You're assuming that most viewers agree with you that Carter "didn't want to be there" and "wasn't really into it." If most viewers don't share your perception of the scene then there's no reason that the showcase would fail. IMO Carter's second scene is an average Blacked scene, which isn't much of a criticism since an average scene for Blacked is still above average compared to a lot of other porn, at least for me.
As mentioned much earlier on the thread, Adriana didn't get paid as much as she expected because Hard X rejected her claim that Lex was the first black man she had ever shot with. We don't know that it had anything to do with her Stern interview or some black men possibly having her on their no lists.
Do we know that her Stern interview is the reason?
Speigler realizes that if his clients don't shoot with black men then they are limiting their job opportunities, which he views as bad business. It's for this same reason that he discourages his clients from having no lists.

There are probably fewer inquiries because, as a group, the two races you mentioned appear to be on fewer no lists, if any at all, in comparison to their counterpart.
As such, the people that would ask those sort of questions are quelled from firing off anything to performers that are actually working with members of whatever group they would have inquired about. Well, at least you'd think they'd be.

Adriana Chechik maybe is the one who is charging more for IR but I don't know if she does or not. Maybe on Prince and Rico no list if you watch the Dogfart interview on who is on there no list. I bet Adriana is on that list too but that is another story, after that Stern interview it's clear that IR fans aren't her request for IR scenes or directors who shoot IR are booking her for those scenes because it's costing her maybe to build a IR fan base.
Speaking of IR fans do these girls or companies don't care about those type of fans because is it's the reason why the won't do IR scenes? I know some IR fans can hating on a girls who doesn't do IR which is there choice. Companies like Vivid, Wicked, Brazzers, and DP are on every IR fans no list of companies not to support. Speaking of Cruise I don't know she isn't really into black men because after watching the Blacked.com scene she wasn't into it.

Well, she posted that the Rob Piper/Riley Reid threesome scene was her favorite. Perhaps it'll show for you then.

^^I don't know about Rico, but Prince expressed support for Adriana when she was called out on Twitter after her Stern interview. That their plans to shoot with one another never came to fruition doesn't necessarily mean that the two are on bad terms. Perhaps they'll shoot together in the future?

I'm not afraid to say the rumors are against LA Direct, and have been said by more than a couple girls (and to be fair, usually those girls are pissed at LA Direct in general when they say them).
As far as agents who have no issue with IR, Ideal Image is run by Tee Reel as far as I know, and they obviously have no issue with their girls doing IR either.

So you're of a mind that slavery caused racism, which is to say that the racism we see in American culture today is a corollary of slavery? I find this interesting because many critics out there believe that slavery was the product of racism. It's almost a chicken and egg thing.
However I think it's wrong to emphasize the link between slavery and racism. It's wrong to ignore it altogether as well. However it must be noted that slavery goes back for thousands of years, and in the majority of instances, it was intra-racial. Caucasians owning caucasians (e.g. Rome), Asians owning Asians (Mughal empire), Africans owning Africans, etc. Even in America it is interesting to note that race was not a part of the rights recognized by slave owners. There was no criteria that a slave owner be of a particular race, nor that the slave be of a race. This is why some tribes of Native Americans joined the Confederacy. Blacks in America also owned slaves.
But racism is universal and has been around as far back as cultures or tribes were able to visually distinguish their own from others, i.e. superficially identifiable in-group versus out-group. They may not have called it racism, but the essence is the same. "They look different, therefore they are not of our kind." The bias for one's own "kind" is ancient. In the end, ancient theories of ethnic, cultural, or otherwise superficial superiority are as bigoted as modern ones.
What I think is most interesting about the IR genre is that it is ushering in this bizarre new era in which many thousands, if not millions, who are "of a kind" actually PREFER those of another rather than their own. We know there are many whites who enjoy IR. It certainly couldn't be quite the popular theme that it is without at least a significant share of white consumers. And for whatever reasons they prefer black males or females in their porn rather than the conventional white with white or "vanilla" fare. I know there are many white females out there who prefer black men, and will declare it openly. I personally know of Asian dudes who prefer black women. 50 years ago they may have been shunned into exile or disowned. Such stigmatizing still exists, but it's been radically diminished. The taboo of yesteryear (race mixing) has become popular today, and what was popular (or rather common) in yesteryear (discrimination) has become taboo today.

