Speaking as a paysite owner, the number of newcomers entering studio-based porn, did not change after OF. But the number of "veterans" declined or their prices jacked up. And the newcomers left studio-based porn quicker after they used it to establish a fan base in order to promote their OF eg. Blake Blossom.

I think OF hurt the cams side of the business more. OF takes only 20% of a girl's cut, while cams take as much as 70%. OF gives a girl a reliable, recurring income. Cams only pays you when you perform. an OF content creator only needs to post a few videos per week, pre-recorded to satisfy the users. Cam requires a girl to sit in front of a computer bullshitting for hours, hoping to catch a whale.

This article is damning. I think any site allowing sexual content creation needs to invest significant technology and human resources to avoid illegal content on the platform. I am not sure it will it will ever happen. Content creators should just make their own websites.

and thats exactly why i dont get the whole thing about getting rid of porn (i wonder if they would still do it if they would comply with the "paperwork" )

And like i said before only a few people can afford to be a paying member to every girl they want to follow. When they offer their clips on a clip site like C4S or

MV a user can pick what he wants , pay and be happy (or not)

Ive joined loyalfans. It seems where alot of performers are either going or strongly considering going. I have to get used to it and following Abigail Mac she said she has to get used to it too. One thing I like about loyalfans so far is you can follow someone without actually subbing. I dont know if you can still purchase vids if you arent sub. I do know there is a vids store section and you get to see previews of the vids so that should be great for those who say they never got to see previews of vids on onlyfans. Ill just have to get used to the coins system rather than straight up spending the cash on vids. That shouldnt be hard though.

Seems more and more likely that fansly will be the new OF. and it too gives you the option to follow a person without subbing although it doesn't look like previews are mandatory on locked posts

^ Ive also been seeing that fansly probably will end up treating sex workers like OF did too just how things are shaping out already. For me I think loyalfans, justforfans, and pocketstars seem like more of the way to go for sex workers than fansly. Then there is peach but I think it just started up based on the fallout from OF.

Ill add that I just read where Abigail Mac said she spoke with the owner of loyalfans several time over the phone. She said she feels very safe on there and love all the features. She also said she can make the same revenue there. Also she said loyalfans will have crypto very soon. I feel like thats the key too because of Mastercard and Visa. So I hope more and more sex workers hear that loud and clear and feel great about moving to loyalfans.

Offering videos at that high bitrate wasn't sustainable. Time has proven that customers prefer convenience not quality.

This is going to be a problem for anyone who currently has an OF account and is looking to relocate to another platform because unless that platform has a better infrastructure(I doubt it) to OF then their move will be short lived because that platform is quickly going to face the same problems OF faced and I think they will face it a lot faster because OF didn't start with millions of accounts. The slowly added new accounts over months but any new OF platform is going to get overrun with hundreds of thousands if not millions of account request.

If OF basically admitted that they had too many accounts and not enough staff to properly monitor what was being uploaded then what is the likelihood that a new player is going to be better prepared for the problems that affected OF?

So apparently OF has suspended the planned October 1st policy change. They have heard everyone loud and clear. As a result they have moonwalk faster than the late great Michael Jackson lol.

Now I dont know what that means in terms of "suspended"? It could mean they still could reinforce the policy at any time they see fit or it could be they finally come to understand that sex workers made them who they are today so its best to stick with them instead of running them away. If I was a sex worker I wouldnt trust it. Still have a backup plan because if OF was going to pull crap like this once who is to say in the future they wont do it again. For now though it looks like all is good and sex workers and the fans can stay on OF if they so choose.

^ Thats so true. It really is a no brainer. I think by using the word "suspended" instead of "end" or "cancelled" the policy changes they are still trying to appease both sides to keep everyone somewhat happy. Nevertheless its a win right now for SW'ers but I hope they get more clarity into what "suspended" truly means. But again 1000% they realized that they wouldnt survive without SW'er who literally made them what they are today.

If there are about 2 million content creators, and if 1.5 million of them are doing porn, and if only 3% of them decided to email OnlyFans to criticize the situation, that is 45,000 new issues to try to smooth out. OnlyFans has probably been inundated with email traffic, with everyone honking their horns.

Business as usual for some but for others the trust is lost and won't be returning; or at the very least will no longer use a single platform. Smarter to have a backup plan or use more than 1 option in case this happens again. Should use the opportunity to grow subscribers elsewhere; someplace better. Apparently a lot of creators didn't save original copies of their content so they should look into re-obtaining it or risk losing it suddenly.

