In fact, the lady who played Brie was so good and well cast, that I had a hard time enjoying her performance. I love All About Eve and didn't realize this was a remake of it until about ten minutes in. Good film. |

| alphadachs Member 475 Posts 3/10 | Mystique An excellent, moody, atmospheric movie from Roberta Findlay. Georgina Spelvin is outstanding, as always, as a photographer who is dying from an unspecified illness. Alone in her beachside house, she takes in a mysterious, callous stranger (Samantha Fox) who becomes her lover but torments her with emotional cruelty. Spelvin is losing herself in sexual fantasies so that the line between what is and isn't real becomes blurred to an extent only clear at the end of the movie. A bleak, melancholy picture of someone fragmenting while dying, this is sometimes harsh watching. (I might especially note in that regard a scene in which Spelvin is raped in her bath by two men; given the recent thread on rape scenes, some viewers might want to be forewarned.) But, it also has some beautifully erotic images; in particular, the g/g scene/montage with Spelvin and Fox. For Richer For Poorer The Dream team from Devil in Miss Jones, Damiano and Spelvin, pair up again. Not a lot to this movie. At the beginning, Georgina is dumped by her husband (R. Bolla) for another woman. Their house sold, and belongings moved out, she wanders through the empty house, stopping in the bedroom where we see two memories suggesting a limited sex life, with her very repressed: first a very perfunctory looking fuck; then, Bolla talks her into giving him a reluctant blowjob, arguing that everybody does it these days. (But, such a lovely blowjob!) Trying to deal with her new situation, she has a very long dream sequence guided by a man she describes as being unknown to her, though it is R. Bolla again. In the dream, she has a number of erotic experiences that awaken her to her sexual potential. Nothing really wild or outrageous, but quite sexy and beautiful as Spelvin's scenes so often are. Later, she meets Bobby Asytr in a cafe, having a long leadup to sex in a typical sort of romantic montage. Blossoming in her sexuality, the movie ends with her and Bobby at a party wherer she meets the ex, who is stunned by her transformation and nagged by his new girl. So, not a lot here, but ... I found this to be an extremely erotic movie. The cinematography, lighting, pacing, the score, but most of all the phenomenal Georgina Spelvin make this sizzle. I recommend both movies to fans of Golden Age films and fans of Georgina Spelvin. There is a great deal that is sensual and beautiful here. Besides, how often (as in Mystique) can one hear Kathleen Ferrier singing Mahler in an adult movie? |

Loved seeing Kristara Barrington and Chelsea Blake together -- the kind of pairing you'd never expect, but occasionally luck out with in those transitional years. Ginger is indeed scorching and Kelly Nichols throws in her brand of classy unbridled whorishness to round out a stellar porn experience. |

| alphadachs Member 475 Posts 3/10 | The Marriage Counselor The principal male character is a dreary sap, the principal female a snotty bitch. Jonathan Morgan's humor doesn't strike me as funny. All the women here have unattractive fake tits (especially depressing in the case of Kirsten Price, who used to be searingly hot). The sex scenes are not outrageously long, but seemed like it; with routine sex and unappealing (to me) women, I wound up fast forwarding at least through parts of every one of them. Fallen (Wicked from 2008). Directed by Brad Armstrong and starring (very prominently) Jessica Drake, plus a promising premise (a guardian angel who fails to protect her charge and loses her wings and her way), this looked quite intriguing. I have enjoyed some of Mr Armstrong's movies and Ms Drake is the complete package: off hand, I can't think of anyone in porn today who is better overall than she. (And, in a completely extraneous aside, does anyone have as beautiful a pussy?) But, I found this disappointing. After nicely setting things up at the beginning, the plot just seems to be put on hold while we go through a series of sex scenes that stalled the narrative and failed to excite, and the story never does feel fleshed out. We start with a short scene with Armstrong and Jenna Haze: fairly nice, but ordinary. Next, an orgy that feels interminable; the quick cuts kept me from sustaining any interest, the emotional disconnect off putting, the saturation in reds and darknesses eye wearying. Zip past this turkey. Then, Randy Spears fucks Ms Drake on the trunk of his cop car while he works his nightstick up her ass; sounds hot, perhaps, but the scene had an overall feeling of coldness that undercut the action on screen. Jennifer Dark does two guys in a scene that was boring, pointless, and way too long. Finally, Ms Drake and Mr Armstrong get together for a very hot, sexy scene with great chemistry. This is what I have been waiting for, but here we are an hour and ten minutes into the film and my interest is being engaged for the first time (sex or plotwise) -- too little, too late to save this film. So, too little story development, too much uninvolving sex make this a thumbs down for me. Oh, one other note: you are given the choice of three separate endings to the movie. Only the default ending (Afterlife) really worked. The other two were a poor fit, contrived and awkward. Stick to the default. This movie came in a four-disc package. I watched disc 1, the movie. I suppose I could use the others as coasters or Frisbees. I have no other use for them. |

