Isn't it actually YOU who has the "problem" with these women? They are going to live their lives the way they see fit. They are going to have sex with whomever they choose. They are going to reject whomever they choose. Chances are that no amount of theats or abuse you hurl at them is going to change that fact. On the off chance that you do bully a woman into doing what you want her to do though, then once again I ask - Who's the one here who really has the problem? All you will have done is to assert yourself on a more vulnerable being than yourself. Why not just kick your dog while you're at it.

Great point, killbillvol69. I'd also like to add in the fact that if the industry did not have some problem with IR, then why are female performers expected to get a premium rate to do IR, as opposed to other types of performances? I mean, to go back to realtip's excellent post, the industry is certainly helping to keep this pervasive attitude alive.

That seems racist to me.

Interesting, very interesting!....I must say that I passed over this thread for a whole week because I thought that the heading was absurd!, but after reading the posts from Charlotte Vale, and Vanessa Blue, do I really need to throw my two cents in? (I asked myself). So with that said, I'll keep it brief...I strongly disagree with the heading, because I feel that no woman is going to do anything that she really doesn't want to do. However, money talks, and bullshit runs a marathon!, I mean that's what the majority of women are doing it for anyway, so if they know that they can damn near triple their normal rate for doing IR, then it wasn't pressure that made them change their mind, it was the ''Almighty Dollar''

Though IMO this thread does seem to keep repeating the same things over and over, the sheer size and passionate tone of it is enough to prove that it is not hyperbolic nonsense.
Race and racism is this country's open wound. It exists and it shouldn't. But at least we've come to the point that, where it does exist, somebody will drag it into the open where it cannot hide or pretend it is something else.
I for one, BTW the WASPiest WASP there is, witnessed a scene in a NORTHERN diner where nobody apologised for making a black soldier eat in the car without his white friends -- a soldier for God's sake!
That was 45 years ago. Such a thing today would outrage nearly every patron in the place and probably bankrupt the diner, if it wasn't torched on the spot. Chances also are that a few patrons would approve of such discrimination, even today. But they'd keep it to themselves if they did.
It's progress, but not enough, and, until there is, enough people will hunt for racism and occasionally see it where it doesn't exist. They should be a little more understanding sometimes, that like one poster said, what walks like a duck and quacks may not in fact be a duck. But it's still better than not seeing it where it does exist.
But because this particular debate is, I agree, going on in a forum where it is likely to come to nothing, it sure isn't an exaggerated or hyperbolized issue, nor is it nonsense.

what you need to tell us is : what's the purpose of your thread ?, the thing is , some women discriminate based on race, a lot of people here( including me) think it's a racist decision , you think it's not , so let's just leave at that, we're not going to change your mind and you sure as hell are not going to change ours, we will still think they're racist so what's the whole purpose of this thread ? to say we don't have the right to express our PERSONAL OPINION about a certain performer ? what about freedom of speech ?, if you don't like freedom of speech move to iran.
i really don't see the whole point of this thread it's pathetically repetitive and just mind-numbingly boring, the title alone is enough to make one vomit for a week

Yes it is 'exaggeration for effect' i.e. hyperbole.
But you said the thread was nonsense, not the thread's title. Call it nit-picking if you like, but there is quite a difference.

Completely irrelevant question and actually changing the subject. We want to know the why, not change the outcome.
Because knowing the why gets the truth out, which may change future outcomes.

Surely this is an issue that needs to be argued regarding two separate spheres: individuals, and society/culture/institutions at large. Society/culture/institutions are racist in many ways (and sexist, classist, ageist, homophobic etc), and foster racist attitudes. Women in porn operate within this framework.
Separately, individuals who operate within this framework, while responsible for racist beliefs, and the perpetuation of racist beliefs in many cases (consciously or unconsciously), may make decisions regarding their own body, and indeed have a right to their own body.
I get the impression that even those who are calling for people to quit attacking these women are not denying that certain decisions made are grounded in cultural/institutional racism. The point seems to be to question these decisions on a broader level than simply making personal attacks.
Also, it's never seemed particularly useful to call someone "racist" but rather to question their position according to cultural frameworks. It's less reactionary, and usually results in a more open dialogue between otherwise oppositional groups.