Hi pat362,

I am trying to build a good link, but it gets redirected away from the specific page with the videos when I submit the link here at ADT. So here is a screenshot instead, taken while an animated gif was running. I could not upload the animated gif either. You can of course use the data in this image for research if you like.

[Edit: additional information]
Try copying and pasting this URL I did not build the link because that messed things up. Several videos with notifications.

OnlyFans reverses its decision to prohibit sexually explicit content

"was pressured into making the proposed changes in October due to pressure from payment providers and banking partners.

It said the diversion away from sexual content would aid in its ability to raise more than $1 billion from outside investors.

The new rules would have likely made it difficult for sex workers to sell their usual sexually explicit content."

Thanks kronas. I honestly have no idea what she might have edited out of her videos nor why she would have had to edit anything because most of them don't appear to be include anything remotely sexual in nature. I did check out some of her tweets and she does appear to have had to make changes because she did not have the proper model documentation needed to upload adult oriented content but as I have already stated. Very little of her content is sexual.

I also have to point out that I'll have to see more than one store edit their content to believe this is an actual thing because I know of at least one very popular site that edited the text describing the action but didn't edit the actual video.

Did OnlyFans Pull Off A Marketing Stunt ...?

"The problem with trying to attract significant financial investors is that they are reluctant to be associated with pornographic content. OnlyFans also was limited in its distribution as it hasn't been available as an app via the Apple and Google stores, which ban pornography. The ban would allow a far wider reach.

Additionally, according to ... Stokley, JP Morgan Chase, Bank of New York Mellon, and the U.K.'s Metro Bank had cut off OnlyFans' ability to pay explicit content creators.

So while sex sells to the general public, it doesn't fly with banks."

"was the whole thing one big prank on the world? A brilliant marketing stunt that fooled the world and gave OnlyFans tens of millions of dollars worth of free exposure.

I'm going to lean in favor of the marketers. Not just due to my natural bias but because another keyword seems to have been skimmed over. And to me, it seems to be a crucial part of this PR stunt.

The policy banning explicit content is suspended. They haven't reversed it or canceled it, which many people seem to have missed. So it could come back at any time."

Like when perhaps they need some new free PR?

Doubtful. Everyone thought the Friendfinder leak was a stunt. It wasn't.
Everyone thought the pornhub thing was a stunt and ExodusCry was paid by pornhub. They weren't.

When OF announced their ban, a flood of content creators signed up to other platforms. When you run a platform, you don't want your content creators doing that. If anything, this might have spooked the potential investors. The platform game is all about attracting content creators and their audience. It's a key indicator.

I'm wondering what is the STD testing protocol for OF? I guess for people who only do "single" stuff it might not really apply, but what about those that do actual sex there? Are they required to get tested? Who would enforce this?

^It's probably more complicated than it should be. The simple answer is that if you are a porn content producer who has sexual contact with another person than both of you should have a valid 14 day test because that's the rules but since there isn't an actual controlling agency that monitors those rules then it's left to the content producer to uphold the rules. Since a lot of OF content is solo in nature then why would anyone spend money on a test that even if it showed the presence of an STI. It wouldn't and shouldn't prevent that person from having sex with themselves as they can't get more infected or infect anyone else.

The problem is that I'm not too sure that OF models who produce their own content are as diligent as they should be on the status of the person they are about to have sex with when it comes to a valid 14 day STI test. Not even sure most of them could recognize a true unaltered test to one that has been altered. Can any content producer contact the testing lab to verify the validity of a test?

If the below article is accurate then I expect OF is going to be in the same trouble in and around the time they were looking to get rid of adult content because I doubt many of their accounts and I include their top ones have the information necessary to meet MC new requirements and I'm not sure they could get that info after the fact to allow them to keep their content on their OF page. I also don't think OF has the staff to monitor and verify that info in real time so I won't be surprised to see many OF accounts close down or see a significant portion of their content disappear, Nor will I be surprised if OF has to do what they first claimed they were doing and then changed their mind on. In fact I would argue that every single thing directed at OF is the same now as it was last week when they announced that they were banning adult content and since the below article basically explains what OF has to do then what has changed to make OF reverse course on banning aduult content??

Does this mean MasterCard could ask for access to all ppv content a creator puts up on onlyfans, including messages? With how many accounts there are, that's a crazy amount of content to potentially go through, even if they only do random checks.

