keeps you glued to a plot that moves along at a tantalizingly slow pace -- very entertaining. This is highly recommended -- perhaps not quite on the level of such films as 3 a.m. or The Dancers, but not missing by much. The movie is imaginatively shot by a fine film maker, with many gorgeous visuals. Most of the characters are rich and credible, fleshed out by great performances, especially from Tina Marie, Eric Edwards, and Joanna Storm, each of whom drives home the effects each person has on the lives of the others.
The sex is mostly nicely integrated into the story and is very hot. In particular, Tina Marie has several scenes that are incredibly sexually charged. And, Joanna Storm just looks perfect for her role. Fans of 70s - 80s films shouldn't miss this one.
Inside Jennifer Welles
Not so much a feature as a series of vignettes featuring Ms Welles. I really loved this movie, all because she was so beautiful and exciting all the way through. I don't know how old Ms Welles was when this was shot -- certainly she wasn't a youngster -- but she was ... perfect. Just perfect.
She is being driven through the city and, as she passes familiar places, remembers sexual adventures there from her past. In the last scene, she arrives at an elegant home where a gentleman friend has set up a gangbang for her with a group of tuxedo-clad men. This closing scene was rather weaker than most of the rest, but the majority of the scenes were very, very sexy. A few of my favorites:
The movie opens with her answering the phone. We see her from chest up, in bed in a nightgown. She is breathless as she talks. I imagine she is probably stroking herself, but when she hangs up and the camera pans down, she is being eaten. For those of us who love tasting a woman, this is marvelous: we get a long session of oral before she finally mounts the guy's cock (unfortunately, the fucking is shown only in a close up of her butt) then finishes in missionary. A very pleasing scene.
Next, she is brought home in a taxi. The driver can't break the hundred she offers. She has a smaller bill, but doesn't tell him, and makes him come up to her room for his fare. She pays him, then seduces him. Her voice-over narration talks about how much she loves hairy men. She undoes the top of her dress and, as they kiss and grope each other, seeing it slooooowly slide down her body is so sexy! Once naked, he lays her back on the rug and vigorously fucks her bent in half, legs up by her face, ankles often on his shoulder. Ummmm.
House sitting for a friend, she encounters the young, male roommates next door and invites them in for pie -- and seduction. Maybe they are supposed to be gay or just innocent, but still they don't mind when she pulls out their dicks and starts sucking them; her blowjobs here are beautiful! Eventually she satisfies the two at once before they finally get to the pie -- priorities are important!
Marlene Willoughby picks her up at a bar, trying to look and act as butch as possible. Once they are alone, suddenly Jennifer is naked and Marlene is all over her with mouth and fingers, as Jennifer writhes and gasps in a very, very hot g/g. Etc.
By the way, women who think they can act like they are turned on by, say, shouting "Oh, yeah, oh, yeah," over and over for 15 minutes could take lessons from Ms Welles in conveying arousal -- oh, lessons hell, she could give a graduate seminar in how to give a scene sizzle by making you believe she is out of her mind with excitement (without ever acting over the top). Geez, she is just so damned sexy, so perfect -- I can't say that enough -- that she makes this movie work all by herself. Wow.
Hot Cookies
In this 1977 film, a man comes to a disorganized used book store in search of fine erotica -- he's a collector. The shop owner takes him into the back, where Serena is masturbating, and explains that she is a sorceress -- she does erotic paintings which she makes come to life for the viewer. The film's sex scenes are the various paintings on display. At the end, a little twist demonstrates her real power.
The movie has painfully stilted dialogue. Also, the bad sound mix has the dialogue often lost in music or background sound -- very frustrating. I was excited to see Abigail Clayton and Serena, but both were underused -- Serena only appearing as a masturbating side piece in the connecting segments, Abigail barely visible in her fragmented scene (she plays a bored and frustrated society woman who spends an evening picking up and fucking a series of strangers in the backseat of a limo as her driver and her gentleman friend watch from the front seat; each encounter is brief and lost in nighttime darkness). Still, we get a couple of very lovely scenes. One features two ladies from an earlier era. They go on a buggy ride to a picnic in the woods. When their driver drinks too much wine and falls asleep, the ladies go off by themselves and make love in the wilderness in a very sexy scene. Another high point has a young female reporter doing a story on a boxer, in which she gives him a massage that leads to sex. She is a very lovely young lady (reminds me a little of Loni Sanders), so I was disappointed to find that this was her only film (per iafd). Anyway, nothing great, but some pleasing moments.
Finally, two French films with the usual caveat that I don't speak French, so can only guess at parts of the plot:
Bourgeoises mais Perverses
1986 French film. I never really knew what exactly was going on. According to EGAFD, Tina Loren and a guy (not sure who) are rivals of some kind. At the end, she has taken pictures of him semi-raping Marilyn Jess and blackmails him for a briefcase full of money. In between, there is a lot of sexual cross pollination between the two people's families. Not completely sure what it was all about. If anyone has seen it and can elaborate, please do.
Julie la douce
For a movie from 1982, this has a more modern look. From what I could tell, not a story to speak of, just a scenario on which to hang the sex scenes. A girl is riding her bike on a country lane when she is hit by a rich man's limo. She is shaken but not badly hurt. The rich man takes her to his home where a series of sex scenes takes place involving the bike girl, the rich man and his wife, their chauffeur and their maid. This was only about 53 minutes, leaving me to wonder if it was cut (their were a few places where it seemed to be set up for a scene that didn't happen). Ends abruptly with the chauffeur raping the bike girl in a field, then suddenly she is getting on her bike to leave the rich couple's home, given a warm send off as she looks quite unruffled. Not much to this; at least some of the sex was quite good.

