^ Big fan of Alpha France and that has a very iconic scene and one I added as some others (eg Leslie Bovee boilerroom scene) were already posted in the Most AROUSING scenes from 70s/80s films?

Niice!!
Brigitte looked drop dead gorgeous in that scene. Visually the whole movie was pretty stunning, even detracted my attention away from Celine Gallone using a gem lettuce leaf in an unconventional manner in her scene with Dominique Aveline.

La Dernière Nuit aka Shocking! (1976)
Another Alpha France Claude Mulot movie (dubbed).
There's a superb performance from Emmanuelle Parèze (latest retro crush) in this, the best performance I've seen of hers so far. She plays a classy ex prostitute married to a wealthy business owner (who still has to pay her). They throw a last supper style dinner party as the Cold War becomes World War III and 24hrs before nuclear annihilation, she's going out with a bang either way. She adds twists and game play into the classy dinner party along with some outrageous dirty talk that certainly lowers the tone.
Strong performances, strong plot with humour and superb visuals make this for me a pretty good show and one to watch if you don't mind 70s Euro flicks or just curious.

^ Another Alpha France fav but for mine Karine Gambier stole the show. Her perfect bod glistening in candlelight bouncing up and down. But her being groped during the home movie with everyone else in the room, now that is the kind of erotic thing completely absent from today's porn.
Have you seen La Femme Objet? Starring Marilyn Jess perfectly cast as the perfectly designed woman.

^Karine Gambier looked amazing! That's one of the things I like about these movies, making the women look spectacular is a common trait, add a solid plot then put the camera in the hands of Roger Fellous and you're pretty much guaranteed something special.
La femme-objet is another great movie don't think or want to get rid of that memory when Marilyn Jess enters the room, wow! Another movie I particularly liked was Jouissances Perverses, definitely worth giving a go if you haven't seen it. I could easily talk about these movies all day, pretty much hooked at the moment.

Wow! You are not going to believe this.. that was the movie I wanted to recommend but couldn't remember the name of it, Le Femme Objet was easier to remember and my second choice. The brunette scene in the back seat of the car is amazing!!!! A fine example of girl who is not classically beautiful.. but with a full voluptuous body and a scene done properly is incredibly hot! I tried to find more of her but from memory she didn't do many other movies or did not look as hot as she did in that one.
I could easily talk about this all day too, so I will .. :)
Starting in the mid 80s (when I got my license) I went through ALOT of porn, vhs tapes I rented or exchanged and for about a decade must have had at least a couple every week. Some memorable, from the beginning where Electric Blue starting on the soft stuff, but most are just a blur now with the odd scene or moment immortalized in the spank bank. With some noticeable standouts.. Hot Rackets, Pretty Peaches 2, BabyFace, Tale of Tiffany Lust, Buttman's Big Tit Adventure 1, Haunted Nights and the masters Andrew Blake and Michael Ninn... then was away for porn for many years...
Until a mate showed up with the 'You gotta see this!' Jules Jordan's Flesh Hunter DVD - The ass, moments that make you go 'wow'
And with that and the massive boom in porn and gonzo dvds kept me busy lol
But recently started getting bored with the same stuff churned out over and over, and coincidentally was around the same time new neighbours moved in who were huge cult movie buffs and got me onto stuff I have never even heard of, mainly non-porn but also the good stuff, and have been hooked ever since.
Amazing even with all those 80s vhs and dvds, more than 2 decades of porn, I never really got back into the 70s. Always seemed to have this stigma about it, that today's porn is obviously better.. its all hair and wa-wa music.. its almost lolworthy. When in actual fact it is some of the best. So I have been discovering two huge holes in my porn edumacation: 70s sleaze and Alpha France.

^Looks like we're singing from the same hymn sheet just now.
Extases extra-conjugales aka Blue Ecstasy (1976)
More Calude Mulot who isn't letting me down at all right now, strong plots and superb visuals are becoming the norm, something I know I shouldn't be taking for granted. There's some memorable scenes in this movie and some funny moments too, the telephone booth scene being just one amongst many. I won't put any more details here as to not ruin it but absolutely recommend this movie without hesitation.
The lead actress Marie-Christine Guennec who I have not seen before puts in a solid performance, I'll be sure to look out for her in the future but with me not speaking French and a small number of movie credits I'm bracing myself for disappointment.

Jonny Jay, just so you know, ALL of the Claude Mulot films out from Alpha France are cut.
The exceptions are PUSSY TALK and FEMALE OBJECT.

Thanks john.
I really wish Alpha would have released these movies uncut, it's very frustrating to know they made cuts for what appears to be nothing other than to fit three movies onto one disc. Maybe they will release them fully restored and uncut at some point reaping more rewards.
Take Shocking! for instance. As far as I know they cut this by roughly 15 minutes, completely removing one scene and also removing a dream sequence from another, as per usual they trimmed the credits. I'm aware of a possible US version from Essex Video but I can't find it, I don't known if it's available or not and I don't speak French or German to watch the uncut version. Only option available to me that I'm aware of is the Alpha France restored dubbed version, then find as much information as possible regarding the cuts, then decide whether it's worth watching or not. As good as the experience is when watching these movies it's also frustrating to know it could have been better if the movie was fully intact even if some of the cuts are minor or not always noticeable.