Agreed. Unfortunately the posters whose agenda it is to force white women to have sex with black men resort immediately to the claim of racism. All you have to do is look at the dozens and dozens of threads alleging that various female performers are racist.

If a performer makes broad negative statements about black men I think it's fair to say they are racist, it's not like that is too rare a thing in porn afterall. Similarly, claims that one doesn't find black men 'attractive' are laughable and I don't see any reason to lend them credence, as we all know that performers do all sorts of acts they don't find attractive for cash (like have sex with Ron Jeremy). Now if the performer was consistent in this claim, for instance Avy Scott and Annette Schwarz come to mind as performers who don't do anything on camera they don't actually enjoy, that's another matter. But we know those kind of women in porn are rare.
But I agree that to assume that simply because a woman is holding off on doing IR (probably to maximize the $$$ they can make) that she is racist, which is often the claim that many on the IR threads resort to.

Correct me if I'm wrong. You seem to be saying that although a person or institution is racist and by definition causing harm, one should not be so crude as to use thee word racist. We shoulde disassemble and come at the problem by degrees?

^ Kind of. I'm saying that it's not useful in certain situations - of course, sometimes it's just plain racist (as BlackSix notes, and I agree with). But even in these situations, individual attacks, in my opinion, are not fruitful if you're really trying to instigate change, or even open up someone's perspective. I always find that considering the person's ideology and then asking questions is much more fruitful. I always favor trying to instigate a dialogue, rather than "shutting down." That said, there are some cases where I have simply walked away, depressed, and couldn't be bothered with my ideal approach.

My contentions about dropping the R-bomb

  • It is way overused, especially during inappropriate times

  • It is used when there's no evident proof - R-bomb can cause a lot of personally damaging; people get condemned, fired, and even killed for being labeled as a racist, therefore, making accusations should not be taken lightly. I think if people are going to use it, these people better cite evidence and blatant examples (which I don't see many times here on ADT) justifying their accusations!
For example, one common ridiculous scenario that was previously mentioned (BlackSix?) is when a female performer who has not done IR to date (with no evident public reason), yet being cited as a racist or practicing racist behavior in a public forum (I think many times just out of frustration that the performer hasn't participated in this individual's sexual preference). Who's to say her motive is racist or she will not do IR in the future?

  • I'm all for calling-out/condemning racist statements and behavior (my grandmother was the most racist person I have known. Several family members including myself called her on it to her face). That being said, I see a lot of anti-racism activity directed at performers here, yet none against specific companies (including reps), who are often the worst offenders. The only people I have seen who even address the industry aspect are KB69 and GGG.

  • Granted this forum affords anonymity and privacy, however, this is not a reason for posters to exploit this fact and act like children when falsely attacking people (which I have seen a lot).

i think you're all taking this thing too seriously, i don't see how being called a racist on a PORN FORUM will really damage someone, i'm pretty sure they just laugh it off, so your concerns are unwarranted, if the guy wants to call any girl a racist , go ahead, i don't do that because i don't usually waste my time with them, but if he wants to, i see nothing wrong with that, that's his call.
i too, have no qualms about calling anyone a racist, like i said i've never done that, just read my posts and you'll see that i've never even talked to a dodger on this board but if someone asks me who is a bigot i'll gladly point them out.

