Who said otherwise?
In cases in which the pornstar is as big or near as big a name as Carter Cruise and offers only ridiculous excuses for not shooting IR earlier (it's all racist, I'm the biggest new name but no one wants to shoot my first IR, etc.) even as she shoots every other kind of porn available to her? Yeah, it will probably be the thinking process now.
The motivation now is not necessarily the same as the motivation in the past. We recently discussed this. I even placed some of the text in Kevin's comment in bold to better get across the point.
You're not new to this thread, and so already know that I think the trend Moore described sets a bad precedent and why I think so. You're free to disagree of course.
I've never suggested that I have a "great IR strategy" in my head, and frankly I would think that after our many exchanges on this thread you would understand my thinking by now.
In my opinion, if race is not an issue for a pornstar, she should make herself available for IR from day one instead of treating black men like pariahs until she can make a large enough paycheck off of them.

I understand our disagreement now, I wasn't clear enough in how I view holdouts. It goes like this for me: once I found out about a girl I check her data18 or iafd to see if she does IR or not and I go from when she first started and from that start point she has 2 years to do ir(fair right?) or I'm out. I also stop watching girls(like Carter) who do everything there is to do before IR.
I'm definitely not playing both sides of the fence because in Peta's case this is still her first year in the industry and she hasn't done any circus acts like Carter.
I know that this is completely fucking ridiculous and silly and a little bit petty but so is the entire concept of IR porn.

I feel you. I know a few people over on the other board catch a beef with me because I do look at it from a business standpoint. New chicks are turning 18 everyday and hopping into porn. I can understand how a chick may want to hold out from doing certain things to keep people checking for her scenes and wanting more. I don't take it as a personal jab. This is their job and livelihood. Some chicks do what Carter did and fizzle out and disappear, she just caught on. To me, just because a chick doesn't start out doing IR doesn't make them personally biased towards black men. They're playing "porno chess" to stay relevant.

My only real issue is that "porno chess" doesn't work, by and large. A girl is going to be as popular as she's going to be no matter what acts she does (outside of the things that you literally won't see any major company shoot). You can be Dani Daniels and do everything on a graduated scale and wait a year+ between firsts or you can be Remy LaCroix and start your career with a gangbang with anal and DP, it doesn't really matter in terms of how popular you will or won't be.
And then there's the easy to make economic argument that holding out for a bigger paycheck for your first (whatever act) scene actually makes you less money in the long run if you wait too long to do it.

Not necessarily. Something as simple as a change of hair color changed Jada stevens from "just another porn chick" to must have starlet starlet status. And she was even doing anal at that time. She was around as a blonde for years and when she went brunette she was every fucking where. Check her Iafd she was working with those second tier studios for the first 2-3 years, changed her hair color and started getting that Jules, Elegant & Evil money and was on every boxcover lol
She's a perfect example of how some women can be around for years and one little change to their repertoire can change their whole career.

I totally agree. Yeah, fans can say what they want and think a should do but realistically a girl should always do what they feel is best for themselves and career. Porn is such a tough business to navigate as far as longevity and popularity. Some girls don't enter porn planning a long career and others want to be a big porn star and have a long career. Some girls approach what they do based on that as well as outside sources. My attitude is that if I enjoy watching a girl I accept her choices (to a degree) and don't bring my rules into the equation.

"Porno chess" actually does work in many cases. There are a number of girls who's career suddenly took off because they started doing "harder" sex scenes, got breast implants, started doing IR, gained weight, started working for a particular studio, etc...Every girl has to find their niche and what works best for them and there's no one size fits all approach. Doing a certain sex or doing IR doesn't always mean they'll be more successful or even make more money.

I find it very interesting that some people interested in this showcase want everybody else to be as excited as they are. Well, we all have our feelings, of course, most it is irrational, but that’s just the way it is.
As long as you don’t back up the way you feel with some personal insults and made up facts, I do think it is OK. I for one am not excited about this and will not blame anybody who is, because I know we see things differently.
What a girl does before shooting IR matters to some people, how long she waits before shooting IR is the most important thing for others, and there are people who don’t care either way. And I don’t see anything wrong with any of these mind sets.