Some addition comments to alphadachs review of Inside Jennifer Welles -
Welles teamed up with an un-credited Sarno to co-direct in 1977 what is arguably her best picture.
Credits indicate that in addition to directing she wrote and produced this film.
Notably she covered most of the present day straight porn genres except DP, but included Anal, Comedy and IR. It was a combination Feature and Comp and also very Gonzo like in it's presentation. Not much new in porn since 1977! Jennifer did it all. Carried the entire video and she was truly a talented actress.
As to her age - critics claim Jennifer may have been in her mid to late 40's in this movie, but she sure doesn't look it. No enhancements (or tats).
Great porn video!

Desiree West Triple Feature Two
Coming Attractions (1976) - This was my main reason for wanting to purchase this DVD this was my Porn Idol John Leslie's (R.I.P.) very first film appearance and what great chemistry he and Sharon Thorpe had together.
It centers around John and Sharon driving from California to Las Vegas which numerous sexually encounters take place, mostly fantasies.A young John Stagliano was in this film billed as John Stag.A true hidden gem a film I wanted to see for years.
All Night Long (1976) - This film starts off slow as molasses it's takes place at an Adult Film Award Ceremony. You're watching this and you're like WTF !!!!! Things do heat up and it becomes a fun film to watch.I guess it's some kind of stud of the year award takes place between John Holmes and Rick Lutz their given addresses of female clients their suppose to have encounters and the one that returns to the award ceremony is the winner.
Expections (1976) - Mediocre film a at best.
Cris Cassidy and Delania Raffino exchange identities.
A litte bit too much of Jack Wright for me and he's wearing an eye patch here too he must have been a close personal friend of Spinelli !!!!
Desiree West a few starring role to her resume and she would be up for discussion in that best actress thread, she could hold her own with anyone she just was never given the opportunity.