Never Sleep Alone - Another Kemal production that I mainly checked out because it has Anna Ventura in it and I've had a thing for her since seeing her in Bad Girls.
As always with Kemal, very nicely shot and a nice if not totally successful attempt at a storyline and characterization, this time about the jealousy of a supposedly open relationship. Undercut by a voiceover beginning and ending but it benefits from a very sexy cast and many of the sex scenes are quite good, particularly those between Leslie and Joanna Storm and Tina Marie, plus the aforementioned threesome with Anna, Joey Silvera and the unfamiliar-to-me 'Lenora Bruce.' Honey Wilder is a sexier older woman with some nice scenes and Tigr and Sharon Kane pop up in a dated but fairly sexy girl scouts scene with Wilder and Leslie. There's also a good female dom/male sub scene with Tina Marie, Sharon Mitchell and George Payne and Alan Adrian that seems cut too short.

Sorry waffled on a bit, and more history than discussing the dvds
Unfortunately I doubt that will happen, once released with any kind of movie that does seem to be pretty much it. Why it is imperative, again with any kind of movie, they get it right first time. Speaking of three movies the other two with Jouissances Perverses are fantastic aswell. Dodo Petites Filles Au Bordel the amazing Marilyn Jess group scene, though the rest of the movie including the cover girl is not as hot as Marilyn.. well is that possible? Plus also being a huge fan of voyeur, and not averse to watching a bit of spanking, Couples voyeurs & fesseurs is great too.
Being put onto Jess Franco & Lina Romay another voyeuristic one worth perhaps checking out is El mirón y la exhibicionista, not alot of plot and Lina is almost unrecognisable, and for sure many of the views can be almost gynecological, but.. what does work is the full natural bodied lesbian scenes (note breast play) with her knowing and playing to the fact she is being watched
What surprised me most with Alpha France is the superb picture quality, looks more early 90s than late 70s. Wonder why it is so completely different from the 70s sleaze, admittedly what sometimes makes it great, on the other side of the Atlantic?

^Probably right on the re-releases, a shame. I'm guessing the difference in attitudes as to what was being produced may have something to do with the French authorities almost taxing the industry out of existence from the outset, discouraging those who wanted to produce such movies. Again I'm guessing producers didn't want to push it too much for fear of reprisals or harming their mainstream careers, Gérard Kikoïne the notable absentee here on both counts.
I Liked all of the movies you've mentioned there, I haven't seen mirón y la exhibicionista though, I like plots/storyline but will definitely give it a go. If I can get through 40 minutes out of the first 50 of what seemed non stop sex in the Second Coming of Eva I should be OK. :) Read a few reviews on this movie and it sounds very similar to Chuck Vincents 80s movie Voyeur (worth watching if you haven't seen it) but I'm sure on viewing it will have little resemblance.
Speaking of spanking, I'm pretty sure you've seen La Fessee (1976)? I stumbled across this because it has Catherine Ringer in it who I wanted to see more of after her performance in Body Love. The other movies on the disc were putting me off but went for it anyway, ended up being one of my favourites and it had Emmanuelle Pareze in it too, major bonus. :)
Ooops! Forgot to take the italics off

^ Good point about the attitudes and what makes Alpha France so great is they are like real movies, also probably why they look so good not grindhouse porn theater quality of some of the American gear.
I haven't seen Chuck Vincent's 80s Voyeur, but have John Leslie's The Voyeur #1 and is one of my favourites for the public bar gangbang and the brilliant Draghixa anal & massive facial scene with some great shots from a voyeuristic perspective.
Same goes for La Fessee too I'm afraid. I am pretty green to these dvds and just picked ones with scenes I recognised eg. the iconic Brigitte Lahaie scene being a massive sunglasses (and perfect breasts) fan. Also always been a fan of Marilyn Jess from I can't remember what or when but she reminds me a bit of softcore English model Jo Guest too, and reading about a video where she is a robot who will obey your commands via remote control.. that was a no-brainer :D
Talking Marilyn and Jo reminded me of another fav, Dirty Stories #4, starring Anita Blond who is pretty close to a cross between the two in a rare anal scene, plus the Monique Covet doggy air tight foursome is something to behold!

The reason Alpha France's stuff looks so good is because it's taken from film sources, from the looks of it probably film negatives. Their prints of American xxx like Femmes de Sade and Waterpower look equally awesome.
The majority of the American xxx is released off of poor tape masters which is why you may think it's not as well shot (although a fair bit of it is poorly shot as well) but if you look at the reissues of the Metzger films and Deep Inside Annie Sprinkle, Blonde Ambition, etc by Dixtripix you'll see that the best American films are as well shot as the European films, and in my opinion often have better storylines and more attractive and charismatic male performers.