For the record, slavery hardly started with European explorers.
Anyway I don't think we need to go so far back with this topic, as it weakens the argument. I think they need to coin a new term for this sort of thing though.
Someone mentioned Bode's Law earlier in this thread. I think there needs to be a new law that proves for any discussion about race how it inevitably yields a debate about slavery.
Perhaps the recent debate about the rebel flag inspired this though. Now there's a whole nother can o worms we don't need to get into, although I haven't been following this thread too closely, so it may not surprise me to see it's already been broached.

This is sort of tangential(not about extra pay), but as it is, the category "IR" typically refers to black male talent being paired with white, latina, or asian female talent. And it is not uncommon industry practice for a number of said female talent to either hold off on being paired in a typical IR categorized scene or not ever be paired in one at all.
I think that the thought process for those that'd prefer there not be any question at all as to whether or not the next upcoming [insert trending female talent] that they really like will be paired with black male talent at some point in their careers is that not having "IR" as a distingushing tag/label/category would increase the chance of of them being more willing to work with black male talent, whether it actually would or not.
Even more tangentially, I have observed that improvement in production value and portrayal( how they're made to look) has actually made a few female talent(s) change their stances.

Agreed, that's why I replied and attempted to dismiss the connection to slavery.

Why people see interracial in a negative way but not in a positives way. How do that black men feel about it because they don't seem to care about it. They just don't talk about it because they are hired by that director just to get a paid check because that is the only work they do. If you go back to what Justin Long said 5 years on why he stop doing IR.

Actually slavery might have started with European explorers...Slave is a European word and it goes back to the Slavic people who are still being enslaved..there are more people in slavery now than during the slave trade and most of them are European. Maybe that is a answer to the question about IR. The European style of slavery was different than other forms of servitude where servants were treated with some respect and eventually returned to their families..Europeans had a oppressive style we see now in porn where only one or two companies have a say in what is seen.

Nah. Slavery was around for thousands of years, and the European chattel system was not new. Chattel system of slavery goes back at least a thousand years before the Europeans began the trans Atlantic slave routes.
A great lesson
This trans-continental chattel slavery cost the lives of tens of millions, several times more than the TASD and was just as brutal.

