I think it's the opposite. Despite his popularity there have always been a lot of people that disliked him as a performer. I think most performers would get a lot more benefit of the doubt on a board like this than Deen has gotten.
It's a shame that this is happening. Not because of James Deens rep being destroyed (I don't think any of these places would be so quick to disassociate with him if the allegations were not true.) but that alot of these places allowed and promoted James Deen whilst probably knowing about what kind of things he was doing to the women on set(probably should've known when someone is the protege of Chico Wang). That as always whenever you hope the porn industry will eventually become more mainstream and less murky with the lines of consent that this shit is still happening and with one of the biggest male names in porn. Still whenever I would say something on the lines of the porn industry seeming less rapey I would always bring up Deen as a example of someone women wanted to work with and that the porn industry was moving away from that creepier stuff that happened in the past.
Such sad accusations to log on and read about,i have enjoyed James Deen's performances over at Kink but of course i have not seen every one of his scenes and same with Stoya i have enjoyed her scenes too.I am out the loop in terms of knowing about peoples private lives etc and only through reading this thread did i find out that Stoya was his ex.
I dislike his porn persona, and it does fit right in with Stoya's accusation, but I'm not interested in a trial-by-internet. I won't pretend to know who is more trustworthy, so I'll simply suggest that Stoya will have to go to court if she wants justice, with the proviso that even there she might not get it.
Can those who are more concerned about James Deen than Stoya please explain why they think she's lying, why others would support her with similar claims, and what makes them not believe her.

well if no others come out and say he raped them then he will just get a pass after everyone forgets about stoya being raped. which is sad and I hope she recovers from this, she will be in my prayers.
Sunlight is the best disinfectant. To the degree that this is all true--and it's looking worse and worse by the minute--putting an end to this sort of (alleged) behavior is, ultimately, in the best interests of the industry. If the adult world wants to be taken seriously, come out of the shadows, etc., then it needs to not actually _be_ (or at least tacitly accept), in whole or in part, the sordid back-alley that its detractors paint it as. As long as there's a kernel of truth to the "ugly side of porn" argument, it will continue to be (often unfairly) defined by it. I'd hope that the industry would take this as a unique opportunity to take a look inside and see what it might do differently...both in how it handles such situations (preferably before they "blow up" as media storms) and the fact that such situations (allegedly) arise in the first place.
Now Joanna Angel is going to come forward about their relationship, and Kink, Evil Angel, and Doc Johnson have all severed ties with him. This is surreal how quickly it all snowballed. I wonder how long it will take Farrah Abraham to jump in on this. Edited by - Aya on 11/30/2015 9:42:46 PM
^You're not kidding. I just checked Evil Angel's pay site. He's still listed as a director with a bio and trailer, but none of his directorial DVDs or directorial scenes come up. Wow.
That happened a long time ago. I think there's even a thread on it. When he switched distributors from Evil Angel to Girlfriend Films, they removed all his movies from the site.

This is an impressive response from a company with known performer issues. Hopefully others will follow suit. I say this not to destroy his career, I've never had a problem with scenes he is in, but this behavior is unacceptable. Regarding my Cytherea correlation, this in my opinion, is much worse. Someone she was intimate with and trusting with on a daily basis violated her in her home, I find that way more disturbing than random arbitrary violence. Good article. "Being silenced is what keeps sex workers in danger, and the stigma is what keeps sex workers silent when they’re attacked. It’s a vicious cycle, and I hope we can work together toward humanizing one another and preventing instances like this from continuing to happen."
I'm laughing at the number of "well I never liked the guy" posts there are. Someone somewhere liked him because he worked a shit ton and don't forget the legion of younger women who idolize him. I never thought he was a creep or a douche or any of the other names people here have called him as though they have some sort of super Spidey sense that he was a criminal. Give me a break. I used to follow his blog and his twitter a few years ago and he never seemed like an asshole. He was funny and entertaining in a very dry way. It didn't take a single tweet to annihilate this guy's career. It just took someone with balls big enough to reveal it to the public what everyone in the industry knew and STILL employed this guy. They knew. Money meant more to them. But show customers what is going on? In record time, he is booted out. Absolute bullshit. Porn world is full of dirty little secrets and there is a MINISCULE amount of TRUE RESPECT for women. It's an absolutely horrendous industry. Keep stealing their product. The fuckers don't deserve a dime. Edited by - savoy on 11/30/2015 11:52:38 PM
I hope that as the porn industry becomes more mainstream, it becomes financially disastrous for companies to tolerate criminals. On the other hand, people's reputations are valuable and according to the US justice system one is innocent until proven guilty in court. And "I never liked him" does not count as evidence...
Why would Stoya drop a bomb like this and then say she's going almost completely off the grid including ignoring her own phone for over two weeks? Doesn't she know that people and the media are going to inevitably need her to further explain what happened, most notably when did this happen and had it happened on more than one occasion? Also, additional information from Joanna Angel is essential given that she was in the longest personal relationship with him and also had a very long working relationship that produced hundreds of scenes for her company. If anyone knows James Deen it's her. Edited by - Seijuro on 12/1/2015 12:12:49 AM