^Agree.
You won't find a John Leslie that's for sure and the storylines can be a little basic in comparison to American xxx, there are some good ones though, L'Infirmiere (Private Nurse) is one definitely worth watching. Personally it's the French middle class undertones the one constant present in all of the movies I've seen that appeals and can often lead to some fun, odd and quirky moments.
They're so different compared to the American type but they do provide a nice change of pace from time to time, I won't be giving up on my US classics any time soon though.
When I get some time to myself I'll get around to watching The Tale of Tiffany Lust, a Gérard Kikoïne production with a Radley Metzger script, now this should be interesting.

^^ Tales of Tiffany Lust was quite watchable if also flawed -- but it did have some really wonderful moments. I might have posted something about it earlier on this thread, as I saw the movie not all that long ago. Can't remember if I actually wrote it up though. At any rate, its strengths outweighed the shortcomings; I found it well worth seeing. I also saw La Fessee not too long ago and was amused. A rather silly film but very entertaining in its goofiness and with some pleasant sex scenes to boot.
I haven't watched many films the last few months and have been too lazy to write up the few I have watched. Maybe writing this pointless note will motivate me to post some comments soon. (Oh gioia; I bet y'all can't wait! )

@BlackSix Thanks for the info and I agree, I didn't mean they were poorly shot but like you said look that way perhaps because of the media ie my grindhouse theater comment. But also that is what often gives them their sleazy look which I really like too.
When saying Alpha France is more like a real movie it predominantly was the picture quality but also as Jonny & alpha suggested are often more goofy and almost have a romcom feel about them of sophisticated middle class french girls, which in a way I find in perhaps a better way of putting it is less like a porn film than a strongly plotted US title. Also must say though I enjoy Features it is not so much for the story itself, but the situation and places the story puts the sex scenes in.
@Jonny I think you will really enjoy Tiffany Lust, it has my holy trinity; voyeur, dream and kinky sequences I was a huge Desiree Cousteau fan and her scene in this cemented her in my A-list for life!

Watched the new Spartacus movie that Marcus London/ Tommy Gunn/ Tony De Sergio put together. A really well done feature which I gather is based on the tv show which I've never seen and I guess other elements of the Spartacus legend. Watching the cast interviews now which go for about an hour plus there is an hour long Making of feature too. The term Epic definitely fits this piece which everyone involved treated as a labor of love and it shows in the finished product. The sex scenes aren't as long perhaps but for a feature film they were still good. A fine cast of women in this too with Devon Lee, Jenna Presley, Gracie Glam, Tanya Tate and Andy San Dimas as some names you'll know. A few other girls have smaller roles in this production which is well worth checking out I think if you like feature entertainment, are a fan of the Gladiator/ 300/ Spartacus style movies then this is big winner.

Notes on a few films:
Les Soirees d'un couple voyeur
I watched this, as so many films, for the wonderful Brigitte Lahaie. While she appears prominently (albeit in an unattractive black wig), this movie really is Morgane's, who sizzles. The movie is in French, which I do not speak, and is fairly heavy on dialogue, so I was able to get only the gist of the story; much of interest I am sure was missed. As best I could follow: Morgane and Alban Ceray are a couple who like to watch sex. In the first scene, they are making love in front of a mirror, winding up with her in doggy, facing the mirror, kissing her image as they fuck. They then progress through natural stages: first, one peeking as the other has sex with someone else (starting with Morgane and a young man with serious shortage of wood) and eventually to having one of them secretly filming the other have sex so that they can enjoy it later together. (One nice scene has Morgane and Ceray screwing as they watch the film of one of her escapades.)
As noted, much was lost in the French, but still this was enjoyable. Much of the sex was very nice (and not always cookie-cutter). One oddity: there are several obviously faked (and highly unrealistic) pop shots that rather mar the realism of the sex. Also, one fellow who appeared in several sex scenes had major wood problems -- I don't know if he ever managed an erection-- which I always find to be something of a scene killer. Quibbles only -- well worth a look.
Purely Physical
Less a plot than a succession of short stories. The connecting thread is Laura Lazare, playing a young woman studying journalism. She takes a job as a motel night clerk so she can observe humanity and work on her writing. The stories consist of adventures of the various customers who use the motel for their romantic trysts. At the end, Laura shucks her midwestern conservative values to have a fling herself.
There are some very well done scenes, not standard issue formulas, with a nicely erotic feel, although some are marred by annoying camera work (too much time showing little but faces, or shots of an irritatingly fragmentary nature -- one scene, for example, kept cutting off the woman's head in an otherwise lovely image; the cameraman could have stepped back a foot and given a beautiful framing). There are also some duds, especially one with the usually wonderful Tigr, paired with Michael Morrison (at his chubbiest), which fails in so many ways. Generally, though, I found it quite a pleasing little film with some worthy ladies of the era: Ms Lazare, Juliet Anderson, Tigr, Nicole Black, etc.
Two scenes were especially nice. In one, Jade Wong and Albert Johnson are two teens in love (aren't teens always?) who rent a room for the night. It is their first time together, probably their first time with anyone. Nicely capturing the awkward passion of youth, the scene is surprisingly sweet -- really quite charming.
In another, Juliet Anderson strikes out when she makes a g/g pass at the night clerk, so goes it alone. She begins standing in front of the mirror in her nightgown, caressing herself, then moves to the bed and strokes between her legs, pulls her nipples. Holding a mirror to her pussy, she watches as she fingers herself. There is no rush to climax: she takes her time, teases herself, slowly building to her finish. Definitely not a typical masturbation scene, it keeps a high level of eroticism.
Blonde Heat
John Leslie is a detective hired by a mysterious lady (Seka) to find an ancient, magical sex toy, the maltese Dildo. With much investment in hinting at a plot, the story never really goes anywhere, and neither does the movie. Sex is so-so, often extraneous, and frequently shot in a frustrating way. Some very lovely ladies, though Seka isn't one of them this time out, as she looks lousy here and her one scene sucks.

