"Consumer demand" my butthole! This is why we get nowhere on race talk in the US because people want to continue to tell themselves that racism is not the underlying is issue but __ (some other reductionist issue).

^So the consumer demand for IR is racist? If your answer is yes, please explain why consumer demand for IR is racist. If your answer is no, please explain why it is racist for producers to build business strategies and agents/talents to build career strategies in response to that non-racist demand.

Why twist my words??
I said it was racist to treat IR porn and bm the way that the industry does. No one but the producers are begging to wait 8 months to two, three maybe even four fucking years to see non-black chicks take black pipe. The producers are making it racial by doing this.
That's NOT "consumer demand".

Yeah, there are plenty of performers who'll say the dicks are just too big to take and that's why black talent are considered in the same category as acts like anal and DP. Trisha Parks suggested that girls charge more because of size, until Katrina Jade and Nigel pointed out that there are non-black guys just as big and bigger than some black guys. Callie Klein pointed out a performer told her that she, the performer, considered working with black men a health liability due to size. Ember Snow said she was not physically capable of working with black men. And so on.
The I don't do black talent due to their monster size thing would make more sense if every black talent was the size of Julio and Dredd, but that's not the case. Also some of the same performers who bring up size will work with giants like Danny D Chris Strokes Markus Dupree etc.
It's the same with the I don't do black talent due to the way scenes with blacks are shot, when there is plenty of upscale production.

People engage in sexist acts without even knowing that it's racism at times
Why black females don't count?
is this extremely sexist?
They matter not

Whenever a source is absent, I am skeptical. I mean, even with a source (typically that ubiquitous fellow known as "unnamed"), I am still skeptical. And even when the source is named, the claim usually sounds like an allegation based on the source's inference, rather than an explicit statement made by the supposed bigot.
But here it is, and forgive me if it's just a recycled story:

Yeah, Uma Jolie was responding to Ronnie Hendrixxx. I guess he released the DMs to India:

And she made it very clear back in 2016 that she was not going to shoot with black men:

Allegedly, there were also posts made by Uma Jolie saying ewww no and calling black men gross and disgusting before she deleted them, but I did not see those.

^^I think "idk who you are" provides context. She doesn't know if the guy's legit and seems to doubt that he is. I think she's implying that he doesn't have money to pay her for a shoot and that he's not serious. We can also take what she says at face value. In that case I still wouldn't assume that she is a racist. We don't know why she doesn't do IR or why she would only do IR for 50k (if we're taking her literally). Personal racism is only one of several possible explanations.

Which pornstars have also said about anal. So maybe she meant what she said, maybe not. Maybe she meant what she said at the time and will later change her mind. In any case, we don't know what her reasons are for making that statement. There are a number of possible explanations, and personal racism is only one of them.
If those posts were real then she might have taken a page from Adriana Chechik's playbook, or maybe she actually is a racist.

In some cases I view racism as the most reasonable explanation. For example, earlier we all discussed a performer who I believe unintentionally outed herself as a racist. I'm not at that point yet with Uma Jolie, but whether she herself is a racist or not, I don't doubt that there are racist porn performers working right now, including some who shoot IR.

Most definitely but we can't see in a person's heart only their actions. We all know about the business, exclusive contracts, and the role of agents but at the end of the day there are girls who have been in the business awhile that aren't waiting for the right time or building their brand. As for Uma tho, her response is pretty blunt and straight forward to me.

I know some people have been talking about Morriah Mills not doing any scenes yet but she obviously wanted to enter porn mainstream and not through someone like Pinky as other urban IG models have done for a quick cash grab.

^Welcome to ADT
I agree that there are performers who mean what they say when they insist that they'll never shoot IR, but it most cases I'd say it's anybody's guess who those pornstars are. I'd be legitimately surprised if Bella Rose, for example, were to shoot IR, but I can't the same about Uma and some of the other performers who've been discussed.

