The edition I have of the book contains a brief interview with Coelho that I found interesting. He seems to be a fascinating character in his own right. I may start that thread in the pop culture forum as I am thinking of typing up that interview.

In any case, I will definitely be reading more of his work. I currently have a copy of "Veronika Decides To Die" so that will be the next book of his I will read. Thanks for the (sorta) recommendation. (I say sorta since I already owned two of his books before I saw you mention him...though I hadn't read them yet).

Right below this paragraph you will find part of a post from another thread that you might not have seen in which I was talking about some women in the adult industry who don't get the acclaim that they deserve. This is what I wrote about you:

Don't laugh, guess what I can dispense for medicinal purposes?)--Ok, most posters here probably will disagree with this choice as Penny is pretty big, accomplished, and has a large fan base. But I thought I'd start my list with the person who I think is the best in the business, so, based on that opinion, I think she is TOTALLY underappreciated. She has everything. She is beautiful, funny, smart, and the camera loves her. She can act and she probably could act in mainstream movies and tv. Her BTS bits are insanely entertaining and usually steal the show. I think you can even see/sense that the male talent takes a special liking to her, like they won a lottery drawing getting her over the other 4 or 5 girls. I'm a fan of Shane's World, but they can be very uneven, sometimes good...sometimes not. When Penny is involved, it's a homerun. They should let her run the place. She makes it hot, funny, she directs the films to have a flow, and her casting is impeccable. She's simply brilliant. I actually was watching Blazed and Confused 2 and wanted to see her wearing a bikini more than I did naked. I've seen her naked, but seeing her in a two piece on a boat or the beach was insanely hot. You know you are amazing when you are just as hot (in porn) to the fan when you're dressed and Penny sure is that. Personality, performance, talent, and she should be mega big. Everyone should be talking about her."

As I mentioned, I don't know you, so it's hard for me to know anything about your own personal confidence or what you really think of your own abilities. Obviously, you know that you're hot...but I have to assume that it gets old hearing that from strangers who you probably rightfully assume want to have sex with you.

But I've watched you from the beginning and I can honestly say that you have talent that is as good as there is in your business. And that goes well beyond your ability to have sex on film.

I have no idea what your future plans are, but you should direct more and act more. Yes, that might lead to eventually losing you from gonzo, but you are so multi-talented and you have your own future to think about.

The Shane's World titles are best when they have flow and when they seem to have some kind of general arc or story for the viewer to follow. When they don't, they simply come across as a mess. You've done some of the best work with them and, while you're a natural with comedy, you clearly have dramatic skill as well. Please do more directing and give yourself more credit.

You have an appeal that isn't only found in the adult movie business. People just seem to naturally gravitate to you because of your terrific personality. Use that to your advantage whether you're doing a scene or making a movie. There is no one like you in the porn business and I really want to see you become one of the most successful people in what you do, whether it be in front of the camera, behind it, or both.

You kind of seemed a bit perturbed when it was brought up that you should consider doing more than 1 scene in some of your Shane's World videos and I CERTAINLY don't want to piss you off.

But (there's always a but).

Don't be completely close minded to it or some kind of compromise when you are putting together the scenes in pre-production or if a spontaneous moment comes up during filming. I don't know how much of the stuff is put together before you go out to shoot and how much you improvise, but you are the main attraction.

I'll give you two HUGE examples where it really would have helped, imho, to have had someone gauging the way the shooting was going and possibly asking you to do a little more. And each time it wouldn't have involved another male.

There was a scene in Snow Trip when you and Dani Woodward were messing around and it had the feeling of something that was leading to a G-G scene. And nothing really happened and it ended up feeling like a missed opportunity. I would think the director would have sensed the heat in that scene and even if it wasn't planned, to at least try and get that into a full scene. Maybe you didn't want to, maybe Dani didn't want to...that's totally understandable. You're the ones who make the call. But if you both would have been amenable to doing it, that scene would have blown the roof off of the movie. I know that it was discussed here when the movie came out that it was disappointing to have not have that moment turn out to be an entire scene. While I know some of the sex in Shane's World is spontaneous (or needs to feel that way), certainly if someone recognizes that something unplanned has happened that would be good for the movie, it wouldn't be all that difficult to stop and sort of map out a plan into starting again and letting that scene go on with the others leaving the room.

I also believe that it was in one of the Girl's Night Out movies there was a scene with you and one of the girls in the jacuzzi. The other girl was waiting for a guy and it had the typical porn feeling to it that you and this girl were going to have a girl-girl scene in the jacuzzi while waiting for him to arrive and when it didn't happen, it left you kind of with a wanting feeling or, again, that it was a missed opportunity.

Again, I know that you want to direct and you probably want to cut down on your scenes rather than give yourself even more to do, but especially in the Shane's World stuff that you appear in and direct...you're the biggest draw. Your scenes have come close to 2 hours into the films, so maybe you'd consider either an earlier girl-girl scene, which is what you started off doing in the business, or at least giving us more teasing scenes, like shower scenes, naked pillow fights, peeing off balconies (ok, you did that one), and I'm just spit-balling here...I'm sure that you could come up with a plethora of equally good or better ideas.

You know, you just get in from the long flight and you're tired but horny and you and Emily take a shower, make out, and possibly (or not) have a full scene. Add in your many appearances and with all the goofy faces and comic stylings as our intrepid "guide" throughout the movie and then it doesn't seem like there isn't enough Penny before the 1 B-G scene you do.

It's just a suggestion and also a way to demonstrate that you don't have to do 2 boy-girl scenes as the only way to satisfy your fans who want to see more of you...especially in the Shane's World stuff where you are so incredibly natural and fun. But when those things come out, there is no denying that YOU are the main draw and that's why even a little more would be nice.
