No issues there! But the consumer also goes through the time, effort, and expense to rent or purchase the product in the form of travel time, rental fees, and time spent in the video store. Don't forget the cramp that comes from their head turned sideways to read the box covers and pull them out to look at the pictures to find something we might like. So after all of that, you get shafted by the company's marketing effort. Can you complain to the store? Sure, but it won't do you any good? So after the 2 examples provided, can you blame the consumer for going onto a youtube type site for porn and downloading for free? Mike, none of this was directly pointed at your company, but companies in general. But this question is, Suppose I purchased or rented a product from your company and was completely unsatisfied with the overall product. I then sent you a letter of complaint detailing my unhappiness,(rather than a letter saying your product sucks, give me my money back!) How would you handle that letter of complaint? Now the next question is: How come porn companies don't go on tour in some way shape or form? Put together a Pornapaloosa type event. MMMMMM, let's see, isn't there one in Vegas right now? Anyway, instead of giving away DVD samplers, put together an "Event DVD" that is available for sale only at the show. Just off the top of my head, do a Bree Olson/Faye Reagan Super Slut Competition extravaganza type of DVD and hype the hell out of it before the show, indicating that it's only available at the show. Each side of the case would feature one of the girls. Have them both at your booth signing the thing for sale at $20.00.