If it talks like a racist, thinks like a racist, and portrays itself like a racist....it must be a....?
The full convo, she was cool until she found out dude was black, then she said 50K or gtfo. I see Uma went to the Rachel Starr school of ridiculous hyperbolic rates so no one would bother her about shooting interracial while still claiming she "is trying but companies wont book her"
Again I say, what other profession allows open discrimination like this? Maybe the NFL because of the blind support for the daycare in D.C.
Look at the mentions in the conversation, Prince, MimeFreak, Rob Piper and other share sentiments about still being blatantly discriminated against because of their skin color. Black females state how they cant get work because they are too light-skinned for interracial scenes now? Yet a mixed girl like Cassidy Banks can be black one week, and then decide to be white when she wants to jack up her rates when approached about shooting with a black guy
but keep placating to the LCD - lowest common demographic
I just want to take this time to shout out Mike Quasar and any other white director that doesnt support the IR-rate spike and, at least for him, still shoots black girls as much as he can, even with black guys

Choosing not to work.with black talent and/or only working with black talent for a huge amount of money is one thing, but if Lena Paul is telling the truth about whst Uma Jolie said, going on and on about how disgusting women who work with black talent are is another thing completely. Pretty cut and dry.

Uma Jolie does sound like a disgusting racist along with Bella Rose. This industry is tolerating this crap. I live in Louisiana where we almost had a race war because some white guy out shooting blacks. Police had to finally step in because blacks were arming up to get it done. If she is out dropping racial slurs and all that. That could easily be solved by a fist to the jaw. But will the porn industry continue to allow this racism?Or send these girls packing?

^There is no incentive to send either performer packing. Producers and agents want to make money, so it's extremely rare for the industry to blacklist a performer who's making them money. Hell, perhaps Bella Rose has become even more profitable than she was previously now that she's attracted the Stormfront contingent.
For what it's worth, I do think it would be nice if producers of IR, like Greg Lansky, decided to no longer work with performers who they believe to be racist.

Lana Rhoades is almost blacklisted for beating on Adrian Chechnik. And she is the performer in highest demand. So it can be done and its not like porn viewers won't watch the next chick that joins the industry.

To be fair, Lana got dropped by her agency for that fight. And the primary reason they dropped her is that even with as much money as she makes them, Adriana makes them just as much, if not more, and is more likely to stick around for a while longer. Lana is arguably almost blacklisted because of the accusations of being an unstable drug addict. If those rumors hadn't come out, she'd have popped up with another agency in a few months once this died down (just like what happened when she left Speigler). We'll see where things are in a few months (though, to be fair, if the previous rumors are to be believed, if there's one agency that can actually blacklist a performer, it's LA Direct).

^^I wrote that it's extremely rare, not that it can't be done. Of course it can, but will it be done? Literally unlikely, because it's extremely rare. I also think it may be unprecedented for a performer to be blacklisted for personal racism. Has it happened before that we know of?

That's because her Agent was about to lose a few of his performers some of which in demand as high as Lana is , plus a long term customer who hires his girl

My thoughts on the topic are this. If a girl charges more to do a scene with a black guy than a white guy (all other things being equal) then that is racism pure and simple. It doesn't necessarily mean the girl is a racist and hates black people but it is an act of discriminating against someone based upon the colour of their skin. It's no different than say, if I was a hotel owner and charged more for a black person to stay there than a white person. It would not be remotely accepted and I don't see how it is accepted in porn.
Like I said it doesn't necessarily mean the girl is actually a racist who hates black people. She may have relationships with black men in her personal life and this is purely a financial thing, just maximising her earnings. The simple fact is though that you are treating someone differently because of their race and that is racial discrimination.

Women are paid more than men as they are the stars of the movie. It's their face on the box cover and them who most porn fans are paying to see. No discrimination involved there.

Gender is not the issue, the star of the scene gets paid more than the supporting cast, that's just the way show business works whether they are male or female. They are the ones who generate the dvd/download sales so they get the big bucks. Just so happens that, in straight porn, it is the female performers that drive the sales and they are therefore paid more to reflect that.
It is mainly men that buy porn and, no matter how good a particular male performer may be, most of us will not buy a movie/scene unless we like the girls in it.

The point is that if you're going to make that argument in regards to gender, then if we know that interracial porn sells better than non-interracial porn, then asking for more money to shoot interracial isn't racist, because it's about fan demand as opposed to societal/social issues.

^If it was as simple as interracial porn sells better than non-interracial porn, studios would produce more IR than non IR. The IR produced sells well because there is a lot less porn with black men than there is porn without black men. Should Jennifer Lawrence ask for more money to work with black people because Girl Trip and Get Out performed better than the average mid budget movie?