My point is basically that not only is what I bolded true, but the opposite is well. For "porno chess" to have worked, it would mean they either gained more fans or more money by waiting to shoot whatever type of scene than they would have from doing that type of scene when they started. And, as far as I can tell, that isn't really true. You can only do girl/girl and be really popular, or you can do everything right off the bat and have no one care about you, or vice versa. Holding off on any act for a long period of time for the sake of holding off on it (and I'm not just talking IR here), in the end, will not make you more popular, and most of the time, it won't make you more money than if you did it right when you started.
And to me, that's an entirely different thing from changing your look and finding something that resonates more with fans (i.e. Jada Stevens or Madison Ivy). And, this is just a personal opinion, but Jada took off because her original blonde dye job was terrible.
Edit: And doing certain acts that pay more, more often, will, by default, make you more money than not doing them. So if everything stays the same in a woman's porn career, she will, by default, make more money by doing certain acts in her career than by not doing. The only real argument against that would be whether doing those acts more often will cause the performers to "burn out" and shorten their careers.

Well I think they should follow Nina Hartley, she have been in porn since 1984 before most of these girls were born. She did IR, and her porn scene was an IR.She still looks hot at 56, and I think girls like Anikka Albrite and Jade Stevens are going to have longer porn careers then a Carter Cruise because they did IR and from the begin of there career. As for Cruise like any other girls who in porn they only doing for one color and it's not black or white it's green. BTW since this is on a bigger pay for IR how much do they get for an 1st IR, I hear it's around $4,000 0r $5,000 or higher. Now a black girls can't demand a bigger paid if she did IR with a white man but those scenes aren't as taboo or demand like BM/WF scenes.

There's a lot of debate on different viewpoints on this.
But it all boils down to what the female performers want to do themselves.
Some don't want to do anal, IR, gangbangs, boy-girl, creampies etc. I think it's very much up to the girls to themselves choose what they want do or not.
It's one thing to wish for a performer to do a certain acts and ask her on ADT, twitter etc or trying to convince them. but it's their bodies and their personal choice they don't have an obligation do things they don't want to just because the fans want them to do it.
If they want to postpone interracial because they think it'll give them more money for doing it it's also their choice just as some postpone anal or other acts onto later in their career.

^Like I wrote on the previous page, no one's talking about forcing pornstars to do anything or taking away their freedom of choice. However, recognizing a pornstar's right to make her own choices whatever those choices may be does not require us to view every such choice as good for us as consumers and fans, good for the industry, good for the pornstar's career, as moral and just, etc.

While I am nearly always able to ignore the performer's personal and business bts activity if I like their onscreen work enough, endorsing said activity is, for me at least, another matter entirely.
I don't think I've ever not downloaded a scene or not bought a porn film just out of sheer principled opposition to a performer, but on rare occasions I'll read or hear a pornstar say something or a series of somethings that result in my being turned me off by her (I can't recall this ever happening with a man) to the point that I am unable to pleasure myself to her scenes for a time. Luckily this hardly ever happens and when it does it isn't permanent.
Since I'll be watching her showcase, I apparently haven't quite gotten to that turn off point with Carter Cruise, though I wish I hadn't made the mistake of reading her comments on IR. Her decision to deride IR as racist while knowing full well that, if similarly taken at face value many of her scenes could be called misogynist was misguided to say the least. In fact, anyone who doesn't understand fetish could argue that a lot of Carter's scenes don't JUST feature b/g sex, but glorify gender stereotypes to the extreme. They could also argue that Carter supports the promotion of these stereotypes, stereotypes which are wrong and unjust. Critics could then go on to denounce the derogatory vibe that is present in so many of her scenes.
Those of you who have read Carter's blog entry on IR can see that I borrowed a few of the phrases and terms that she used in that post. I believe that she intentionally mischaracterized the nature of IR scenes for her own purposes. That irritates me, but to the point of being completely turned off by her work? No, not so far. Admittedly it's been months since I last watched any of the content of her's that I own, but perhaps it's more important that I haven't deleted any of those scenes either.
I don't really have any rules like Bobmarblee's, but practically speaking if a pornstar in the US doesn't shoot IR or only shoots it rarely I probably won't be seeing much of her content until/unless that changes. That's just to be expected due to the high volume of IR scenes that I watch vs. non-IR scenes.