In a recent post about Inside Jennifer Welles, I enthused on how perfect Ms Welles was. I seem now to be on a roll, having just witnessed three more examples of near perfection in women: Jesie St James and Joanna Storm in Her Wicked Ways and Heather Hunter in Torch.
Her Wicked Ways
Jesie St James had been married three years to an uber wealthy industrialist who has just died. She is set to inherit his fortune, but his daughter, Joanna Storm, contests the will. She tries to dig up dirt on Jesie, who is busily fucking and sucking all the corporate bigwigs to secure their votes and make her the new CEO. As they tee off against each other, they leave themselves vulnerable to attack. Not a great story, but Jesie and Joanna are both sizzling, looking as sexy as they ever have. For spectacular hotness of these two ladies alone this gets a thumbs up from me.
Torch
This is a 1990 Paul Thomas film for Vivid, which pretty much tells you what to expect. My reason for watching it was Heather Hunter, who well defines the word "sultry." I hadn't seen her in a great many years and, recalling that I used to find her hot, sought a reminder. And she is very hot indeed, providing enough sizzle to justify the time spent on this mediocre film. Randy Spears is a porn film writer working on a script for Heather. What we get is frequent confusion of what is real and what is just a part of the movie, with various infidelities that might or might not have happened. Between Hunter and Rebecca Steele, there is plenty to admire on screen, even if the movie isn't anything special.

A huge recommendation for Erika Lust's CABARET DESIRE from 2011. She enlists English speaking poets at a poetry brothel to tell erotic stories that accompany well-shot but hyper edited porn scenes in and around Barcelona.

Adultery
In this Henri Pachard film, Mike Horner, married to Nina Hartley, is riven by jealousy -- she has to take frequent business trips and he imagines she is always cheating when away. In fact, he imagines a lot of things, and many of the scenes in this film are his tormented fantasies. He conjures up a vision of his wife being unfaithful in a restaurant (where Horner himself is the waiter) in an over-the-top scene of outrageous silliness; he imagines two scenes of sex involving his shrink, the ever beautiful Siobhan Hunter; he is ever distracted by his fevered jealousy. Though both he and Nina do stray, one has hope at the end that they are working past their mutual insecurities. Not a terribly good film by any means, certainly not comparable to Pachard's better work, though occasionally there are tiny glimmers of what he is capable of; but, they never go anywhere. Some mediocre sex, two nice scenes with Siobhan, and a blistering g/g with Nina Hartley and Alexis Greco (whom I don't recall seeing before).
Bad
The title sums this up well. The movie can't make up its mind whether it is ridiculous camp or something more serious. The story is weak, the characters weaker. It centers on a young woman (Iesha) sent by her parents to a facility to cure her bad attitude, though what exactly her issues are never get explained. Farming out the daughter allows the folks to indulge in their own play in an annoying scene that is dribbled out piecemeal throughout the movie.
In the version I saw, one sex scene is deleted -- not a major loss, except the scene clearly provides a major plot point whose absence makes much of the subsequent scenes confusing (until we get some explanation at the end).
Ritual
This vampire movie from Marc Dorcell goes heavily for style points over coherency. My very positive first impression was disappointed as, after an impressive opening, the movie spiralled quickly down the drain. The confusing semblance of a plot was muddled by jumping about in time, and key explanatory material often got lost in incomprehensible dialogue. Adding to the incomprehensibility, most of the sex scenes were completely extraneous to the story -- indeed, some of them involved unknown characters who seemed dropped in from some other film. I found the music-video style of editing often irritating; the second orgy scene in particular was unwatchable -- really awful.
The movie featured Melissa Lauren. Unfortunately for me, this was post-boob-job Melissa, but that is a minor drawback as she was generally excellent throughout her five hundred years in the film. Other performers were almost uniformly appealing. The sex scenes, while as I said mostly unrelated to the story and also somewhat too long, were very hot (excepting again that dreadful second orgy). I was enthusiastic about the opening scene, a very sexy orgy that swirled around Ms Lauren, who in the middle was quite willingly being seduced by the head of the vampires, setting up the rest of the movie. Alas, shortly thereafter the movie lost its way. Still, worth a viewing for some beautiful performers and intermittent eroticism.
Fireworks
Assorted scenes in a male brothel, where women buy sex. Oddly, the movie seems to have the scenes out of order, making a confusing mess out of it. Very attractive women having sex help salvage something from this.
Honeymoon Suite
A 1974 film with Georgina Spelvin, Tina Russell, Marc Stevens and other familiar faces from the era. In her excellent memoir, Ms Spelvin always refers to her movies as fuckfilms. While many of her films clearly are far more than that (3 am, Devil in Ms Jones, The Dancers, Mystique, Take Off, and others), this one truly is nothing more than a fuckfilm. It opens with three couples playing poker, where they improbably decide that they should get married -- all of them, as a group marriage. And so they do. The movie then consists of the group honeymoon with them pairing up in various combinations. The sex is often nice, but that's all there is to it.
Secret Mistress
Robert Bullock keeps meeting sexy women, but shies away from them out of loyalty to his mysterious Susan. But, he then hallucinates about the women having sex with others -- his brother, his neighbor. We find out after a while that the mistress is only a mannikin with whom he has fantasies, and Bullock finally does get involved with real women. Not a very good movie, though with some fine ladies of the time period: the best here is Siobhan Hunter, whom I always greatly enjoy; others include Stacey Donovan, Colleen Brennan, Kristara Barrington, and Taija Rae (though she isn't looking her best here). Some tolerably nice sex, if nothing special.