Justin Long seems like a cool dude. I can't say I fully comprehend all the reasons he gave for boycotting IR. I don't think it's fair for all black talent in the industry to expect popularity that whites get. They deserve fair treatment, yes, but the demographics of the consumers simply dictate who is going to be most popular. Most porn consumers are white, at least for American produced porn. Therefore it's just a natural result that the most popular stars, specifically regarding females, are mostly going to be white. Justin asked why aren't black females more popular, but his question is specifically asking why are they not more popular as compared with white females. This is simply not a fair expectation. Whites outnumber blacks 5 to 1. When looking at consumers, considering whites have more disposable income, they will be even likelier than this 5:1 ratio to be purchasing porn. So in terms of purchasing power, white consumers will probably dictate what gets produced on the order of 10:1 as compared with blacks. I'm not putting any blame on the lack of black consumers. Lord knows the economy recession hurt the vast majority of Americans at least to some extent, but in many cases to a large extent, including whites. However blacks were hurt the most in the recession, so over the last 7 years since then, I have noticed fellow black porn fans from various message boards expressing how they are less and less likely to ever even consider paying for porn. Plus you gotta factor in the rise of tube sites, not just PornHub (one of the top websites ranked IN THE WORLD), but Xhamster, Xtube, Redtube, etc.
Now I'm no expert market analyst, but I think this must be at least a significant reason for the recent discussion about what happened to black female stars. Fewer blacks males buying porn = fewer black stars. It's that simple.
IMO it seems like Justin Long mostly just wasn't interested in doing porn any longer. The racism component must have just been the final straw. It's a shame because I think he was a great performer. But if you check his Twitter he seems to mostly be focused on pursuing his rap career. I can wish him well with that.
But often times when you see a performer exit the industry, they like to find a platform to elevate themselves on a high horse. Maybe it's a coping mechanism. Was it really as bad as they say? Maybe it was. I will take him on his word, as it mostly seemed couched in opinion anyway, and everyone is entitled to their own. Or maybe it wasn't that bad, if not for him then for others. We know some porn stars have left and unloaded rants which came off more as validation after the fact or confirmation bias. They will go to Youtube and launch PSA attacks on the porn industry, making sweeping criticisms based on their personal experience.
IDK. I just find it odd that Justin Long was suggesting he wasn't being valued enough. IMO that would just be terrible business to have overlooked him when he was available. If anything, I would estimate his value higher than most, certainly higher than just an average white dude. On the one hand he points out the instances where he was excluded, due to what is dubbed "dodging." No doubt this is a real practice, but from all I have gathered it is quite minimal. Yet, on the other hand, one has to acknowledge the fact that being a black male and especially well equipped, even for porn standards, Justin must have had opportunities others did not. Smart companies know he had value over ordinary performers, regardless of race.
So when he says "Top white girls refuse to work with black males" what he means is SOME top white girls refuse. But I know many do not refuse. Shit I would argue most top girls don't refuse. I can think of tons of examples of top white girls who are open to IR. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think most popular white females do or will do IR. Those who are career long dodgers are going extinct. It may have been a viable or useful gimmick before, but the paradigm has shifted. It just makes more sense to get that money and not skip out on IR for so long. The payoff can't be worth it.
Think about Alexis Texas. She is the most notable dodger ever. I am not a hater. I just don't understand. Say she gets a bonus for her first IR, let's say it's quadruple the normal rate. Shit, let's do it even better. Let's say it's 10 times the normal rate. Alexis Texas has been in the game for over 7 years now. In all that time she coulda done dozens of IR scenes, building her fanbase up even bigger. Clearly that's way more money left on the table than she has gained by dodging. But hey, I'm sure this is just a gross oversimplification.
But if someone can better explain the business motive for dodging for that long, please break it down for knuckleheads like myself. I would be honored to bask in that wisdom.
Let's forget her for a moment and get back to my other main point. She is not the norm. Far from it. Yes she is a top talent. Yes, in effect she has refused to worth with black males. But this is far from pervasive practice. Ok enough of this one
Long also declares that "Top companies refuse to shoot black males." Phrasing though!
It's true, companies like Digital Playground and Brazzers very rarely use black talent. But what he means is SOME top companies refuse. Many many others do not. In fact, almost every major company I can think of does some IR. Not just broad chains like BangBros and Jules Jordan, but even niche sites that cater to specific themes like Kink with their BDSM. Kink is the biggest BDSM brand out there I think and they appear to be equal opportunity employers. Most of their talent is white, but that's just most of the talent pool overall. My point is, even though they are more niche, they still see value in black talent.
Again, like most white females being open to IR, I think most companies are open to hiring black talent, or at least not opposed to it. And many companies prioritize it, e.g. West Coast Prod, Blacked, and sometimes Jules Jordan Video.
But it's going to come down to consumers. If more people bought titles with black talent, then we'd get more. Thanks to Blacked stepping the game up, I think they are proving it's a lot more viable than some people speculated. Now we're seeing a lot more IR content, and existing brands are having to improve.
Maybe 5 years ago when Justin Long wrote that things were a little different. Still in the thick of the recession and with the tube site boom back then, things looked more dire. But I think things are rebounding. Right now looks like a great time for him to rejoin if he wanted. But the truth is I think he is less concerned with participating in the biz for reasons aside from political. He may just be over it and more interested in music.
Peace!

It's worth remembering that Adriana doesn't want to shoot scenes with black men in which race is emphasized. That limits her options a bit. It's entirely possible that Dogfart, for example, may have asked multiple times already to shoot her only to have their offers declined. I don't expect to see Carter Cruise shoot many scenes with black men in the future for that same reason.

Don't want to make this about the slave trade it does go back further than the American trade. The difference in how it was conducted is the issue. Arabs became involved later on and the trade between them and Europeans marked a change in how slaves were treated bought and sold. European elitism can be seen in porn even now..IR and race are still issues in 2015 almost 200years after slavery ended. Porn has become about pushing a racial agenda instead of selling dvds.