If this is the Blog Post Scroll down
A quote from the post. What exactly did she say wrong or derogatory. She pretty much said the same thing that many black patrons here have said regarding the depiction of IR porn.
"My reasoning for waiting didn’t have to do with money, but rather the type of content I initially saw that turned me off from it. A lot of interracial porn doesn’t JUST feature interracial sex, but glorifies racial stereotypes to an extreme. I don’t support the promotion of those stereotypes, because I think they are wrong and unjust. To me, interracial porn should be just like any other porn. Luckily, I think people are starting to agree on that, as is evidenced by the creation of sites like Blacked.com, who I think does wonderful work."

I discussed this in more detail on page 2 of the thread. Carter Cruise is a fetish princess. She understands roleplaying and fetish play, so I do not believe for one second that she actually thinks that the IR scenes she criticizes are racist anymore than she believes that the BDSM scenes she shoots are misogynistic. I, her, and anyone else who is familiar with or a participant in the fetish lifestyle can immediately recognize IR scenes of the DogFart or Devil's Film variety as fetish scenes. If someone is uncomfortable with a certain fetish, they should say so. Adriana Chechik did is on her thread and earlier I praised her for that. Is it likely that Adriana recognizes that those IR scenes are fetish scenes and Carter doesn't? Not very, but perhaps you disagree.

I'm going to go a step further and say that men - and I'm not including you here Iramaj1 because I don't know what your gender is or how would evaluate IR - men who allege that IR scenes are racist are so used to seeing women depicted a certain way in porn that they don't realize that if they evaluate porn scenes in general by the same standard with which they evaluate IR they would also have to conclude that most porn is sexist. In fact, there are plenty of sex-negative feminists who would argue that porn, especially the rough type that Carter specializes in, is promoting all sort of sexist stereotypes and is misogynistic in the same way that Carter argued that a lot of IR is promoting all sorts of racial stereotypes and is racist. Yet we know that Carter would call out those feminists for their ignorance and she'd be right to do so. I'm just recognizing the inconsistency for what it is.

Well, I guess one could say that Carter Cruise "played her cards right" here: she did the nasty stuff (anal, DP, gangbang) just weeks/months into her career, thus putting herself "on the map" in the porn biz and helping her to win "Best New Starlet" at both the AVN and XBIZ Awards. Now that she's an established star in the industry, she gets another entire movie dedicated to her for her first IR sex scenes. Hypothetically speaking, she probably doesn't get this BLACKED showcase if she does her first IR right outta the gate in some forgettable scene for BangBros, Reality Kings, etc.
(By the way, the trailer was really good; I, for one, am lookin' forward to this.)

Hey, as long as a white girl having sex with a black man is its own, separate category (IR), things will continue to be the same: some girls will do it right from the get-go (Veruca James), others will wait a lil' while (Carter Cruise) and some will never do it at all. It's easier to blame the individual girls for this setup, but if you ask me, it's unfair to blame them when the porn business, as a whole, is most responsible for the arrangement.

^The industry being messed up does not absolve individual pornstars of personal responsibility for their choices, especially when Veruca James and plenty of other pornstars have demonstrated that choosing to not play the game is a very real option.

I think she was being honest and just really think she doesn't see things the way you do. I agree that most of the stuff in porn is role-playing and fetish and of course some people will be more bothered and turned of by some of that stuff more than others. It's entirely possible she doesn't see the extreme sex you says she does because perhaps she likes it doesn't think it's bad. A girl can play a summisive or be dominated or whatever not see that as a reflection of all women. However, perhaps she sees some of the more stereotypical IR as being insulting to blacks or makes her uncomfortable. It's entirely possible she doesn't like those stereotypes and had no desire to shoot that type of IR and felt comfortable until she saw what BLACKED was doing.