I was really disappointed in that Lauren Hall scene. What a TERRIBLE way to fuck up one of the hottest woman of the era! And the rest of the movie sucks too. I remember it got some flak for a suggested rape scene, but it should have gotten flak for being lousy in general.
Surely you don't mean the scene with Vicca and Katja Kean? Cuz I think it's very hot.

Agree about Ms Hall; she didn't appear nearly often enough in films, so to be so poorly used here was very disappointing.
Hmmm. According to iafd (not always trustworthy), the women in the scene are Keana Moire, Natalli DiAngelo, Suzie Carina and Tarra White. Melissa Lauren is standing in the dark outside a glass building inside of which is the orgy. You of course are allowed to disagree with me on the scene!

The Ritual Painless is talking about is an old VCA release. Different movie altogether.

Don't Fuck My Sister, a Digital Playground light feature.
I liked it a lot. It's a fun little comedy with a great cast, excellent erotic performers, little by way of a plot, and no conflict. But Kayden still fucking delivers. She plays her role perfectly and she gets fucked wildly. Lily Carter also has a small part but her sex scene with Manuel is unsurprisingly the best of the flick. James Deen and Kayden deliver a hell of a scene as well.

A cute little film, with some weird and off-beat moments. I liked it.

^---Me, too. Some of these John Christopher films are well-crafted little gems; I liked his Sweet Throat and French Teen quite a bit. Swedish Sorority is fine; Pussycat Ranch just okay. My reviews are up for all these flicks. Looks like he's also appeared in a bunch of late 70s stuff, Roommates also---tb

^ I wasn't a fan of Pussycat Ranch - sounds like it was the least impressive to you also. I will check out your reviews for sure. I am interested in this chap.

Heavy Load
A 1975 Chuck Vincent film, not his best effort. Jeffrey Hurst is a one-man delivery company, working such long hours that wife Darby Lloyd Rains is sorely frustrated for lack of lovin' -- he is too tired for her when he gets home at night. But, in following his day at work, we find he is tired because he fucks everyone he meets on his rounds. A light-hearted, sometimes funny film with decent sex and a number of the familiar ladies of the era. Not great Vincent fare, but a pleasant enough diversion.
Deep Cover
This is nominally a bare-bones spy story about a mole in the CIA, but it doesn't do much with the tale. It alternates a minute or two of dialogue with 15 or 20 minutes of mostly extraneous sex. What little story there is makes little sense. Beautiful women, some good sex, though often shot from very unrevealing angles. Not much of a movie.
But, watch it anyway, just for the fabulous first scene (two scenes, really, one merging into the next). Debi Diamond has sex with Steven St Croix on a piano; after he finishes, two others guys come in and toss her on a couch to take her. Ms Diamond is spectacular here, not just looking great but scorching the screen with passionate heat, especially in the first part with Mr St Croix. In a weak movie, this scene was worth the price of admission.
Amber Aroused
Amber Lynn's purpose, apparently, is to loosen up sexually repressed people so they can enjoy life more fully. She is hired as a live-in maid by a man and his wife (Jay Sterling and Crystal Breeze). He has made a lot of money from inventing a household robot; Amber comes into their home and frees up their buried sexual sides. Her role is somewhat reminiscent of Veronica Hart's in Delicious, without the magic (plus, Delicious is a vastly better movie).
Pathetic Jay is constantly sucking on his pipe, mostly using it as a barrier to hide behind. Ron Jeremy is his creepy neighbor/Peeping Tom. But, Amber is her usual eyeful and the sex is often nice. Tolerable enough film for a day on which you have nothing to do.