Interesting read, that Justin Long letter. (Though, posting it in bold font made it hard on the eyes, Interracial4Life.) He makes some good points, of course, but I'd make the counter argument that much of the problem has to do with human nature, in which physical appearance matters in this industry, even your skin color. As it's been said repeatedly in this thread (like everything else), the porn customers play a large part in determining what the industry churns out, and while the skin color/race of the male talent doesn't make much of a difference for customers like myself, it does matter for a sizeable portion of the pay-for-porn audience; some are turned off by black male talent appearing in scenes, others are turned on (prefer) black male talent. With that being said, it's clear that there's a great demand for scenes featuring black guys fucking white girls. While on the other hand, there's not much interest for black-on-black scenes, or for black girls in general, unfortunately. To Melvyn's point, despite "dodger" pornstars and "white only" studios, the black guys in the industry are doin' a hell of a lot better today than their female counterparts (I'd also throw in Latin and Asian girls, who are also hard to find nowadays.)

That is too bad because she isn't going to grow a IR fan base so it best that IR fans should support the one who have no problems doing IR.

slavery was already running even before the very concept of Europe existed , the Egyptians had slaves (I hope you remember the Bible and the escape of the enslaved Hebrews) , the middle eastern peoples had Slaves (again you do remember the Bible and the Hebrews deported in Babylon) , the Chinese had Slaves , the Africans had slaves not to mention Arabian who were master of commerce in slaves , the fact that you speak an European language doesn't mean the very concept of slavery came from there.
Also I'd like to know where it was such gentle slavery where the slaves where returned to their families , AFAIK this only happened for those momentarily enslaved to pay their debt
The only place where a slave could be freed and gain full citizenship and all that derived from it was ancient Rome , and BTW the Roman themselves were enslaved when captured after a defeat in battle which was the basic rule of the era for those who lost in war.
ethnic based slavery though was unknown except maybe for Sparta with the Helots although their status was unclear

Teens Love Huge Cock, not Black. Yes it started with a majority of IR scenes but that quickly vanished and they basically tripled the content of that sub-site with Vanilla scenes. The IR scene I referred to with RK was the most recent TLHC scene with Syren De Mer. Seems like, at least to me, the first IR scene RK put out in in general in almost a year since the TLHC introduction

Team Skeet (or at least the company behind them) launched Teens Love Black Cock, not Reality Kings. And the IR scenes on Teens Love Huge Cocks vanished because Greg Lansky shoots TLHC, and he basically started shooting whatever IR scenes he was going to shoot for Blacked instead (I mean, before they decided on the vignette based scenes they're doing now, Blacked was almost literally an all-IR version of TLHC in the way it was shot).

If we take out the all the BTS politics of the industry and look at it from a purely business stance then ask ourselves how many performers are we talking about every getting into a position where they can command a huge payday. I am willing to bet that it is only a small number that ever get that big payoff by waiting. Has there been an environment created by consumers, producers, and performers that fosters the idea that waiting can lead to a bigger payday for anyone who is patient enough. That I am not too sure of. Every year hundreds of girls enter the adult industry and every year a high percentage of them washout within a year, those that don't and want to make a legit career out of it wont reach that level of pornstar. Those that are on the "classic" career track we all hear about some will get stuck in various niche(ie teen, milf, gg, glamour, etc) they will have solid careers but they wont be able to move out of that. Then you have those this are versatile enough in look and performance to transition between various niches but just because you are versatile doesn't mean your a star either many of them will be the girls producers use to fill out the casts of movies or website updates, they have their fanbases and some might be sizable but if you are outside of the fanbase you have to be reminded they are still in the industry, might sound harsh but this is where lots of girls are in their careers. Then you have the few that have the looks, the versatility to transition between niche, have the notoriety and cache to be known and cared about outside of their fanbase, and the "IT" factor. That last group the true pornstars are the only ones that truly have the incentive to wait and get that bigger payday.
Lets face it any girl that needs a WOW factor first scene every few months was never going to be a star anyway.
Lets go back though to the group I believe most girls fall into that build a fanbase and feel they need to do something different ever so often. They are the group that tends to overplay their hand when it comes to IR the most. They gain that popularity and they start getting offers and think hey if I can get this now what can I get in 6 months a year from now when I am a bigger star, that decide to take a risk and not strike when the iron is hot. They fall into the classic trap of thinking when things are great and trending upward they will continue that way for a while but unfortunately that is not how it works. At some point that popularity levels off even declines and a year goes by the guys that were requesting her for IR have moved onto other girls, maybe her looks have changed, whatever. She stars shopping around her first IR and she finds the offers she was getting before are not there, she goes to her agent and says what happened. Well you waited too long the markets in a different place and while you can shop this and make some kind of premium it wont be anyway near what you were getting offered previously. The risk in the end didn't pay off nearly as well as she had thought it would.
We Kevin Moore say that companies are making investments into the IR market now and Blacked is flourishing, we have IR popping up in places it had not been seen before, new websites, etc. so we might have many lower tier performers getting premium offers and some maybe taking them. For those that don't they have to realize that companies wont be making this kind of investment in IR forever, eventually the market is going to start normalizing and companies will begin to get smarter with how they spend their dollars dedicated to IR.
In the end ever performer needs to do a Cost-Benefit Analysis because I am pretty damn sure every producer does one when are deciding if getting a girls first IR is worth it. Costs and benefits are necessarily monetary either they can end up there in some cases.