I still don't think she contradicts herself. I haven't read anything other than what was posted in this thread but she's says that she thinks much of the IR porn is racist, bad or whatever and she didn't want to do that type of IR porn. Fine. Some of IR porn can be seen as racist and stereotypical and she didn't shoot that type of IR porn. Here she says IR is a completely different genre of porn. She's right. For most studios in the industry it is. It can easily be viewed as a genre all to itself. Not every studio/movie treats it that way but more often than not it's treated like a seperate genre. And like some other genres in porn some girls make calculated ways to approach it based on career.
I see that as the the same line of thinking without her contradicting what she said before.

Your right. She would've never been able to get an IR showcase if she hadn't taken the time to build her brand name by doing other stuff. Not every girl wants this or can pull it off. For the ones who choose to go this route I say more power to them. There's real right or wrong to this. If the girl wants to have this type of career and she can make it work then she did good. As we can see, some fans don't like it it's impossible to please everyone and it's foolish for a pornstar to even try. I'm sure there are fans who don't like that she did IR at all. There are fans who would rather she shot her first IR for another studio. There are fans who don't think she deserves desrves an IR showcase. There are fans/people saying "Who's Carter Cruise?" and are totally indifferent to this movie (I'm one of those).
I think the fans made out pretty good. If they were waiting for an IR scene from Carter, they've got a whole movie devoted to it. If Cater made more money for it...congrads to her. I'm sure it will be a big seller for BLACKED, so good for them. For the people who have stopwatches timing how soon a girl does IR or the people who concerned about the girl's pay...sorry, you can't always get what you want. As long as people are individuals with their own wants and needs you probably never will.

Would you care to elaborate on the personal responsibility aspect of your statement? I'm all for personal responsibility and accountability as I think it's severely lacking in general these days, but I'm not sure how that fits into the context of this thread. Are some performers shirking their responsibilities? Can you outline what those responsibilities are?

Draxxx, this movie in itself (if the trailer is not misleading) is as stereotypical as most of the IR scenes on the market, and I mean it is just another “white girl cheating on white boyfriend with a black dude” movie. Most will say they won’t shoot IR because of the stereotypical stuff and then end up in a movie that contains all that they complained about.
This is why I usually don’t really give much importance to what some girls say before they shoot IR. I don’t try to prove them wrong or right.
To me, asking a pornstar why she doesn’t do IR is like asking a presidential candidate why they are running for president.

I'm not sure of this , she does more than just cheat according to what she seems to discuss with Riley Reid she's been lead to wild sex either by her or by a new guy she met who happened to be black and so are his friends , the matters she says are gang bangs not IR , basically she just go wild, or just discovered how boring and unsatisfactory her sex life was before. Which could be said for any woman who starts cheating on her man whatever race her lover is
Now I can't remember her exact words but she said something to one of her lovers (Jason Brown): I want a cock , just a cock. (not a big black cock)
she ends the trailer with these words: I can't stop now , I love it.

I'm not speaking about "everyone." I'm talking about someone who's shot 12 scenes for Kink. I'm talking about someone who's shot for Sexually Broken. I'm talking about someone who recently got pissed on and had her head dunked in a toilet by Manuel Ferrara. I can understand how an individual who is outside of the fetish and BDSM world might be confused about the nature of fetish scenes. While I tend to be suspicious of the "IR is racist" excuse in general, I don't find it unbelievable that some pornstars who stick to generic porn may actually perceive a lot of IR that way. Not every pornstar has the fetish education that Carter Cruise has had.
I think she was trying to offer a more palatable excuse than "I'm Waiting to Shoot IR for a Bigger Pay Day." That doesn't mean that she's not uncomfortable with certain kinds of IR fetish scenes. She very well may be, but there's a distinction between not liking a fetish and not recognizing a fetish.
I don't know what that means.
What I'm talking about here is the distinction between fantasy and reality and the ability to recognize that distinction. I'm not just being generous when I say that Carter Cruise is a person who understands the difference between a fantasy roleplay scenario and reality. Yet she's not saying, "I'm uncomfortable with that fetish", which is more along the lines of what Adriana wrote and is perfectly reasonable. Rather, she is saying that these scenes are racist and implying that they are promoting racism. Of course this would also mean that she thinks Riley Reid, her costar in the Blacked showcase (who's she worked with elsewhere), the great Dana Dearmond ("a 10-year veteran of the industry, she seems to have taken Carter under her wing" *source*), most of the other SpieglerGirls and numerous other pornstars whom she knows are all either 1. Too stupid to realize that they are promoting racism when they film these scenes or 2. Happy to promote racism. Does she really believe this?
She's surrounded by the top pornstars in the business and it represented by the top agent in the business and yet it took her a year to figure out that Dogfart and Devil's Film aren't the only companies that shoot IR? Somehow I think that she's a bit smarter than that.