Jesus that shit is expensive. Oh well. It'll be well worth it I expect. |

| alphadachs Member 475 Posts 3/10 | Maraschino Cherry Fans of Radley Metzger's Opening of Misty Beethoven and Private Afternoons of Pamela Mann won't find their equal here. This movie shares the weaknesses of Barbara Broadcast with somewhat less of the charm. Supposedly the story of a high class madam showing her younger sister the ropes in the trade, it largely loses that thread in a weakly episodic structure; it meanders around in an incoherent way, going for style over substance but managing too little of either. And yet, all that being said, here are some parts that all by themselves are worth the price of admission: The matador scene with Constance Money and a girl and guy I can't identify. The gradual build up to the scene is an erotic slow burn that is even hotter than the sex itself. Annette Haven ... (do I even need to finish this sentence? Isn't that enough?) ... in the piano bar scene. Seeing her lying naked atop the piano with Gloria Leonard savoring her pussy is a sensual thrill. Then, a guy joins in, first offering his cock to her mouth before sliding down to take Ms Leonard's place. To soft piano music, Ms Haven writhes slowly under his mouth. Then, when he penetrates her, a quiet "Oh!" escapes her lips as her neck arches and her head is thrown back in an incredibly sexy image. A simply gorgeous moment in a gorgeous scene. In a very short segment, Lesllie Bovee and Eric Edwards lying on their sides in 69. The view is from Ms Bovee's back in a shot divinely beautiful. This is measured in seconds, not minutes, but this heavenly sight of Ms Bovee as well as Ms Haven's expostulation in the previously mentioned scene are two brief, searing moments that will linger long in my memory. The dungeon scene, with Gloria Leonard and Annette Haven dominating C.J. Laing. Not great, perhaps, but interesting. Ms Laing is kneeling naked, bent over a hot plate, arms extended horizontally to her sides palms down, a glass of Scotch balanced on the back of each hand, while Ms Leonard ass fucks her with a dildo. The look on Ms Laing's face as she strains not to spill is another of those priceless shots that make this movie worth your time (well, it was worth my time, at any rate). While I am at it, a brief note on another movie, though not actually a feature film: Klimaxx (Kramski, 1997) How to describe this movie? Pretentious twaddle. A monument to tedium. An exercise in empty style. A waste of an hour and a half. Move along folks, nothing to see here. Well, okay, there was one brief, arresting visual: seen from behind, a woman, naked, standing in a foundry, body oiled and gleaming. A lovely three second moment in a mountain of slag. (It led into the one sequence that could have been interesting had she not stared into the fucking camera throughout the entire scene.) |

| Gore Gore Girl Doctor of the Erotic Arts 7238 Posts 1/09 | Lost and Found (thanks BlackSix -- this looks cool, and I'm excited to see my very first Xander Corvus flick. Nice packaging too!). A Taste of Money (looks intriguing -- I can't tell if this is fact or fiction or somewhere in between. Either way, lots of Constance Money!). I will report back! I recently watched Society Affairs (1981, I think). It was ok. Veronica Hart is adorable, no big surprise, and this is the first Harry Reems flick I've seen from this period. Holy smokes, he is ripped! And he does some stunts too -- climbing up buildings and such. That was fun. Film as a whole was just ok, but worth it to see a Reems scene where R. Bolla does an exercise routine on various pieces of equipment in the background. Weird. Oh, note to the customer: the final scene between Hart and Reems is cut from the Cabbalero release. WTF??? I wanted to see that. |

| Robert Member My past is a foreign country. Most things are different there, including word usage. 503 Posts 12/06 | According to IAFD there were ten scenes - Scene 1. Lily Rodgers, Harry Reems Scene 2. Veronica Hart, R. Bolla Scene 3. Honey Wilder, Tara Aire Scene 4. Tara Aire, Harry Reems Scene 5. Anna Ventura, Laurie Smith Scene 6. Tiffany Clark, Harry Reems Scene 7. Cecile DeVille, Carmel, Lisa Cintrice, Harry Reems, R. Bolla Scene 8. Honey Wilder, R. Bolla Scene 9. Honey Wilder, Harry Reems Scene 10. Kelly Nichols, Harry Reems No Veronica Hart,Harry Reems listed. I didn't think a Veronica Hart,Harry Reems scene had been cut, since that would have been out of character (as I understood their relationship). Maybe not and a 'last scene' was cut. |