The excuse White outsells Black is lame. It is like saying popcorn outsells candy at movie theaters so lets stop selling candy. That would be ridiculous. Porn basically decided to force a race agenda that is the bottom line. Why they are doing it is anybody's guess.

^^Every girl is different and there's no one size fits all type of career path to follow. Even girls who would seem to be in the same niche of porn have different careers...Kelly Divine, Alexis Texas, and Luscious Lopez are all thought of as big butt pornstars but their careers are fairly different. Luscious is a great solid performer but has never been a star on the level of Kelly or Alexis. Kelly is an "A" level girl but never had the sudden popularity of Alexis but also because of her choices had a more solid career than Alexis because she was a better and more versatile performer. Alexis peaked and her popularity waned because she was working in a narrower niche than Kelly. Alexis was limiting herself to the same few studios doing pretty much the same thing and it just got to the point of those studios and fans eventually and saying "Eh...we've sen this plenty of times before...time to move on." But as I said before some girls don't want to be a big name pornstar and don't want to constantly work and are content with the statis they're created for themselves.
If I were to plan out a girl's career, I'd totally skip the girl/girl only phase because during that phase you're almost totally off the map for the majority of people who watch porn. I'd have her do boy/girl for about 6 months or so and build an audience. Then I'd have her start doing anal scenes for a bit. Then start doing IR and whatver else. BUT that's not a good plan if it's someone like Kelly Divine. Because of her body type she''ll be in big demand for big butt and IR right off the bat so she'd probably need to move into IR and even anal sooner than someone like Jenna Haze. if the girl is an older MILF type you have to plan things in another way. A girl you know will never be "A" list requires a different stratagy. Some girls are perfect have a NAUGHTY AMERICA type of career. Some girls will excel with JULES JORDAN. Some girls will shine brightest doing shoots for KINK.COM. Some girl's niche will be shooting for DIGITAL PLAYGROUND. All those will have a different time frame on when doing IR is best for them.
Holding out for a big payday is a crap shoot. The girl might peak and the beginning of her career and it's down hill from then on. A girl might go almost unnoticed until she colors her hair a different color or gets a boobjog or buttjob or simply gains some weight then suddenly she's in demand after being in porn for years before.
There's no easy answer on what works best and when. A girl will have to figure it out as she goes along.

So if a porn retailer tells you a certin type of porn sells better than another and they make more money off one moreso than the other and shows you the numbers you'll tell him that's lame and he needs to ignore the numbers and buy more of the lower selling product...you really expect him to listen to you and do that?

^^ You make some good points but the industry is monopolized now. Women don't decide their careers as much as they did in the past. Its like a person owns a company and if a actress does not fit the image she doesn't work as much.. If race is added to the equation then Black women and men hardly work..Women might get paid more for IR but when the novelty wears off then what you can only be a virgin once. Porn is basically a one dimensional industry now and it is boring and fading like you point out in your Alexis Texas analogy.

Well, 150 years since the end of the Civil War, to the year. But the real trip is we are only 50 years from integration aka desegregation. Think about that. That's hardly 2 generations, not even a lifetime. It's a trip to think theres millions of Americans still not even senior citizens yet, but they grew up when the races were segregated by law. It's a whole different world now by comparison, but obviously since it was only a comparatively short while ago in the historic sense, people still have issues and harbor hatred.
But I think pretty soon, it will be safe to say the main cause for folk's bigoted attitudes is just human nature. Slavery, Civil War, Civil Rights - none of these will be major relevant issues. It's just human nature that some percentage of the population is going to be xenophobic or hateful. Proof is just look at other nations that don't have the same history. They still have discrimination. Majority race wherever you go is still the "in group."