Are you saying that because it's a PORN FORUM (your emphasis), the people who post here are somehow inferior? If so, that's just wrong. I mean yes, some of us are inferior - Don Fernando comes to mind. But, to say that all of us are inferior is just a sweeping generalization.

maybe, maybe not. However you are going on the record as saying it is not plausible for racist accusations to cause a performer gigs, economic damage, or create sentiment influencing others?
Also if this is a fact, why do it? Are you saying that your motives are nothing more than bullshit and others here should not take your posts seriously? If the case is the latter, I vote for ADT tech team to ramp up the dev of the 'Ignore button', stat!

i didn't say that i just don't think this thing is nearly as important as you're all making it out to be, you're all here trying to defend dodgers while they're safely sleeping in their beds, i doubt they give a shit what people have to say about them on porn boards, the mainstream public will not even take notice of what is posted here, the huge majority of porn buyers don't even know if jenna did interracial or not and frankly they don't care one way or the other.
also i do NOT believe anyone will be pressured into doing anything they don't want to, if they accept to do anything , under any circumstance, they did it for MONEY not because they were forced to, ask lisa ann , ask janine or any of those former dodgers if they were FORCED to do interracial
give me a break man , they're adults to make their own decisions, whatever they're doing they're doing for MONEY not because someone forced them.

Plenty of white women refuse to do scenes with black men. but NO black women refuse scenes with white men or any other race.
Does that mean black women have no power over there body? I think so. Black women know they have to do scenes with white men, no questions asked. Or does it mean all black women just love white men? You be the judge.
Point is these white women should have to be like black women. They chose the sex industry and race shouldnt matter. If it did so much they have the choice to go out
and get a real job.
This is how it is in europe as well. They dont love black men but they chose the sex industry and so they have no problem with us.

Why do the rules change for american white women??
Racist? yep. The people in this thread who say the women are racist are clearly right, so im done. the end.

Fair enough. But I'm not taking this seriously because I think ADT is going to have some kind of effect on someone; I'm considering people's feelings, and questions beyond the individual experiences we've been discussing. I hadn't even considered this to be an issue of damage to a performer's reputation in the industry until you mentioned it. I thought we were simply discussing the complexities of the issue, which, yes, I take seriously.

i really don't think calling them racist on a porn board will influence them in any way, their fans obviously don't care if they never did interracial and interracial fans will not watch them regardless of what people say, so there is no way in hell this will cause any economic damage, it would be great if it was true , really , but it's not, calling them racist won't change a damn thing.

lack100: I personally think that when women (i.e., performers) enter the businesses/industry and their occupations involve sex, they (esp. industry) should be subjected to all of the applicable US Labor Laws. In their private lives, I think this is a very different story and I think the government should not and has no right to interfere with an individual's sex life. I see a clear distinction between an individual's sex-life vs. occupational sex, if that makes sense.
That being said, I am against indicting and making racism allegations against specific individuals without clear evidence/proof. I have no problem with indicting the industry. Moreover, I think if people really feel strongly about this, they should collectively try and pressure/influence the industry to make changes, as this is a much more efficient method and has more impact than going by an individual basis.

The rules change because white females are more in demand in the porn industry. This has nothing to do with racism. It's just a demographic fact that there are far more white males consuming porn than there are black males consuming porn. White males, by a large majority, are attracted to white females. Hence, there is a disproportionately large demand for white females and a much lesser demand for black females. So, if you're a white woman and are relatively attractive, then you've got something everyone wants. It's not a racism thing. It's just a fact of life.

It is my contention and I have stated on numerous occasions, it is not the racial views of the individual performer. It is the industry that condone and rewards what is from appearances alone racist behavior. The performer who hold negitive racial views manages to restrain themselves in daily interaction with people of various ethnicity. The same restraint should be expected in porn.
It's is to be expected that some poster have no experience with discrimination. It's an abstract, intellectual exercise. while they will admit it exist somewhere out there. They are still awaiting more evidence before they make the call on the porn industry. These IR threads are shouting the alarm like the "canary in the coalmine"
It's presumptuous to claim that someone is being falsely attacked based on the idea that there isn't enough evidence. I don't think it would be healthy to wait until evidence in the form of white hoods appears.

I was gonna suggest that some of the posters wouldn't recognize racism if they were an attendee at a Klan meeting. Than I remembered it not the behavior it's the mean words.