The article is somewhat accurate except for the commentary that "This is not a law, this is a billing requirement". This is the law. An adult platform is supposed to have all 2257 documentation, but the tubes skirted this by the grey interpretation that the content provider must have the 2257 info, not the tube itself.

The other notable addition is the ability to request and remove content which some tubes do not allow and did not do. That's also the law, because in order for the tube to pass safe harbor for DMCAs, you must give the content creators the ability for removal, and people infringed upon, the ability to request removal.

This all stems from the pornhub incident. It's not an attack against porn, but the credit card companies finally making sure everyone is compliant. For anyone who has been operating above board this entire time, this is not news, and nothing changes.

The real unknown is how this might affect platforms like Reddit and Twitter - both allow adult content, and both use CC for payment processing of certain things such as ad spend and memberships. Does that mean every pornstar on twitter have to upload docs for each adult post?

Hmm, what if a Content producer sells tokens. The CC sees that i bought tokens. Tokens dont need paper work (i guess) and dont have an age issue . Later i can change the

tokens into anything i want to obtain from the content provider. Problem solved ?

^I've seen a few OF women suggest I buy their PPV through alternate means instead, presumably to avoid giving OF 20% of the cut (coincidence or not they also turned out to be ripoffs). So I'm sure most chicks have set up multiple ways for you to pay them if you get in touch (paypal, wiring the money, amazon wishlist etc).

The big fat "ONLYFANS" on your bank statement is really annoying, most pornsites CC statements are discreet.

Content producers are vetted and need to tell the CC companies what the tokens are for. If they lie and the CC companies find out, they would lose CC processing immediately. Such a trick would be unlikely to work. The content producer would be better off just accepting crypto such as a stablecoin. But you would only need to go this route if you were producing illegal or highly questionable content.

Most adult content producers have no reason to abandon credit cards in favour of something like crypto, because crypto adoption and transactions are still in its infancy and you lose the revenue generating advantages of a subscription model.

While it looks like CCs and traditional banking are currently attacking porn, it's really a cleanup of a small, but highly toxic group of bad actors. My banks and the CCs haven't told me to stop what I'm doing, nor told Jules Jordan, or anyone else. They haven't even told the individual content creators on OF to stop. But when you operate a platform such as OF, everything is lumped together. So the few bad actors on OF posting child porn, bestiality, etc, caught the attention of the banks and it affects everyone on the platform.

Am I the only one who's needed to forwarded a credit card statement to someone else to review for an improper charge, proof or purchase for a lost receipt, etc? Or discuss over the phone your billing statement with a card rep?

Another perspective.

"Stokely [said] The Bank of New York Mellon had flagged and rejected every transfer connected to the company and made it difficult for the company to pay its creators and pointed to JPMorgan as being "particularly aggressive" in closing accounts of any businesses that supported sex workers.}

"Michelle Battersby ... says OnlyFans is abandoning the creators who built its business.

"OnlyFans has never outwardly acknowledged the pornography, nor the adult content on their platform, but it is this core creator that has contributed billions of dollars to their platform, and the large majority of those profitable creators are women," she says. "This isn't about them having issues with payment providers. It's about them having a reputation they don't like and an inability to raise money.""

"The backflip on the explicit content ban raises questions as to whether OnlyFans could have survived without the content it is known for.

After blogging site Tumblr banned sexually explicit content in 2018, the site, which was bought by Yahoo for $US1.1 billion in 2013, sold for just $US3 million in 2019.

Lawless says: "OnlyFans could completely die like Tumblr did but even if OnlyFans does go under, it doesn't solve the actual issue, which is credit cards and banking institutions forcing platforms into this situation.""

(Sex sells for OnlyFans but not when it scares financial institutions)

Tumblr didn't die because of the banning of explicit content. Their traffic already started declining because users who wanted to post pictures moved onto platforms like instagram - where there was a mobile app and social features that made it easier to reach more people. Second use for Tumblr was by people wishing to showcase and retail their products, which shopify quickly proved better.

Thanks for the article. A bit of an opinion piece. Why do none of these articles ask streammate, livejasmin, or friendfinder, if they are experiencing banking problems? They do almost as much business as Onlyfans, and could provide frontline insight. This is rhetorical question.

^ I thought this was the most interesting comment.

"This isn't about them having issues with payment providers. It's about them having a reputation they don't like and an inability to raise money."

So, were OnlyFans just using that as a cover?