^In light of the topic of this thread and most of the posts on this thread (including the first one), I assumed that he was talking about IR firsts.
I don't know how many agents can argue that a talent's IRs in general, not just firsts and showcases, can reasonably be expected to be uniquely profitable. That said, in cases in which agents make that argument and producers agree to pay talents more, we can assume that those producers aren't just giving away the money with no expectation of an above average profit.

If IR were not a specific category, then the approach of agents/performers and producers would make no sense. It seems that in the European industry IR as a category only exists for the sake of American consumers, not European ones. That's why there's apparently an assumption among directors there that performers shoot with black men. Misha Cross has complained about that in the past. Additionally, I doubt that European performers are typically paid more for first IRs, since as far as I know those scenes generally aren't promoted as such (which may be why Misha Cross doesn't want to shoot her first IR in Europe). I'm pointing all of this out to show what the US industry isn't. Things work here differently for a reason.
It is inconsistent to claim that economic factors make b/g pay inequality moot but don't justify IR pay. Agents are going to use consumer demand to make more money, and producers are going to cooperate because they themselves are making more money. Sales drive this. Consumers discriminate between products, between genres and subgenres. Of course agents and producers are going to react to that, be it in pay for b/gs, pay for IR specifically, or pay for other sex acts.

>>we can assume that those producers aren't just giving away the money with no expectation of an above average profit.<<
But are they expecting above average profit because interracial is more in demand than non interracial, or are they expecting above average profit because higher rates to perform with black men has turned interracial into a novelty act?

Chicken, meet egg.
In all seriousness, there's two ways this could have originated. As far as we know, first IR wasn't really a thing back in the 70s/80s when porn was becoming a full fledged industry instead of something happening underground (there's a good amount of the most popular/famous movies of that era that featured interracial scenes with some of the eras biggest stars). I might be able to pull off the argument that you didn't really see the idea of many of the stars of the industry not doing IR until sometime after the beginning of the contract era (which would have started in the late 80s, I believe). First interracial as a marketing term is basically a construct created by producers. The question is whether producers created it because they noticed fan demand that was already there (so it's because of fan interest), or because they were trying to create a demand where they thought they could (so it's because of scarcity).

^^I wouldn't call IR a novelty act, especially not now in the Blacked era IR renaissance.
There's a real demand out there for IR, especially firsts. Beyond firsts, it's not hard to believe that there are cases in which a particular pornstar's IRs tend to be more profitable than her other b/gs. I'll take me as an example. I don't care about Nicole Aniston's work at all unless she's shooting with black men. I have no idea how many others think similarly, but it does seem possible to me that some pornstars attract a large enough IR following to justify higher pay for even typical IR scenes.

I tend to think that the popularity of IR porn started out just like popularity of most genres/niches/kinks in porn. In the early beginnings of porn I imagine just seeing people having sex on film was enough for some. As time went by and as more porn was made more types of sex acts and performer types were included it probably became clear that some of those things went over better than others. As the makers of porn saw what people responded to they started catering more to that. Usually a fetish/kink will exist and someone will take it and put a particular spin on it and it becomes popular/mainstream. For example there's probably always been older women having sex with younger guys but it was usually with older women who didn't usually look hot and looked like actual middle aged mothers. Someone took that concept and did it with younger "older" women who still looked good and called MILF (a popular term) and suddenly older women/younger male porn took off. Anal porn in the old days was mostly referred to as "backdoor" porn and wasn't usually done by most of the top caliber girls or studios and it was probably seen as ore of a circus act type thing. Someone figured out how to showcase anal sex and make it looks sexy and anal became a popular genre in porn. The same sort of thing is true of Big Butt, Big Boobs, and most other porn niches. I don't think someone can plan out what's going to be popular. I think someone can see a niche not being done to it's potential and figure out how to do it better or make it more mainstream but I don't think someone can create something and put it out and people just gravitate to it because it's the new hot thing or because they think it's what they are supposed to be into.
I think IR porn has been there since the early beginnings and over time different people just found a way to put a fresh spin to it and make it a little better/different than what's come before. And I think the way IR is done partially a reflection of the times. I don't think the BLACKZILLA type of porn would do as well today as it did years ago and if BLACKED type porn was done 10 years ago it wouldn't have done as well. I keep seeing people saying that IR porn shouldn't be labeled or should just be sex between a two people without the stereotypical stuff but really if it IR porn didn't play on those stereotypes it would never be as popular as it is today.