This sounds exactly like the kind of twisted, self-destructive logic used by people who live in poor, crime-infested areas and who cite various excuses for not cooperating with law enforcement agencies -- and thereby condemn themselves to living in poor, crime-infested areas in perpetuity. It's nothing but a self-fulfilling prophecy. Failing to report rapes to the police, and offering elaborate excuses/rationalizations/justifications for others' failures to report rapes to the police, does nothing but allow rape to continue to occur.
^ Very rarely do I get to post exactly the same thing in two different places at the same time, but you've given me that opportunity. The reason that line of thinking is wrong is because it supposes that NO ONE reports these issues. Which isn't true. While "everyone" doesn't report them, they are reported. And nothing happens. And THAT is what dissuades other people from reporting. Not a general platitude of "the police won't do anything", but actual stories of the issues being reported and nothing happening, which leads people to believe that when they report it, nothing's going to happen as well.
For me the issue is not ruining someone's reputation and livelihood for the rest of their lives when little very detail is known. I gather this happened over a year ago, so I don't feel that all of a sudden we need to rush to judgment within a day of accusations. If there is substance to her claims, I'm sure a lot more details will be coming out in the next few weeks whether it's from her or other stories of similar conduct, we are already getting some of that. This isn't because I think she's lying or because I am more concerned with him. It's just that overnight this guy's career is being flushed down the toilet by uninformed online lynch mobs. Anyone that believes studios and people in the business would only cut ties with him if they knew the accusations are true, is naive as to how such things play out these days.

That's just nonsense. The system is not perfect; the police cannot solve all problems for all people; it's not always going to be possible to get an arrest or a conviction; etc. But the notion that if a serious crime like rape is reported to the police, "nothing will happen," is just wrong.
Regardless of who is telling the truth, I don't understand how anybody could take sides without having proof of what happened & not being there at that moment.
If we're going to zero in on rape here, are you aware of how many rape kits go unprocessed? Of how many rape/sexual assault complaints/accusations don't lead to any type of trial? Because the answer is a whole lot of them. Like, the majority of them.
This is my first post here, so please forgive my potentially uninformed questions. There is a former adult actress that now posts on youtube. Her content is nearly exclusively either clips of her speaking against the porn industry, or selfies of her video game prowess. I saw a video of her working with JD near the end of her career. While her gradual decent into harder core material is well documented, he basically kicked her ass. As beautifully as the scene was shot, I was left a lot more disturbed than aroused. Considering what she has said publicly about her career I'm surprised that her name hasn't come up in this thread. I'm a long time lurker, but first time poster. What am I missing here?

Yeah a guy who hits women in the face and shoves their heads in his crotch couldn't possibly be a rapist, that's everyday behaviour I guess... Edited by - BlackSix on 12/1/2015 4:04:52 AM

By that logic practically no serial rapist or child molester would ever be convicted. The world isn't CSI Miami where every rape has physical evidence or a video tape or something. Multiple accusations start to add up in a court of law.
There's only two people you could be talking about here. One of them, no one takes her seriously. The other, I don't think many people pay attention to her at all anymore. Edited by - whatsatelephonebill on 12/1/2015 4:03:54 AM
That's exactly who I'm talking about. Why isn't she taken seriously? I'm not posting her name out of respect for some self-imagined respect for her privacy. I hate the idea of someone being falsely accused, but Stoya? Seriously? Why isn't she credible? I deserve whatever backlash I may get for throwing something like this out without tangible evidence, but... Doesn't anybody else think some of these questions could be answered by a certain lady playing video games on youtube?

Thanks. Found the video. She certainly does talk about a very bad assault and just because she became anti-porn I don't think it sounds unbelievable but there's also no reason to think it was Deen per se.

The scene I was i initially referring to is posted on his site. She's wearing white. The production quality is amazing. She definitely shot a harder scene or two, but something about this one struck me as too much. Along with some very hard sex he just kind of beat her up. I honestly am just curious why she hadn't come up in this discussion. Her 'retirement' was taken 'seriously' at the time.
I don't want to criticize her, but Jessie Rogers before speaking against the porn industry was active on this forum and I remember her talking with enthusiasm of a scene with James Deen, Keiran Lee and Tony T so rough that this scene wasn't even released, even if the scene was for Pornstar punishment. And nobody forced her to comment about that scene (even because nobody knew about it) that she described as the favorite of her career or something like that. Actually she said that the scene was so rough because her wanted it to be like this. So, even if she changer her mind about the industry I don't think that James Deen has anything to do with this in this case.
You might be referencing her HGB video. Just maybe I did the right thing... My favorite web personalities include 'jimmy hooligan' and 'Dana Dearmond'. Do either of you care to set me straight?

Mercedes is an intelligent woman who campaigns against rabid feminism & their lack of interest in women's rights-such as when Cytherea got raped & she fund raised for her while the feminists sneered at her/ignored her appeals for help etc. All she has said which I agree with is making a rape accusation on social media years after the fact is wrong. She hasn't shown any real support for Deen personally.

One thing I still don't get. After all the accusations, why the fuck is THIS shit still the newest update on the Stoya/Kayden Kross co-owned website Trenchcoatx.com? If you read the description to the video, it's even more disturbing!
Don't be so naive. It depends on who's doing the reporting and who's being accused (gender, ethnicity, financial status, social status etc.) Is it possible for a sex worker to officially file rape charges against a man with an abundance of financial resources and get a conviction especially if the two have been in a public romantic relationship? Of course it's possible. But not probable.

I said that people shouldn't take sides without having proof of what happened & not being there at that moment. As in people shouldn't be guessing & siding with someone until it's been proven by the police (and/or in court) or not. I didn't say anything about someone being convicted or not. I don't appreciate that you tried to twist my words to benefit your argument and to try to make me look like an idiot.

It was a few years back when Dana returned-2012/2013. She directed some psychological thrillers for Evil Angel. It is totally bizarre-your website uploads a video of Deen manipulating/forcing a woman into sex, then two days later you accuse him of raping you on social media. Then the other owner of the site says what a pig he is.