Some more brief notes:
Women in Love
This 1980 film from Kemal Horulu sells itself as a modern version of Madame Bovary. It somewhat succeeds in capturing the spirit of the novel (as well as I remember, 40 years after reading it), but chickens out at the last moment to avoid a tragic ending. The lead was played by Laurien Domenique, who (in spite of not-always-convincing acting) had me hooked from the beginning -- she is so incredibly sexy here in a desperately vulnerable way. I have always appreciated her, but she was truly special here. The rest of the cast was also very good: Vanessa Del Rio, Veronica Hart, Paul Thomas, Ron Jeremy (in pre-Hedgehog days), R. Bolla as Laurien's boring husband, etc, all were excellent in their roles.
The movie looks good (pace overuse of a few establishing shots), the script works, the sex is very good. I highly recommend this to fans of the era.
Corpi D'amore
Weak French (? -- but in Italian; dubbed?) film. Apparently very little story (though hard to tell for sure without understanding dialogue) and weak sex. Brigitte Lahaie is in it, always a plus, but looking less enchanting than normal in an ugly wig. Claude Janna manages some high class call girls; what we get is just their sexual escapades, which aren't very tittillating. Skip it.
Crazed
Serenity as a stressed wife, having sexual problems with hubby, sleeping badly. Best friend gives her a small stone idol, a supposed sleep god. The god enters and takes over her dreams and, as time goes on, usurps her life from within her sleep. Reasonably decent tale. Poor dialogue. Two good sex scenes, the rest range from mediocre to weak. Disappointing, given my initial expectations, but still watchable.
Maison de plaisir
Another French film from the 70s, so as usual my understanding is limited by my lack of French. Eva (Jane Baker --va-va-voom!) owns a male brothel. Her car hits a young woman, Laure (Sandrine Pernelle, very sexy young thing), on the street, so she brings her back to the brothel. As we find out later, Laure had caught her mother seducing her boyfriend and ran off. The movie unfolds with Laure staying at the brothel, Mom (Elisabeth Bure) hiring a detective to find Laure (he goes undercover as a stud at the brothel), and lots of scenes of female clients getting serviced by the brothel's men. Eventually Mom and daughter are amicably reunited. Not anything extraordinary, though I undoubtedly lost a lot of the sauce in the French, but the sex was generally very nice. Enjoyable.
Roller Babies
This goofy campfest from the mid 70s is filled with lame jokes and failures of logic, but its unabashed silliness makes it entertaining in a guilty-pleasure sort of way. In a future society, overpopulation has forced the illegalization of sex, and people are on government-mandated drugs to stifle sexuality (since birth control pills apparently aren't conceivable, if you'll pardon the pun). In order to provide a sexual outlet by encouraging masturbation, pornography is promoted -- indeed, supported -- by the government. Alan Marlowe heads a TV show called The Fuck and Suck Show, but falling ratings (and network nepotism) are forcing him out of the station. He eventually hits on an idea for a new show to win back favor: contests with people having sex on roller skates. Yes, awkward and silly, but we do get the unusual (if not very sexy) scene for the last 10 minutes or so of rolling sex -- just when I thought I would never see anything new in porn.
Oh, other not-seen-every-day moments include a blowjob by telepathy, complete with pop shot (really!) and, for lovers of messiness, Terri Hall smearing great gobs of pistaccio yoghurt all over a guy's junk before blowing him. Eww.

^So glad you posted about Woman In Love as I was sure I'd seen this, turns out I had mistaken the movie for American Desire whilst attempting to piece together the movies I'd seen after losing a file. Just out of interest wasn't there a song with the chorus ' A woman in love' in a few movies? Rings a bell.
Last movie I watched was:
Alexandra 1983
Strong cast, strong plot, a very well made movie. There's a great performance in this from Lauren Wilde playing the gold digger wife with attitude. She's one of three wives who are being blackmailed by Alexandra who is threatening to tell of their extra material affairs, her past in the case of Joanna Storm at the end of year party gathering.
Another movie I would definitely recommend, very much enjoyed this one.