So that would seem to rule out Adriana appearing on Dogfart then. No problem there for me. I can't really recommend that brand anyway. It makes us have to wonder how to define "emphasized" though. HardX is a great brand, and I think they know how to present IR well. Aren't they the ones who got Adriana with Lex? Well, I think other companies could easily learn some lessons then from HardX in quality and presentation.

Just for clarification, those are two different sites. One is Teens Like Big Cocks or Teens Like It Big. That's been around a while. But there is a new site that launched just a couple months ago called TeensLoveBlackCocks. It's a TeamSkeet site. I think they just released their first DVD recently too, called "Interracial Submission." The surface / presentation of their webpage is kinda wack, with photoshopped pics, but the content is really good. Check out the preview videos.
IMO TLBC could give Blacked a run for their money. I really like their scenes so far. My favorite one so far was with Yhivi. Yes that's her name. Never heard of her before but she's one fine-ass cutie with a booty. I like her look. No idea if she's Hispanic or Asian or what but she's definitely on my radar now.
Check them out

Well said. Everyone loves chocolate. How about some chocolate covered popcorn? Off the chain.
Just add chocolate, then freeze it.

Sorry for being pedantic, but Teens Love Huge Cocks and Teens Like it Big are two entirely separate sites on two entirely separate networks (TLHC is Reality Kings, TLIB is Brazzers).

Are we living in different dimensions? On my version of earth there's much more types of porn, girls, body types, fetishes than ever before and they're much easier for fans to see. It sounds like in your reality things are much like my earth's 80s porn before the internet and when VIVID type porn was the the norm. Is Jenna Jameson still in porn in your alternate reality?

To me I think IR fans are just better off without Alexis Texas doing IR because it been almost 9 years now, and she will never do it. If she ever did her 1st IR I think that will be a bigger news story but it will be a bad scene anyway. She get more hated by black community then George W Bush, now Jade Stevens and Sara Jay get more move love by black men. BTW do girls who do IR know they have a black male base when they do IR or just some who don't know about IR fans because the industry just ignore them.

In the 80's Caballero Swedish Erotica had every genre of porn known. Back then Vanessa Del Rio, Seka, Annette Haven Johnny Keyes were already doing IR. Thats the point IR should not be a novelty now, porn should not be playing race cards it is regressive.

^ So now thousands of porn companies service tens of thousands of porn genres. That's one dimensional, how? That's boring, why?
So you'd rather go back to the days of one company that caters to everyone?
Carter Cruise, Romi Rain, Riley Reid and Casey Calvert are all doing IR. How is that regression?

^I totally agree, I don't understand what he's talking about. Porn has never been this diverse, it obviously could be better but it's way better Now compered to even 6 or 7 years ago.

I was responding to what was said about 80's porn. If you don't know porn before 6 years ago you cannot compare it to the 80's. Porn today is in a time warp it is regressing..

^ What variety of porn could I get in the 80's that I can't get now? What niche isn't being serviced? In what regard is it regressing? Please elaborate. Be specific and include examples if possible.

Eh, it may be more about production value & presentation(how nice she's made to look in her photosets, on video, & on boxcovers) than racial emphasis, because looking over the storyline/theme of the Blacked showcase, it doesn't hold back at all on racial emphasis. Point is, a clean, upscale look may have encouraged those that may not have done it otherwise.

^In everything that she's said/written about the issue of shooting with black men, Carter has been quite consistent in condemning race based roleplaying fetish porn (not to imply that she's labeled it as such, but nonetheless that is the kind of porn that she's disparaged). I don't see anything particularly upscale about the production value of Woodman Casting X, yet as far as I know she was happy to shoot for them, so I don't think her selectivity about what kind of scenes she is and isn't willing to shoot with black men is just a matter of how professional the production looks. I should note that, two scenes in, the "Blacked" component of her showcase has been more subtle than in some of Blacked's other scenes.

It's Teens Love Black Cocks it appeared around a month ago and was said to be part of RK network
Since I'm not a member as of yet I can't confirm anything but there it is
You may also note that they have a dedicated link so that members can make requests for specific girls either already there or to be asked for