Except perhaps Harry and Veronica, when at last they wrap up the picture and themselves in bed together very romantically." The whole film circles around their sexual tension, then they drive away with the gifts, and during the credits you hear wrapping paper being torn off and then it ends. It felt like a scene was missing. Can anyone confirm? |

I think it's especially worth it for Blonde Ambition and Deep Inside Annie Sprinkle. The booklets that come with the dvds, and the little special gifts (card finger puppet for Annie Sprinkle, film strips for BA), are real treats. I paid the full price for both, and was thrilled with my purchase. Oh, and yes, the picture/sound quality is great. They look lovely. Edited by - Gore Gore Girl on 4/30/2011 1:12:18 PM |
| alphadachs Member 475 Posts 3/10 | Fuck Its brusque title notwithstanding, this is an often beautiful, creative movie, not a feature with plot so much as a series of vignettes on sex through history and across cultures. There is a lot that I loved about Fuck, and I recommend it with some reservations, but personally I will have to give it a frustrated thumbs down primarily for the horrid, horrid editing -- too much frenzied, fast cuts, flashing images, and jerky effects that ... well, Fucked up the flow. I wanted to castrate the editor and feed his balls to beetles. It opened with a barbarian scene -- think Conan and two warrior maidens -- that was unwatchable. Most of the time I would have killed for a shot that lingered long enough for my eyes to focus. Just horrible. That neither woman, silicone and all, interested me also hurt, but it was the frenetic jumps that made this unbearable. The next, short scene was far better, but still partly spoiled by editing with too much jerkiness. Ice La Fox is six-armed Goddess Kali (with two other women carefully concealed behind her providing the extra arms). All oral: she sucks and strokes four guys and drinks their ejaculate. Very sexy, very well done (though I never really thought of Kali as being pouty before!). We then get an all-girl orgy: four women in the guise of painted dolls/marionettes. Both this and the next scene placed style over raw heat, which many will find detrimental; both worked for me. The setting, the costumes, the concept, all marvelous. Armstrong wisely takes his time in letting this beautiful scene develop. It runs on perhaps a little long and emphasizes toys too much for my taste, but is very memorable. Once again, the flow is marred by jerks, halts, sudden accelerations. Next, dinner and debauchery of the nobles. A beautifully done orgy -- so hard, apparently to do! -- with sizzling women, treated by the film maker with lavish, loving care; all look so desirable, a worthy treat for a king. For the record, the jewels here were Katsuni, Kirsten Price, Mia Smiles, and Carmen Hart, ravishing all. The early parts of the scene were once again -- broken record -- irritatingly jittery, but it settled down and smoothed out later. Constant quick cuts made the fifth scene an editing nightmare, but I wouldn't have liked it anyway. Unfortunately, I found the woman in it unattractive and the blowjobs ugly. The relentless, repetitive music also got old in a hurry. Fast forwarded through this. Finally, future time, Jessica Drake as android -- prelude to 2040? Magnificently beautiful woman, probably great sex, knowing her past track record, but the incessant flashing images finally exhausted my patience and I skipped the rest, so will never know. So, an often stunning, lavish, sumptuous, sexy movie with three gorgeous if partially marred scenes (Kali, the Dolls, dinner orgy) and three scenes rendered completely unwatchable by vicious editing. Kill the editor, recut the film, and you will have a fine evening's entertainment. As it is, it's almost worth it for the art design alone. (For those interested in such things, I also note that this came with a second disc of extras. As usual, I didn't watch them, so can't tell you what was on provided.) |
| Gore Gore Girl Doctor of the Erotic Arts 7238 Posts 1/09 | Fuck is one of the first adult films I owned, but I'm pretty sure I never watched it. It's not even on the shelf -- it's in the drawer (this designates it an "out of circulation" film). But now you have me intrigued with the multiple arms thing. I may give it a whirl. |

The plot is just light enough to tie everything together. Unlike Girlfriend for Hire the story here pretty much exists just to tie the sex scenes together, but I didn't care as it had plenty of fun doing it. Ann Marie and Tiffany Taylor each turn out hot scenes, but the sex as a whole works well and is nicely consistent.