A few more recently viewed features:
Les Nymphomanes
A 1979 French film dubbed in English (does there exist a natural sounding dub anywhere in porn?). A simple and unoriginal plot: Richard Lemieuvre is juggling three mistresses (with the able assistance of his maid, Morgane): Olga Cris, who is married; flight attendant Serena, who races to his bed between flights; and France Lomay, also married and dubbed with an awful Texas accent. Eventually, all three mistresses show up unexpectedly at the same time, meeting each other and finding Lemieuvre boffing the maid. Rather than getting angry at his philandering (after all, as it turns out, all three are cheating on husbands), they jump in bed and attack man and maid sexually for a nice group finish to the film.
While the story might be off-the-rack, the movie works on the strength of beautiful women and excellent sex. This is 70s-style sex, so don't expect gymnastics, but it was very satisfying. Indeed, the movie mostly consists of sex, with just enough story to carry us from one sex scene to the next, and every scene works exceedingly well. Very nice.
A Girl's Best Friend
This 1981 Henri Pachard film is an entertaining tale of competing jewel thieves: Juliet Anderson and Ron Jeremy as a mother-son team (they take turns, one seducing a victim as the other burgles) and Veronica Hart as an amazingly clumsy maid who still manages the big score. The story is kept light and the characters oddball. The cast is excellent: besides Ms Hart (my all-time favorite adult film star) and Ms Anderson (always such a strong sexual presence), Ron Jeremy is excellent (and, in his young, slender, and attractive phase, quite appealing), Jody Maxwell has a steamy scene as a whore with Jeremy, Merle Michals looks as adorable as ever, Linda Vale sizzles in a short part as her mother, Bobby Astyr and the ubiquitous R. Bolla play offbeat but wealthy targets, etc. In spite of the wonderful women, most of the sex isn't particularly memorable here, but it fits appropriately into the plot. All in all, fun if not especially hot (well, Ms Hart would arouse me just by washing dishes, so that judgment isn't an absolute).
69 Park Avenue
Awful mid-80s effort. Tom Byron is a young reporter whose first assignment is interviewing brothel madam Colleen Brennan. The story, such as it is, consists of uninventive examples of tales from the brothel. With some nicely appealing ladies of the era -- Ms Brennan, Little Oral Annie, Erica Boyer, Patti Petite -- I had hoped at least for some pleasing titillation, but this is really exceptionally cheap and cheesy looking. One scene is made unwatchable by terrible lighting, another by incredibly dull camera work. Nothing here goes beyond routine at best, except for a nice g/g between Ms Boyer and Ms Petite. (And, as a minor aside, remember the big hair of the mid to late 80s? Do any era's styles transport more poorly to other periods than this?) Skip this turkey.

Die Marquise von Sade aka Doriana Gray 1976 - Jesus Franco.
A brief description (no spoilers) from the IMDb website for this porn/horror.
A lonely aristocrat Miss Gray has a twin sister who's in an asylum. They share a strange bond. Miss Gray is rational but frigid while her sister is insane yet feels sexual pleasure for both of them. A female reporter arrives at the mansion.
I was tempted to pick this up on a few occasions but was reluctant to do so having read a few criticising reviews of Jesus Franco's use of zooming and close up camera work. I actually happened to like it, however, the camera work maybe considered too artsy for some and I do have to say the dramatic walking towards the camera as well as staring down the lens may have been slightly overdone. Nevertheless, this is a solid movie with some great visuals. The sex scenes are a little crude keeping it true to the theme particularly the scenes with Doriana (Lina Romay) who gets absolutely no sexual pleasure from her encounters.
If you don't mind movies where the storyline is a little complex and the action moves along slowly (deliberately so) you may like this, probably worth reading a review or two beforehand.

I thought Caballero did a pretty good job with the English dub of Couple cherche esclave sexuel aka Serviced With A Smile .
Of course with Brigitte Lahaie in the starring role, a poor dub would probably go unnoticed.

^ Okay, I'll go along with that -- Serviced with a Smile doesn't even feel dubbed. And, as my introduction to Brigitte Lahaie, it brings warm memories. But, it is such a rarity as far as dubbing goes. (Sigh.)

Caballero had nothing to do with the dub. The French production company handled it as was customary for Euro films at the time. Very rarely did American distributors do their own dubbing.