She's playing a wealthy white woman who's probably never had sex with a black guy and, unsatisfied with her white fiancée, goes out and has sex with multiple black men. This isn't a MimeFreak scene. This is a BLACKED scene.

Just sitting here thinking and I don't know if anyone spoke on this but How can y'all be mad at chicks holding out for a pay day and but still show so much support Blacked at the same time? A good number from their catalog held out and played the IR waiting game whether for money or other reasons. IF they are paying these women the extra money for a 1st IR how can you praise the one paying but damn the one receiving.
Blacked is a great site and a breath of fresh air for IR but y'all around here are starting to act like a bunch of porn aristocrats passing judgement on girls with some "You're not worthy" type shit lol.

^Like I said to Mass Facialties and like Krissy said on twitter, it comes down to personal responsibility, and when has Blacked ever called on pornstars to shoot IR dead last? Anyway, a consumer doesn't have to approve of a porn company's business practices to enjoy its content, otherwise I would have left Brazzers years earlier than I did.
Others IR fans may think differently, but I don't have anything against Carter Cruise as a person (I don't know her and have never met her) and I don't question her skills as a performer. Rather, my issue is that I regard the "wait and shoot IR for a bigger pay day" model that Kevin Moore describes to be a negative, backwards trend. Carter appears to be part of that trend and her probable success in this endeavor will influence future and up and coming pornstars to imitate her strategy. Obviously I view this issue differently from her but that doesn't mean that I dislike her or view her as unworthy. Unworthy of what?

This right here is really the issue you have. I feel you don't really care about her holding out its just that IR was the last on her list to shoot. You're not practicing what you're trying to preach. You view it as a negative practice but you still go with the flow and If you're still in support of Blacked then you can't really be that angry at women waiting for a pay day as you claim to be. It's just they better do IR before they do Anal, DP etc.. Stop trying to use the IR Payday issue as a mask for that. Because none of the other holdouts, besides maybe Kacey Jordan who legitimately said some racist shit caught this much hell. In fact they've been highly praised with comments of "I've been waiting so long for this" and such. It's like some of you are using porn and what a performer decides to do before IR as a personal judgement on your own self worth. You don't want other performers to follow suit but you show massive support for the people that are supporting it.
Dani Daniels, Aidra Fox, Presly Hart, Chloe Amour, Amarna Miller, Angela White, Ash Hollywood, Kendra Lust, Allie Haze, Cadence Lux, Tiffany Brookes, Aaliyah Love, Victoria Rae Black, Capri Cavanni <----Did y'all boycott or give those performers this much shit for those scenes because none of those women did IR their first year either and Carter did IR in a shorter time span than pretty much all of them.

^^ That's a charmingly nuanced view but it still seems that you're willing to make a big stink about the performers, but don't seem to want to hold any of the studios (or the consumers that vote with their $$$) responsible for anything.
The phenomenon that is at the center of the discussion can't exist unless the studios are willing to make it happen. Period. The studios won't make it happen unless the consumer demand is there to justify it. Period.
So as long as you're willing to keep giving your hard earned money to studios that pay performers more who hold out for the IR payday you're just as much responsible as Carter Cruise is, no matter how nuanced you position is. Imply that Carter is a hypocrite all you want. You're just as much of one as she is if you're buying Blacked content. Call her out for not being consistent in her beliefs all you want. You're no more consistent than she is.
Personal responsibility isn't just about other people.

^The consumer demand is for IR. Who met that demand more in her first year, Carter Cruise or Veruca James?
^^Iramaj1, If Carter had made herself available for IR from the beginning and happened to have shot anal, etc. first, I would never have mentioned her.
I'm not "angry at women waiting for a pay day" and have never claimed to be. It's not personal. Furthermore, I don't assume that all women who wait to shoot IR are doing so for money.
If a scene or movie looks like it will turn me on, I'll download it (legally) or buy the dvd. Should I be more principled about my porn purchases and memberships? Probably. Will I change my habits? Probably not.