Revenge of the Petites
As this movie has been well discussed on these boards, no description is really needed -- it basically plays like Revenge of the Nerds between two sororities.
Watching this movie was the most fun I've had in a long while. The story is funny and richly developed. The characters are credible, individual, and well played by all the cast. The overall look and sound of the movie are very impressive. The sex is satisfying and completely integrated into the story. I especially enjoyed how much this focused on the women's pleasure in the sex scenes. Although I tend to prefer women somewhat older than the college-girl look here, all of the female cast were very appealing (with lead Marie McCray simply adorable throughout; Vanessa Cage and Celeste Star sizzled, too). Many will likely find the sex scenes short and chopped up, though I thought they fit well within the movie; but, for those wanting longer scenes, they are all presented on an extras disc at full length. Uncharacteristically for me, I even watched some of these. They felt less like extended versions than raw footage, and the camera frequently tended to be very static. But, I especially loved the two long g/g scenes involving Celeste Star (one with Vanessa, the other with Sativa Verte), which were molten.
Before buying this, I read Astroknight's review. I agree with his two major criticisms: first, the male cast was not up to the standards of the ladies. (In particular: maybe I am being swayed by the character he plays, but am I the only one to think Talon looks creepy here?) And while his second criticism is accurate -- the editing of the sex scenes tended to weaken them; in particular, grouping many scenes together in one intercut mash diluted each scene and made for an overlong stay away from the story (although, to be fair, the sex is very much a part of the story in this film) -- it didn't bother me. For the first such conglomerate of scenes, the montage really was unavoidable; all the separate parts were occurring simultaneously, and splitting them up wouldn't have worked in the movie. The cluster of sex maintained momentum and held together well. But, the second mashup of sliced-and-diced scenes at the very end was completely anticlimactic. There was no reason to cut these together and really not much reason for these scenes to be there at all. A weak finale to a very fine movie.
Still, no matter. Revenge of the Petites is so delightful that any quibbles are easily ignored in the overall joy of the film.

^I think the group of sex scenes at the end were totally unnecessary. I figured they were there to mainly have the "American Pie" reference (Marie's mom). I also like the movie a lot, but I think it would have been better without that last part.

La Petite Etranger
French film from 1980, dubbed into English. Richard Lemieuvre's wife leaves on a trip. While she is gone, he meets a young woman tourist (Ulrike Lary) who explains she has heard Paris is the city of love and wants to experience it in depth. So, he provides her with a series of sexual escapades. Not a stellar movie, but filled with very fine women (geez, I love the ladies of the era!) and managing to pull off occasional real eroticism. This made for a nice afternoon of viewing, even if Lemieuvre's character was pretty much an ass.
Amanda By Night 2
The bad news is that this isn't Amanda By Night 1, a vastly better movie, and uses Veronica Hart (star of the first film) only in a brief, non-sex role, in which she is great. Still, not bad -- a prostitute (Krista Lane) is a witness to the killing of her roommate, another hooker. Homicide detective Robert Bullock uses her to get at the culprits, and falls for her in the process. Nina Hartley is an undercover cop who helps out. Decent plot and production values, okay if fairly ordinary sex. Worth seeing, but don't expect anything of the quality of its predecessor.
Endless Lust
Gena Lee plays the wife of a Senator who is disgraced (and imprisoned) for his sexual peccadilloes. The bulk of the movie consists of her telling a TV talk show host about the multitude of sex scandals in Washington, with the sex scenes shown in excerpted flashbacks as the story is told. Not much flesh on the bones of the story; for example, she mentions the existence of a group who regularly get together for orgies, and then we cut to the orgy. But, Ms Lee is magnificent in disingenuously playing the wronged wife, although she herself is far from an innocent. As her husband puts it early in the movie, "You are a vicious, greedy little monster, Erica, and I suppose that's what I've always admired about you." This is worth seeing for her acting, as she convincingly portrays someone giving a convincing performance.