.. this just never goes away. Here's the deal, one of my newest agents is Lee Bang. Yes, he is a black performer.. so we can't blame my agent for not allowing me to do IR. He in fact texted me the other day and jokingly said, "Let me know when you are ready to do IR scardy cat." He in no way, shape, or form pushes me to do anything I am uncomfortable with. But I can't really be racist or have major issues with black men if one of them represents me. I can't have too many issues if I hang out with him and his girl when I don't actually have to be at work. Do I truely have issues with having sex with black men? Yes. I do.
A valid point made in this topic?
My family would certanintly be pissed for IR. Some of them are still old fashion, southern people who believe that every race should date/reproduce within their own race. My uncle is a very racist man who one threw a fit because my brother brought over his black USMC recruiters to our christmas dinner. My mother and father aren't nearly as extreme. They do however believe that each race belongs within their race, but they wouldn't dis own me. My brother has dated a black girl.
You know what "issues" I have had with SOME black men? When you tell some of them that you have never done IR they try to push you into it. They become overly aggressive and accept this statement as a challenge. Some of them push boundaries beyond what is actually legal. At least some of them have done this to me. One case (out of four) is when I accepted an invite for ice cream with someone I considered very bright, interesting, and funny. I thought it would be fun to hang out with him. He later grabbed my face and tried to pin me down to kiss and lick my face.. Not hearing the words "NO." I do not like this aggression. It is scary. It is not appealing. That is def an issue I have, but it has not stopped me from making new IR friendships or furthing old ones.
I understand that me not doing IR is very black and white to some people. I've kind of accepted this because everytime I really try to make an attempt on where I stand, people lash out at me. I can name one person in this thread who is proably going to turn everything I have just written into some negitive arguement. It happenes everytime. This is not the exact agression and pressure I explained earlier, but it is close. It seems to me that some people just cannot accept a difference in taste. Some people like hairy, some people like feet, some people like anal, some people like bondage, some like latinas, some don't like IR. This is simple to me. Personally, I can't get off to feet.. but nobody post threads about biased feet haters.
Contrary to what everyone believes, I would like to say that last summer, I dated a black girl. It didn't last very long, but we did date and she even met my family. Of course we had sex. It was a relationship. I was very attracted to her. She was by no means a girly girl either. I'm not sure if anything I will ever say can make a difference. By me not having sex with black men, I have "issues".. and you know what, you are right, I guess I do. But all I am asking here is that we try not to be so biased on what those issues might be. Prefernce is not always underlying hatred. I have listed an "issue" that has nothing to do with my preference, but it def doesn't help me out with changing my mind. My tastes are very specific. I like tan skin/ pale skin. Brown hair. Brown eyes. I have dated 2 people with colored eyes. I am attracted to latin men because they fall in to my tastes. I have seen 2 asian guys. They have lighter skin. I also like their body frames.. usually small/shorter/slim. This is just what I'm into. On the topics of girls my taste tends to vary more on personality. I like studs more than girly girls and I'm not quite sure why I don't have a prefernce on how they look, the color of their hair, or the color of their eyes.
It's a complicated stance... but let's just all stop believeing the biased black and white reasons and know that someone's attraction for someone else may be just as complicated as explaining love, god, and ghosts. What I would love to see is for people to stop discriminating against sexual prefernce (gay, race, fetishes, color of hair, weight, age, shape, ect) and accept the simple fact that differences are normal; stop labeling those who don't share your prefrence and spend more energy on trying to understand and accept that person's point of veiw and enjoy their personality for who they are. Remaining biased and upset is only closing your mind to potential valid points and different ideas. We can not discriminate against sexual prefrence. It is unjust.