Cafe Flesh 2
Before beginning, let me say that I rate the first Cafe Flesh one of the greats, a movie not to be missed by fans of Golden Age features. As a successor, Cafe Flesh 2 is a very good movie that tries to duplicate the atmosphere of the original, but doesn't quite recapture the same edge or gritty intensity, nor does it have as interesting a story. Excellent lighting, camera work, and art direction make for fine visuals, and many performers (especially Jeanna Fine and, in a small non-sex part, Veronica Hart) play convincing characters. The sound, always an issue with me (some high frequency hearing loss means I often lose dialogue in the ambient noise) is crisp, forward; dialogue is clear, music and sound effects don't overwhelm. All is very enjoyable. Still, it's a movie that would have seemed better had it not been a successor to a superior film.
The sex scenes tended to run long enough to lose momentum and not all of them engaged me. The Jeanna Fine scene -- heaven forgive my saying this! -- in foundry setting and fetish gear, was rich in atmosphere but the sex was completely boring; I wound up fast forwarding through it. Some other sex scenes I found only okay at best but would have been much better had they featured women who appealed to me, purely a matter of individual taste. But, don't miss Raylene's sizzling bullfight scene -- she's the matador, he's the bull -- or the scene with Rebecca Lord because ... well, Rebecca Lord.
Pensionnat de jeunes filles
This 1980 film from Gerard Kikoine, in French, details the adventures of Marilyn Jess (drool, drool) on her way to and at a boarding school. I have always adored Ms Jess, and though she is made to look a little too Lolita-ish here, she is as stunningly sexy as ever.
The sex is generally very nice, but somewhat marred by an overuse of close-range shots (not super close up, but very few full body views). In case it's a deal breaker for you, be aware that there are two rape scenes. Also, the students at the school are given a schoolgirl appearance (rather a turn-off for me, but they don't actually look all that young and there is nothing girlish about the marvelous figures).
Langue de velours
Guys fond of blowjobs (and which aren't?) will find this an interesting fantasy trip as it features a woman, played by Marie-Christine Guennec, who can't resist giving them: pretty much every time she meets a guy, she drops to her knees and blows him -- and, she meets a lot of men in the film. Unfortunately, it isn't a very good film, the weak quality magnified by all key plot developments being dropped suddenly into your lap, especially the artificially tragic finish, seemingly thrown in only because it was time to end the movie -- what the hell, let's wrap this up quickly. The leading lady, Ms Guennec, is neither elegant nor classically beautiful (to my taste), but she has a raw sexuality that is very exciting -- she had my full attention at all times. It also included several other attractive ladies, especially Claude Janna, who was very fine here. Dubbed in English.

Finally got around to seeing the old porno western "Sweet Savage". Despite the limited amount of hardcore sex and the dubious treatment of rape in the storyline, I really enjoyed it and it demonstrates what good feature porn should aspire to. Some of the outdoor sex scenes were quite spectacularly filmed with the Arizona desert backdrop.
Interestingly, in the Ann Perry chapter of the recent book "Golden Goddesses" it was said that Anne Perry had filmed a sequel to "Sweet Savage" but for financial reasons never released it. There were apparently steps taken by her associates to release the sequel this year.

Voracious from John Stagliano. Spent the better part of the last two days watching this epic 6 hr plus movie and I don't see how anyone can't watch this and not have a strong reaction one way or the other. Now this is a style of sex I normally don't watch and wouldn't watch really if it wasn't Buttman who I know knows his shit when it comes to this style of sex. The story is told well with some strong sex and mixed in and I mean strong, especially the third episode which featured Brooklyn Lee, Sandra Romain along with David Perry and Ian Scott. I gather there will be a second one, at least I suspect we'll see one not sure if it will come in 2013 but if the buzz from this movie is good and I haven't been paying attention to that then I'm sure we will see it made, I hope they continue the story. Lea Lexus also gets big props from me in this movie along with Brooklyn who really was put through the ringer in a couple of scenes for this the second one featuring her with the legend Rocco Siffredi. I should write a review for this feature though it won't be a long one as there is already an excellent take on this posted on ADT.

^ Can you clarify what you mean by "strong" sex and "put through the ringer"? I was going to watch this but now you have me apprehensive. Also, there is very little information about this in terms of to what extent it is a feature. Is it about vampires? Does it have a plot? etc. I will read the review here also.

I should write something up today I think. Watching the BTS commentary now and that is 1 1/2 so that is almost as long as your average feature. Lea Lexis was powerful in this, very aggressive in her performance and kicked ass in the sex that I watched. Brooklyn also was quite good in this but had to be more vulnerable I think as compared to Lea who was so dominate. Sandra Romain was also very good in this and if you have seen Sandra work in the past you know she can dish it out as good as anyone ever has in XXX films. Was surprised a bit to see Rocco not used as much since he was the head of the clan but his work was also very strong in this giving us one long sex scene which I think came close after that first scene with Brooklyn and Lea. Most of the movie was in Europe too going between Berlin and Budapest, not sure which location was used more, perhaps that will come out as I watch the commentary later today. Think I'll take a break and go see The Hobbit, much lighter fare!