^ I thought AbN 2 wasn't bad either. I was sort of expecting the worst and was pleasantly surprised.
Keep up the little reviews! I love reading them.

I recently saw three movies from the late 80s / early 90s. By coincidence, each had Nina Hartley in it, providing a nice reminder that, besides her world-class derriere, back then she had the most adorable, perky tits. Oh yes, and she's also a great performer!
Hothouse Rose 2
I happened to come across this fragment -- Part 2 of a movie for which I hadn't seen Part 1, though I did read a synopsis and was therefore not at a total loss. It is more the second half of the movie than a sequel. Victoria Paris is a top porn star, Jeanna Fine an obsessive fan. Buck Adams plays (quite well) a wheelchair-bound strip club owner and close friend of Victoria. This is not a great movie, but I highly recommend seeing it (and hope that Part 1 was as good) for Jeanna Fine's wonderful performance. Not only does she produce her usual intense sex scenes, but she is amazing at portraying the unstable, obsessive, manipulative fan. The sex is mostly good, especially Jeanna's two sizzling scenes (one a g/g with Victoria Paris; in the other, she is all over Buck Adams in his wheelchair), but several others are also very good.
The other two are late 80s films to skip -- not worth your time.
House of Blue Dreams
Nina Hartley is a prim, innocent young lady until she buys a house and falls under its mysteriously sexual influence. Suddenly she is always aroused and having intense dreams and hallucinations, courtesy of the ghostly inhabitants, all once members of a porn company who died in an accident. No longer prudish, she is screwing her maid and her boyfriend and losing control of herself. Pretty weak film, and her narrative segments are really annoying. Give this a pass.
One Wife to Give
The sexual shenanigans in a suburban neighborhood. No story here, just scenes of who's fucking whom. A sad waste of Ms Hartley, Hyapatia Lee, and some other lovelies of the era. Definitely skip this.

Wet Rainbow
In this domestic drama, Georgina Spelvin and Harry Reems are a married couple, both artists, who become fascinated by Rainbow (Valerie Marron), a free-spirited young woman in a photography class that Reems teaches. Rainbow has sent Reems a nude photo of herself, triggering reactions in the couple that progress from wry, amused fantasizing to serious angst. Some good acting in this, though Ms Spelvin, whose acting skills I greatly admire, slips into overacting quite often. Dating from 1973, don't expect the sex to be stunning, but it is always essential to the story. A nice excursion into adult films of the era.
Simply Blue
Ashlyn Gere is coming off a divorce and an extreme case of sexual harassment from her boss and is now in a damaged emotional state. Friend Anna Malle is trying to ease her past it. However, that is only lightly filled in -- this has way too little story vs sex, a problem exacerbated by some totally extraneous sex and scenes running rather too long. On the plus side, Ashlyn's scenes do benefit from her usual intense heat.
Undulations
A series of vignettes. Jamie Gillis and John Holmes play themselves as they appear with several women on a very adult TV talk show. They discuss sex, with the scenes illustrating the discussion. They finish with a dull mini-orgy to conclude the show. Not much, though a couple of the scenes aren't awful (especially a nice threesome with Suzanne French, Brooke West, and Gillis). Still, skip this.

The Temptation of Eve starring Remy LaCroix. Another great story written and directed by Jacky St. James. I'd say these two make a great team. Full review should hopefully be up on the site tomorrow but I enjoyed it.