Following your thoughtful reply, I might have misinterpreted your post. This thread has become such a bramble fuck, I have stopped trying to understand it and I just replied to the more recent stuff.
No, references to white hoods don't offend me. My reaction was just to your statement, "I don't think...". I thought you were trying to elicit an inappropriate response with your KKK reference and I didn't think it was relevant.
As for your contentions, I agree. Racism and racist behavior (including talk) can be and is abstract to many people, including minorities. I find experiential knowledge is always beneficial in these types of discussions, like you said, to merely help others, who might not have as much direct experience, conceptualize these 'foreign sentiments'. But as I mentioned in a previous post, I don't think it's helpful to shove any 'racism/racial inexperience' in another person's face (this is a general comment & I am not inferring you do this).
So no harm, no foul. My list is getting longer though

Me too.
The arguments in this thread almost certainly will change nothing in porn or in the minds of we posters.
But...
I personally have found much here to give me pause, make me think, and to make me optimistic that racism will sooner than later be thought of by everyone as the lunatic foolishhness it is.
Most of the responses have been thoughtful, intelligent and very honest, and I would quickly point to this thread to refute anybody’s stereotype of the porn fan as a drooling gutter-minded creep.
Beyond that, the thread shows real effort from everyone writing here to be fair, sensitive to the harm that racism does, and to condemn it, even as they question where it exists.
Whatever any of us believes here about racism within the adult industry, I’m pretty sure we would all concur that racism in any form is unfair, stupid, and wrong.
I think that most of us have the same good purpose in writing here: to point out that while a person has no right to PREjudge another, they have every right to judge them, i.e. to like or dislike what they do or say or look like, etc. and to act in accordance with their judgment.
I have seen few posts here that did not plainly seek to be fair and reasonable in defending the individual’s right to choose what they will do and who they will do it with, to, as MLK put it, judge a person, “not by the color of his skin but by the content of his character.”
We're chasing our tail alright, but it's a tail worth chasing and I think someday we're gonna catch it.

Well you're not gonna find anything, because Mike John didn't put it into words, other than his series "Racial Tension", yet another horror story.

It's a well known fact that some people aren't attracted to people of certain races and no one can blame them. Most of the people who do IR date white men in real life and I'm sure they find white guys more attractive. For the most part, when someone says that he will never have sex with a man or a woman, it doesn't mean that he/she finds him/her "not " attractive. What it means is that you find the person extremely repulsive. I personally don't find asian women attractive but I will be foolish to think that there is no attractive asian woman in the world or that there is no asian girl I could ever have sex with. The same women who refuse to work with black men because they don't find them attractive don't have standards when it comes to men of other races. As long as the male talent isn't black, he is AUTOMATICALLY ATTRACTIVE.I can't criticise someone who is not attracted to a specific look or certain features of a specific race. However, if you find everyone from a specific race Unattractive to the point where you can't fuck them, there's SOMETHING FISHY ABOUT THAT....

From my experience I know that a lot of white guys don't find black women attractive but I'm sure there is very few non-racist white guys who will refuse to do girls like Beyonce, Halle Berry or Tyra Banks if they are getting paid. However I won't be surprised if David Duke turns down all kind of money if he is being paid to have sex those girls.

the funny thing about all this is that the woman with initials HW , who just happened to post here and claim to have problems with black men doesn't really look that "white" to me , i know latinos who look more caucasian than her i'm pretty sure she's mixed with something else lol, something tells me she would have trouble joining the sacred brotherhood (aka KKK) ha ha ha ha ha ha

why cant a girl say no i dont want to do something and that be the end of the discussion? why should she have to give a reason? if someone says no thanks id rather not do that thats enough for me without trying to dig and pry and find some underlying, hidden reason..
but i understand with some ppl that will never be enough because with some ppl everything is about race..

Yes it is getting ridiculous now. Someone gives a reason but it is still not enough.
Now the pornstar is getting taunted now about what race she is. It is starting to look like bullying now. I am going to give these threads a wide berth from now on.
I would advise any pornstar not to come on to this thread as you are banging your head against a brick wall [o\|]
There has been loads of good points been made on both sides of the argument but i think i am starting to think it is a waste of time.

I understand your point, and agree that such feeling of racial revulsion would be unreasonable (and damned silly besides). But, by itself, is it racism?
Honestly, I don't know. But, if a person is in every other way even-handed, fair, and supportive in dealing with people of different race, if he is in all OTHER ways effectively color blind, I would have trouble calling his reluctance to be intimate racism.