China Girl
This plot-driven 1974 film is less porn with a plot than a regular movie with sex -- exactly what I often wish for: much like a mainstream movie, but the sex is explicit, not hidden or hinted at. It even has a very recognizable mainstream actor (James Hong) as the principal bad guy. So, how well did it work? So-so.
It isn't an original story: a secret dragon society of bad guys is capturing scientists working on a revolutionary secret formula to sell to a foreign power. Government agents are sent to protect the last two scientists involved in the project (one of whom is Annette Haven), but both are kidnapped anyway. The agent guarding Annette must try to rescue her. Most of the first half of the movie advances the story, most of the second half brings in the sex, which is extremely tame. The one exciting scene involves an attempt to make Ms Haven talk by "torturing" her with pleasure; four women descend on her to kiss her, caress her, feast on her delectable pussy -- all quite hot. When they fail to break her, the second team -- three guys -- is set upon her. This scene isn't as hot, though it isn't bad -- after all, it's Annette Haven! But, it runs on too long, causing the movie pretty much to grind to a halt as the failed attempt at forcing her to talk plays out. The denouement then runs through quickly to bring the movie to its conclusion.
Routine as the story is, I enjoyed the film, appreciating the mix of sex and plot, and especially Ms Haven, who as always is incomparably beautiful. If you watch this just for porn, you'll be disappointed. If you are expecting a first-rate spy flick, you'll be disappointed. But, if you are up for a balance of story and sex, you might like it as much as I did.
Operation: Tropical Stormy
Stormy Daniels's follow up to Operation:Desert Stormy is another funny and entertaining romp, filled with incompetent secret agents and silly supporting characters. Once again, Stormy Daniels shows she has a great comedic gift, but is well abetted by the rest of the cast in an excellent ensemble effort. I enjoyed this very much as a well acted madcap feature, but the heart of the fun is the wonderful Ms Daniels.
On the porn side, the sex scenes tended to be completely extraneous to the plot, and many were simply uninteresting. The last sex scene in particlar, a g/g/g toyfest, was a completely pointless intrusion that brought the movie to a standstill in its climactic stage, not to mention being dimly lit and utterly boring. For the plus side of the sex episodes, most of them were beautifully filmed and edited -- a lot of really fine work. But, I often found myself skipping through big chunks of the sex to get on with the story, and with Stormy's delightfully funny character. And on the subjects of Stormy and of sex, she is an outstanding performer who really lights up her scenes. I like this woman so much in so many ways (sex and non-sex), it is odd that I don't find her physically exceptionally appealing. Ah well, such are the vagaries of taste; it's my failing. At any rate, the movie's two really standout sex scenes both featured Stormy, one with Evan Stone as her hopeless husband George, the other with Marcus London and Tony De Sergio as allied agents from the British side, offering her comfort when she thought her husband had been eaten by cannibals. Plus, our two British agents had a very hot opening scene with Annabell Lee and Nikki Rhodes.
Oh, and don't miss the best visual of the movie, in Stormy's scene with Evan Stone: he goes down on her as she is draped, beautifully naked, on rails at the bow of the boat, the ocean extending forever behind her. This wonderful shot is all too short, prompting me to do something I almost never do: look at one of the extras. Specifically, I went to the extended sex scenes on the second extras disc just to see this marvelous image extended.
And really, how can one not like a movie with moments such as a Kim Jong Il character doing his impression of Madonna (this guy was a hoot throughout). Or, Gianna Lynn, in obvious disgust at Tommy Gunn, viciously kicking him to precipitate a rousing fight scene; in mid fight, she suddenly complains "You said you'd call!" He replies, "You said you'd take anger management." Loads of funny stuff. (Okay, one more: our evil Kim later is in bed reading a book, Dictatorship For Beginners, by Idi Amin. Such little tossed off silly jokes sprinkled through the movie help set the tone.)
This movie was released in 2009 and ended on a To-be-continued cliffhanger. I think it's time for a petition to get a sequel going. Ms Daniels?
Couples pour partouzes
Jacques Marbeuf, an unappealing putz in awful, helmet-head wig, runs what appears to be a dating service, but the only "dates" the clients get are fucking the employees. French film dubbed in German, the sex is so-so. Marilyn Jess and Morgane appear, but scarcely save this from mediocrity at its best moments (and can't begin to offset really unappealing guys).

Charli 1981
A brief description from the IMDb website for the movie.
Jesie St. James and Eric Edwards play a married couple whose marriage is on the rocks. They keep the fires burning within as they fantasize about making love to those around them.
Having not watched a classic feature for a while I decided to ease myself back into the genre with this light hearted easily watchable movie. A love story with a mainstream movie feel to it. Annette Haven and Billy Dee compliment the already strong performances, it's well produced too resulting in a pretty good movie and certainly worth watching if you haven't.