^^ Well at least you can finally admit that you're being a huge hypocrite about the whole issue.
And there is clearly demand for particular performers. That's why they can command extra. If there wasn't demand to see "So and so shoot her first IR" (see the dozens of threads on here with people utterly obsessed over who has and who hasn't for proof) then nobody would get paid extra.

Everyone draws their line in the sand at different places. Some people want IR scenes to be where a black guy and a white girl just have sex without any acknowledgement of race whatsoever. From what little I've seen of the BLACKED stuff they acknowledge race but the black man isn't a a "thug" or overly racial stereotype like we see in scenes from other studios. I don't see "white girl cheating on white boyfriend with a black dude" as negative as a scene where the black guy is a "thug" type who is banging a white girl/woman because her son owes him money or the type of stuff Shane used to shoot where the girl is tossing around the "N" word. Or even movie that promote "Little white girls destroyed by Big Black Cock". There are all types and levels of stereotypes in IR scenes and different people get offended at different things. I personally don't see any real negativity in a girl acknowledging the guy is black or that she has a thing for black guys.

Before I asked you what strategy you wanted or thought was the best for a girl involving IR and you claimed you didn't have one. You later said you didn't have "rules" like another poster did. Clearly you do. You just don't want to just come out and say it. Everything you're saying points to you having your own set of rules on how you think a girl should do career-wise when it comes to IR.

Capri Cavanni actually did her first IR scene in her first year with Tyler Knight
Carter Cruise scenes were filmed last year she was done in December 2014 and we already knew of this showcase in February , actually the existence of this showcase may have anticipated some other showcases she shot for other companies because they feared a concurrent issue with this.
Also we already know that blacked has a 6 months exclusive clause with the stars especially those who do their first with them, we also know the stars COULD NOT TALK about their scenes.
You wonder why sometimes they lie on twitter, interviews or shows about IR , what would you want them to say?
They cannot talk about the scenes they shot, they cannot shoot any IR for months.
What should they say? what could they say?
It already happened with Dani Daniels and Keisha Grey , this latter said she shot IR , a couple scenes, but she was attacked on twitter and everywhere , Blacked didn't exist yet , still she couldn't talk, couldn't shoot, go figure.
How many stars are in the very same situation?
Harassed, pestered , criticized , called names but can't talk, can't shoot.
We know Blacked has at least two stars under contract Vicki Chase and Alli Rae , those stars cannot shoot IR out of blacked , why nobody is upset?
they are literally preventing them from shooting for months , Dakota James only shoots IR for blacked (yet there are some dumbasses downvoting her scenes because it's a (boring of course) re-thread not getting or not caring at all that it's the only IR available from her)
Alli is almost a year in the industry started doing IR almost out of the gate as someone put it, yet there are ONLY 2 IR scenes from her
If a starlet is prevented to work to maintain exclusivity with blacked why shouldn't be paid more? It's not just the scene it's also what she's not doing they have to pay.
As for the European stars well there are only 5 black talents working in Europe worth to mention, and they live in different Countries Joachim Kessef is French but produces and directs his own movies , sometimes very niched such as hairy women, pregnant women , amateur women sometimes all together and his stuff may even not arrive in the USA when they do it's for Combat Zone or Third World Medie.
Franco Roccaforte lives in Germany works for many productions including Kessef but has to travel , Kid Jamaica is based in Budapest and works mostly for Hungarian movies , Rocco or Legalporno and Sineplex , Mike Chapman is American and is based in Budapest too same as Kid.
Omar Williams is British but only does featured movies especially for Harmony.
There's a Russian black performer Edic/Eric but I lost tracks
Those basically sum the total of the black guys available here who are worth hiring to shoot , there are very few chances for many stars to get booked for IR , basically they must be by chance in the same location at the same time , with compatible schedules for availability and friendly production companies.
that's why a Spanish actress such as Amarna Miller basically does IR only in the States