A few I've recently done restorations of...
Anthony Spinelli's TOUCH ME (1971)
Although Anthony Spinelli's later work consisted primarily of character driven melodramas, he began his directorial career by capitalizing on one of the most popular trends in the early days of theatrical hardcore: the 'encounter' or 'therapist' film. Similar to the more perfunctory 'white coaters' and staged documentaries of the era, the 'encounter group' film was often employed as a means of assuring redeeming social value in a production while still allowing some room for narrative and character development.
Spinelli made at least three such efforts beginning with JOURNAL OF LOVE, continuing with TOUCH ME and finally (the currently lost) STRANGERS. While the two surviving entries in this unofficial trilogy have overlapping casts and themes, each presents a distinct take on the 'doctor dolling out advice to patients' theme, with TOUCH ME standing out as the more powerful effort of the two.
Taking place over a couple days, the film follows a group of people who arrive at a therapist's mansion for an extended encounter group session to address and resolve their sexual hangups. Structured almost like a documentary, and with minimal musical accompaniment, we observe the various goings on at the sessions. From the initial meet and great, to the group having dinner, to a couple sexual liaisons between the patients and finally the big get together where problems are acknowledged, diagnosed, acted out and recommended treatments given.
While the above might seem a bit dry, it's Spinelli's incredible talent as an actors' director which renders compelling, honest and, most importantly, believable performances from his cast. Said cast includes Rene Bond, Ric Lutz, Sandy Dempsey, Andy Bellamy and 'mainstream' exploitation actors Richard Smedly and George 'Buck' Flower. Everyone is outstanding and exceedingly well cast in roles which highlight their distinct performing styles. It's no surprise that Dempsey (arguably the finest actress working in L.A. hardcore during the early 70's) practically steals the show. She's riveting in a role which requires her to simulate a rape fantasy for the neurotic and insecure Lutz. It's a very uncomfortable scene made all the more effective by Dempsey's impressive acting.
As always, Spinelli's keen eye for staging and camera movement proves another key element of the film's success. While much of the running time is composed of lengthy dialogue exchanges, Spinelli's camera, as DPed by Dale Smallin, allows the viewer to feel fully integrated within the group rather than a distanced observer. Editing by Michael Kahn keeps the pace brisk yet allows the lengthy final confrontation scene to breathe and flow naturally.
TOUCH ME is the type of early X film that probably got relegated to the bottom halves of double bills nearly as soon as it came out. It was too edgy to catch on. Too provocative for the middle aged rain-coat crowd but not avant-garde enough to capture the attention of the art scene. So it all but disappeared. Regardless, it's a worthy early entry in the career of one of the most talented and unique filmmaking minds ever to grace the X rated screen.
Robert Kaplan's GUMS (1976)
I've had this argument with a few people: what was the best year for theatrical X rated films? And while a compelling case could be made for pretty much any year between 1970 and 1984 or so, I often cite 1976 for both the sheer magnitude of masterpieces (and failed attempts at 'masterpieces') that were either produced or released in 1976. And while 1976 saw the release of 1975 productions like 3 A.M., THE OPENING OF MISTY BEETHOVEN, THE TAKING OF CHRISTINA, etc. and the creation of such mighty works as THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS, Robert Kaplan's almost uncategorizable film GUMS, has sadly fallen into near obscurity due to lack of availability and, more significantly, the fact that even in the 35+ years since its release, there still hasn't been a single other film quite like it.
Structured and marketed as a parody of JAWS (and it is), the film manages to include puppetry, a musical number, bizarre homoeroticism, Nazis, a parody of a donkey show, and some rather unpleasant instances of racist gags. But that barely scratches the surface.
The plot goes kinda like this: a cocksucking mermaid (sans fish tail) is biting off the members of unfortunate swimmers in the beach community of Great Head, Long Island. Sheriff Cockswing wants beaches cleared but racist Mayor Ike White (who has a black dick) doesn't want to hurt tourist season, until he too is 'eaten' by the mermaid. So, with the help of Dr. Sy Smegma and Nazi Carl Clitoris, the Sheriff decides to take down the beast.
Casting is weird, but brilliant: Teri Hall plays the mermaid while R. Bolla is Smegma. Ras Keen turns up in a marvelous supporting role as the flamboyant, cock obsessed Deputy Dick (a non sex role solidifying him as one of the era's more underrated actors), but most impressively is the screen stealing performance from Brother Theodore as Clitoris. Theodore eats up his role, playing it to full hilt and crafts one of the most impressive slapstick characters in the whole of X cinema, as well as perhaps the most memorable role of his screen career. His manic, lamenting, Nazi lunatic is so compelling, it's a shame he was never given the chance to reprise the role in another film or televised performance.
But everyone in the film is phenomenal. This is comedic casting perfection.
The co-written screenplay, with Kaplan, Sam Cohen and Paul Cohen all lending hands, looses its footing here and there, but succeeds overall because it's so bizarre is silly that the viewer simply accepts the lunacy they're witnessing without question.
GUMS was conceived as a 'crossover' film from the start and actually had a brief successful run as a midnight movie, but the film's distinct attempt to turn every on screen sexual act into a punchline (or grossout bit) caused it to crash and burn at the hardcore boxoffice. In some ways, the film might have been too ambitious and rebellious, but the fact that it was made the same year as the even more ambitious and rebellious THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS would seem to imply that it was right around this time when X rated filmmakers felt most free to explore the furthest boundaries of the genre; or perhaps felt that the genre was boundless. It's just a shame that audiences didn't feel the same way.

So if you've done a restoration of this does that mean it is finally getting a release? And if so is it going to be fully intact?
Also, do you have any idea what happened to the new release that Distribpix was doing of Through the Looking Glass?
